When the Azam Uganda Premier League returns on Tuesday, 22nd March 2016, the enticing menu ready to be served to millions of football fans will have two fixtures.
The live game on Azam TV shall be at the Kakindu Stadium when BUL F.C takes on Police F.C in the 4:00 p.m fixture.
Maroons will entertain the reigning champions, Vipers at Luzira prisons grounds in the other match.
Maroons attained their second victory of the campaign last week when they edged SCVU and will be out to keep the toll as they continue with the quest against the dangerous relegation monster.
Vipers on the other hand is out for a routine win as they play catch up to the log winners, KCCA F.C.

The Uganda National Football team the ‘Uganda Cranes’ underwent day three of non residential training at Nakivubo World War II Memorial Stadium on Sunday evening.
Fifteen players made it for training with 8 foreign based and 7 local based players.
More players are expected to join the rest on Monday as the team will go camping at Sky Hotel, Naalya.
After the training, team coach Milutin ‘Micho’ appreciated the players from the commitment and response exhibited towards the training.
He tasked the players to sacrifice and adhere to the suffering if they want to achieve in this struggle .

The first ever club football symposium for the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in conjunction with the FUFA Super League Limited (FSLL) and Uganda Premier League (UPL) successfully ended at the FUFA Technical center on Sunday.
The two day historic symposium that was attended by the club Chief Executive Officers (CEO), coaches and some of the club chairman was intended to bring together divergent views on how best to develop club football to the brim.
The main target among others for all the 16 elite premier league clubs inclined on the road to formulate a 10 year club football development plan.
For starters, this grand plan initially started with the first ever Ugandan football symposium held in January 2015 at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
Chief facilitator, Moses Magogo thanked all the participants in a special way for dedicating their precious time resource to convene and discuss football for the betterment of general growth of the beautiful game.
Key on the agenda were the means of how to improve the football quality (product), its packaging, promotion and pricing to prospective sponsors and fans.

‘Club football is key of the main pillars upon which football development is built world wide. We are in Njeru to formulate a 10 year development plan for Uganda’s club football’ Magogo clarified.

Special areas discussed at the club football symposium were in line with the 11 FIFA Club pro agenda; club structures, finance (expenditure and generation), Competitions, rules and regulations, Player development and management, Human Resource, facilities and equipment, marketing, fans’ development, Communications and event management.

A club football bible of guidelines was generated and will be compiled to help and act as directional tool for the development of club football in the next 10 years.

On Friday, 18th March 2016, the national team prayers were conducted by the Muslim community at the different mosques in the country.
The main prayers on Friday were at the Gaddafi national mosque, Old Kampala where the FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo attended.

On Sunday, prayers concurrently fell on the special Palm Sunday, were conducted at Rubaga Cathedral, Namirembe Church of Uganda and at Victory Church in Ndeeba.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) dedicated the special prayers to the national team as Uganda prepares for that crucial double header against Burkina Faso away and home.
At Rubaga Cathedral, the Vicar General of Kampala Archdiocese Msg Charles Kasibante led the mass which started at 10.30 am and ended at 12.30 pm while at St Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe. the Dean of the Cathedral Rev Canon Benon Kityo piloted the prayers .
While addressing the congregation, Canon Kityo couldn’t hide his excitement when he said that football in Uganda has traced and gone back to its origin.
‘Back in the days of the Anglican missionaries who started the game of football in Uganda, the Anglicans and football in Uganda are Inseparable to date’ Canon Kityo noted.

At Namirembe, Sam Mpiima represented the FUFA President Eng Moses Magogo in the company of The National team Coordinator Patrick Ntege, Erisa Sekisambu represented the players together with FUFA FM Senior journalist Hassan Kakaire Kirunda.
Meanwhile, at Rubaga, the FUFA Finance Director Decolas Kiiza, Competitions Assistant Ivan Kintu and National team Media Officer Hamzah Nsereko Kawuma ably represented the Federation and the National team.
The last prayers of the day were held at Victory Christian Center in Ndeeba where Bishop Herbert Salongo Buyondo was the day’s chief priest.

Bishop Buyondo thanked the FUFA President Eng Moses Magogo for such an initiative of turning to God .
‘Acknowledging God’s intervention is enough to trigger off success, this initiative is creating a difference which hasn’t existed for the last 38 years in Ugandan football’ Bishop Buyondo remarked during his sermon.
Dr Patrick Bernard Ogwal represented the FUFA President while Bernard Muwanga, Ivan Ntege together with the U-20 assistant coach Arthur Kyesimire and a player Kaweke Sofas were present.
They were accompanied by fellow sports men; Robert Semitala the Bombers captain and Charles Sekyaya, a weight lifter.
Uganda Cranes travel first for the away match that will be played on Saturday, 26th March 2016 before the return leg on Tuesday, 29th March 2016 at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium.
The Uganda National team, Uganda Cranes continued with its preparations ahead of the do or die encounters against Burkina Faso on 26th in Ouagadougou and 29th March at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
A total of 12 players reported for training including 7 foreign based players.

The first ever club football symposium in Uganda has commenced at the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Technical Center in Njeru on Saturday, 19th March 2016.

