As the Uganda Cranes get closer to Saturday’s Total AFCON Cameroon 2019 qualifier against Cape Verde, the mood in the camp at Kabira Country Club, Bukoto is impressive and promising.
All the players are fully fit (physically and mentally) for the game that Uganda requires to win or pick at least a point to seal the AFCON slot, for the second time in a row.

From the basis of Thursday’s training session, all the players expressed their readiness to take on the opponents with spirited display in training whose focus included pressing, playing under minimal spaces, inter-play, shooting and lots of stretching.
There is one last training session on Friday morning before the visitors who arrived on Thursday afternoon also take to the field later in the evening.
Uganda Cranes leads group L with 10 points and a point would be good enough to seal qualification.

Meanwhile, the management of Mandela National Stadium has also indicated their readiness to host the big game come Saturday.
“We are ready to host Uganda Cranes play Cape Verde. It is an important game for the country. From the playing surface to other facilities at the stadium, everything is in order. I urge fans to come in early and avoid the last minute rush” Namboole Stadium manager Jamil Ssewanyana noted.

The Uganda Cranes opponents (Cape Verde) for the penultimate AFCON 2019 group L qualifier this Saturday at Mandela National Stadium have safely arrived on Thursday afternoon.
The delegation of 35 people with 24 players and 11 officials was received by the FUFA Protocol team that had Richard Nandigobe and delegate Sande Moni.
They were driven to Sheraton Kampala Hotel in Kampala where they are to be accommodated for the duration of their stay in the country.
“We are happy to be in Uganda. We shall play our best against Uganda which I am aware are a good side” Cape Verde head coach Rui Aguas disclosed to the media in an interview held at Entebbe International Airport.

The team is expected to conduct their last training on Friday (starting at 4 PM) at Namboole.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Cranes team trained on Thursday afternoon at Namboole and will engage the media during the press conference before their Friday morning training.
Team captain Denis Onyango and head coach Sebastien Desabre are expected to address the media at the Namboole board room before the team will perfect their last training.
In a bid to ensure order before, during and after the Total AFCON Cameroon 2019 qualifier between Uganda Cranes and Cape Verde at Mandela National Stadium, fans have been urged to follow the set guidelines by the security agencies, the stadium management as well as the FUFA International Match organizing committee.
Addressing the media during a special press conference held at Lugogo on Wednesday, the Deputy RPC Kampala East Asp. Bashir Ssempala urged the fans to come on time and avoid the last minute rush.

In the same vein, Asp. Ssempala advised fans to avoid wearing linen with political messages as well as avoid carrying eats and drinks in bottles to the stadium.
“We expect a very big number of fans who are willing to come to cheer the Uganda Cranes. I advise the fans to come on time and avoid the last minute rush. Each fan will be screened outside the entrance of the stadium. We urge fans to comply with the set regulations. Fans will not be allowed to jump to the stadium playing surface due to excitement” Ssempala advised.

Meanwhile, to ensure easy traffic flow, the different catergories of fans were also given different directives as delivered by the Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander, Norman Musinga;
There are cut off points at Jokas and Kireka to ensure easy movement and flow of traffic to the stadium. Jinja road to Kampala main route will be normal. From Wampewo round about to Kireka will be normal traffic flow. The Northern by-pass, Kinawata – Jinja Highway will also be normal traffic flow. The road will be blocked at Kireka and Jokas to make sure that the fans access the stadium with ease. VVIP’s will use the main gate with their stickers and park inside the stadium as directed by the traffic police officers on duty. The VIPS will access the stadium via the Namboole round about and park at the Namboole stadium lower parking. Emergency vehicles that include ambulances, fire brigade and medical team will access the venue through the exit route. The general public is encouraged to use public transport (taxis, buses and the train) to avoid traffic congestion. Every one is encourage to adhere to the set guidelines.

Chairperson of the FUFA International Match Organizing Committee, Issa Magoola issued the travel itinerary for the match officials and the visiting delegation from Cape Verde.
The Cape Verde delegation has already confirmed to arrive in the country on Thursday, 15th November 2018 at 2 PM aboard Emirates Airlines. They will be accommodated at Sheraton Kampala Hotel. The match officials from Tunisia also arrive on Thursday at 3 PM.
In the same vein, the FUFA Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Humphrey Mandu rallied upon all fans to come and cheer up the Uganda Cranes in action against Cape Verde;
Uganda Cranes will be in action against Caper Verde in one of the most important games for the country. The players need the full backing of the fans at all times. I therefore call upon the Ugandans to come up in big numbers and support the team.

