FUFA has guided football stakeholders on issues regarding the integrity of match officials in a circular issued on 29th August, 2019 ahead of the new 2019/2020 football season.
FUFA would like to make the Referees, Assistant Referees and Referees Assessors’ missions with details for the 2019/2020 season clear and concise for all.
In view of the upcoming season, the FIFA/FUFA (National) Referees, Assistant Referees, Beach Soccer Referees, Futsal Referees and Referees’ Assessors (All shall be referred to as “Match Officials).
This is to remind you of your responsibilities and duties during the 2019/2020 Season. Therefore it is mandatory that;
1. Match officials receive copies of FUFA Competitions rules and regulations from the FUFA Competitions Department by email before the start of the season.
2. Match officials receive copies of the FUFA Referees Manual from the Refereeing Department by email before the start of the season.
3. Match officials shall make sure that they do not receive any gifts or accept any financial offers from the public and football family. Any such attempt must be reported to FUFA with immediate effect.
4. During the match, in order to assess the referee’s performance, the referee Assessor shall be seated in the VIP stand which has the best possible view of the stadium.
5. Match officials shall not attend any press conferences and do not give any interviews before, during and after the match. You will be guided by the FUFA Communications Code.