A follow up programme for one of the main pillars of football development world-over (club football), this is an initiative by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) following the first ever football symposium that was organized at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala in January 2015.
In attendance at the club symposium are the respective top flight Azam Uganda Premier league Chairmen, Chief Executive Officers (CEO) and coaches.

Deliberations at the symposium are in line with FUFA’s agenda of developing the game to the expected quality standards.
Discussions have varied right from the playing staff, administrators, facilities, fans, coaches, marketers among others.

The Symposium will climax on Sunday, 20th March 2016 with the formulation of the ‘Njeru Code’ upon which club football in Uganda will be run in the country for the next ten years.
The Uganda National football team “The Cranes’ started the preparations ahead of the double encounter against Burkina Faso on the 26th and 29th March in Ouagadougou and Kampala respectively on Friday morning.
The first training session was held at Nelson Mandela National Stadium on Friday 19th 2016 .
Three players (Erisa Sekisambu, James Alitho and Edrisa Lubega ) showed up for training and held a joint training session with the Uganda U-20 team ‘Hippos’.

At least 30 referees and Assessors have on Friday completed the six day long Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Member Association Elite Refereeing course at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru-Jinja.
The course started on Sunday 13th and has climaxed on Friday, 18th March at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru with FUFA Executive committee member, Sam Lwere, the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony.
The residential course started on Sunday with medical assessment before embarking on Physical fitness test one day later at Jinja Senior Secondary School and thereafter, the referees resumed their class schedules for theory.
According to Chairman FUFA Referees Standing Committee, Chris Kalibala said as FUFA refereeing department, we’re thrilled with the effort FUFA and FIFA are putting in to maintain high standards of refereeing in Uganda.
“We thank FUFA and FIFA for having organized this course for us because it helps us to refresh on the upgraded Laws of the game.From here we want us to go and put this acquired knowledge in to use” He as well cautioned participants.
The chief Guest Sam Lwere was happy with the route FUFA and FIFA are taking.
“On behalf of the FUFA president, I thank FIFA for giving us multiple courses wherever approached mostly in refereeing.We want to see the number of FIFA referee’s increasing year after year. And the only logic is to see you performing well wherever given an assignment.” He also cautioned referees.

The National prayer weekend organised by various religious denominations and FUFA for Uganda Cranes rolled off on Friday afternoon at the National Mosque, Old Kampala.
The service is one of the four organised this weekend aimed at seeking divine intervention from the Almighty as Uganda Cranes prepare to play double header fixtures against Burkina Faso on 26th in Ouagadougou and 29th March at Mandela National Stadium.

The sermon at the National Mosque was led by one of the Imams Sheikh Ali Juma Shiwuyo while Sheikh Rajab Hussein Kakooza led the prayers.
The Deputy Mufti Sheikh Hatwib Mukuluwakika represented His Eminence Mufti Sheikh Shaban Mubajje who is away in Morocco on official duties.
‘Islam has promoted sports in this country. We are behind this cause and the Almighty will answer our prayers. Let us all be patriotic while handling matters of National concern especially the Uganda Cranes’ said the Deputy Mufti Sheikh Hatwib.

‘Sport brings joy and sadness but we are here to pray for the National team as they prepare to play Burkina Faso. We need to support our players’ said the Imam of the day Sheikh Shiwuyo during prayers.
FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo talked to the attendants of the Friday prayers that seeking the Almighty’s support is a sign that Ugandans are God fearing people.
‘Our team has not qualified for the AFCON finals since 1978. We have never stopped seeking guidance from God. We are in a good position after winning two games’ said FUFA President.
He added ‘Your support is crucial to the success of the team in the next 11 days and let us all urn up in big numbers at Namboole on 29th March’

Uganda U-20 National team coach Kefa Kisala has released the initial squad for the Africa U-20 qualifier against Rwanda in April.
Kisala’s youngsters will start training with one group working out on Friday with the Uganda Cranes players at Namboole stadium while another set of 18 on Saturday at the same venue.

Religious leaders in Uganda have responded in affirmative to FUFA’s request for National Prayer weekend dedicated to the Uganda ahead of the two crucial 2017 AFCON Qualifiers against Burkina Faso.
The latest development comes after the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) wrote to the various religious leaders seeking for divine intervention.
The prayer weekend request to the religious groups was Friday 18th -Sunday 20th March, 2016.
FUFA launched the ‘Mujje Tulumbe’ campaign geared towards rallying huge support from all Ugandans irrespective of religion, tribe, colour and wealth status, with Cranes set to play the West Africans on 26th and 29th March, 2016.
The Uganda Cranes and other players of the same religion will pray from areas designated to FUFA by the religious groups.
‘We are glad that our requests have been honoured. We are looking forward to making the National prayers a success. We encourage all Ugandans to pray for the National team-Uganda Cranes’ said Ahmed Hussein FUFA Spokesperson.
The Imaam at the National Mosque-Old Kampala Ali Juma Shiwuyo welcomed the idea.
‘It is important to put God ahead of everything. Even if the results turn out to be good or bad, you will look back to God for His decision’ said Imaam Shiwuyo.