Uganda Kobs beat South Sudan 1-0 in the first leg of the preliminary round for the Total AFCON U-23 qualifiers played at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo in Kampala. The Qualifiers will also help CAF to determine the final teams to play at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.

Kizza scored a last minute penalty after South Sudan goalkeeper Ramadan John Mayik Diing brought down Steven Mukwala in the penalty area.
In either halves, the Ugandan youngsters expressed the urge to break the deadlock although the visitors remained intact at the back line with solid display.

Julius Poloto, Allan Okello, Joel Madondo and Steven Mukwala all got close but could not succeed.
In the second half, Joel Madondo and Musitafa Mujuzi paved way for Duncan Sseninde and Joseph Ssemujju respectively to add more impact up front.

With three days left to the 2019 AFCON Qualifier between Uganda Cranes and Cape Verde on Saturday at Namboole, two football loving cultural leaders have poured their support toward the National team.
Uganda Cranes need a point off Cape Verde to qualify for the AFCON Finals to be hosted by Cameroon in 2019.
On Tuesday the Katikkiro of Buganda Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga and the Omukama of Tooro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV came out in full support of the game as they urged fans to continuously show their love and passion for the Uganda Cranes.

The Uganda National U23 team completed double training sessions on Monday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru with their minds set on taking on South Sudan in the AFCON U23 Qualifiers.
The team that entered residential camp on Sunday evening, held training in the morning with light workouts to enable players relax after taking part in the practice match with their seniors (Uganda Cranes) at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

Kobs assistant tactician Ayiekoh believes they quality and admits to have a strong team that will represent Uganda.
‘We know the ability of most of these players. The very big task is to select the final squad because all the boys are good. We are remaining with one day to select a team of 23 players to represent our country. We have quality and I believe we shall have a strong team’ said Ayiekoh.

Uganda Cranes officially kicked off with preparations on Friday morning as part of the training sessions for the Total AFCON qualifier match with Cape Verde on 17th November 2018 at Mandela National Stadium.
The training session started at 11:00am with 18 players (local and foreign based all in the new Mafro branded training kits) who went through physical drills at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

The group of local based players had Allan Kyambadde (KCCA FC) Kaddu Patrick (KCCA FC), Sadam Juma (KCCA FC), Isaac Isinde (Kirinya JSSS FC), Timothy Awany (KCCA FC), Moses Waiswa (Vipers SC), Taddeo Lwanga (Vipers SC), Vianne Sekajugo (Onduparaka FC), Charles Lukwago (KCCA FC), Nicolas Sebwato (Onduparaka FC), Daniel Serunkuuma (Vipers SC), Ambrose Kirya (SC Villa) and Yayo Lutimba (Vipers SC)
The foreign based players who attended training were led by assistant Captain Hassan Wasswa (Al Geish), Murushid Juuko (Simba FC), Emanuel Okwi (Simba FC) Nico Wakiro Wadada (Azam FC).

‘We have done our first training with mainly the local based players and some few from outside the country. We expect other players to join us tomorrow before we have a buildup game against the U23 team on Sunday Morning (10am) at Lugogo. We shall have our final list of 24 players for residential camp by Monday. ‘Our first training always wakes up the players’ bodies and it is when we know who to play with and probably coordinate with new players. We are motivated and we hope to do our homework well tactically as the coaches will direct us. I decided to join the National team early because our match against Al Ahly on Sunday was cancelled’ said Wasswa

Training resumes tomorrow Saturday 10th November at StarTimes Stadium with just one session at 11am.
Uganda Cranes is leading Group L with 10 points and will only need a point to qualify for the 2019 AFCON Finals in Cameroon.
Uganda won the first match (0-1) away in Praia with striker Geoffrey Serunkuma netting the game’s solitary goal.

Meanwhile, the Cranes will travel to Nigeria for a highly profiled friendly match on Tuesday 20th November against the 2015 AFCON Champions.

Preparations for the penultimate 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier game between Uganda and Cape Verde are in high gear as game day draws closer.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations(FUFA) in conjunction with Uganda Police Force have given details ahead of the game in regards to access of the stadium.
In a press briefing held at StarTimes stadium Lugogo on Thursday, it was confirmed that the match day tickets for the game slated for 17th November 2018 go on Market today evening at the various designated selling points.

FUFA Finance Director, Decolas Kiiza confirmed that the tickets charges will remain the same as those that have been charged in the previous games in this AFCON Campaign.
‘Tickets for the Uganda Cranes vs Cape Verde game will go on sale starting Friday morning. The prices will remain the same like those charged in the previous games. We thank Government for the continued support towards the National team and that is why FUFA has maintained the ticket prices said Kiiza

Ordinary tickets will be sold at Ushs 15,000/=, VIP (40,000/-) and VVIP tickets 150,000/=
There has been a change in the selling points with new additions made to ease on the accessibility of fans.
The ticket selling points are as below;
Rogers Byamukama, the chairman FUFA Marketing and Communications committee explained the new changes on the tickets and cautioned fans to buy them from only designated selling points to avoid buying counterfeits.
‘The tickets that we shall use for this game. On top of the tickets serial numbers, we have added unique bar codes that cannot be manipulated. We therefore urge fans to buy tickets from the designated selling points’ sadi Byamukama.
Byamukama also revealed that whoever buys two VVIP tickets will have a sticker to access the parking inside the stadium. He added that there will be transport at a discounted fee for the fans who purchase tickets.
‘Rift Valley Railways will transport or fans to Namboole and back with each trip costing 1,000/- but this offer will be nejoyed by fans who buy tickets for the match’ added Byamukama.
Assistant Inspector General of Police Special Duties and in charge of sports Federations, Andrew Sorowen warned the public from buying fake tickets and promised maximum security.
‘As police and all our sister security agencies, we promise maximum security to the fans that will come to watch the game. We also want to warn the general to avoid buying fake tickets.” He said.

At the same press briefing, Issa Magoola the chairman International Match Organising Committee(IMOC) confirmed that the Cape Verde team will arrive on Thursday and while the match officials will come on Friday.
Uganda leads group L on ten points and need just one point from the last two games to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

This is to notify all stakeholders that, upon the advice of the Referees Disciplinary Panel and the FUFA Referees Standing Committee, FUFA has banned three officials of match number 54 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League played on Wednesday 7th November 2018 at Muteesa II Stadium – Wankulukuku for poor officiation.
Decisions:-
The 2nd Assistant Referee Mr. Kakembo Samuel is banned from performing refereeing services of all FUFA organised and sanctioned Competitions for a period of 5 years.
The Centre Referee Mr. Kirangwa Ronald is banned from performing refereeing services of all FUFA organised and sanctioned Competitions for a period of 3 years.
The 1st Assistant Referee Ms. Nantabo Lydia Wanyama is banned from performing refereeing services of all FUFA organised and sanctioned Competitions for a period of 60 days.
The 3 match officials (Centre Referee, 1st Assistant and 2nd Assistant) have been forwarded to FUFA Committee for Match Integrity for further investigation and decision.
The 4th edition of the Airtel FUFA Awards have been officially launched at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Rwenzori ball room on Wednesday, 7th November 2018.

This year’s awards ceremony will take place on 7th December 2018 at the Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.

The Buganda Region select team overcame the Uganda Cranes mainly of local based players under the age of 23. Buganda won 2-1 during the 2018 regional tour engagement played at the Bukalasa Agricultural College play ground on Sunday before a capacity crowd.

Ben Tahomera gave Buganda the lead on 12 minutes through a well struck free-kick.
The Cranes side equalized through Musitafa Kizza’ s penalty in the second half but Tazan Kambugu got the winner for the select team.
Alex Isabirye and Katono Mutono led the technical team for Buganda select team.
Sebastien Desabre was the head coach for the Uganda Cranes team, assisted by Wasswa Bbosa, Alex Isabirye and Sadiq Wassa who are the main tacticians for the National U23 players.

The 2018/19 FUFA Big League season kicked off in style with nine games across the different corners of the country on Thursday, 1st November 2018.
A total of 12 goals were scored with a lion’s share coming up in the Rwenzori group (7) and the five in the Elgon group
Kireka United were the biggest winners on the day,, crushing Ntinda United 3-0 away at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium.
Derrick Jurua, Job Owori opened the goal scoring chapter in the first half before Reagan Male wrapped up the business in the second half.
Peter Lumolo was the hero as Kiboga Young outwitted Water 1-0 in Kiboga.
Kansai Plascon defeated Kira United 1-0 with Henry Kitegenyi on target.
Away in Kabale, Fred Kalanzi’s second half penalty for Kabale Sharp canceled out Ronald Kyamanya’s opener as debutants Dove earned a crucial away point in the one all draw.
Meanwhile, Kitara and Proline worked for a non scoring draw in Hoima.
In the Elgon group, Jinja Municipal Council Hippos overcame Bukedea Town Council at the Emokori play ground .
Crespo Asiku scored the precious goal on the evening.
Wakiso Giants earned a point in Lira during their 2 all draw with the home side Amuka Bright Stars at the Lira P7 play ground.
James Baker and Bronson Nsubuga scored for Amuka Bright Stars as Abdul Karim Kasule and Clinton Kamugisha got Wakiso Giants’ two goals on the road.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
