‘This is a sign of unity. I love Uganda. I love my job. This has been a tough year but results went our way. Let us celebrate with these beautiful and sweet chocolates’ said Micho who was in a jovial mood.
While addressing the media the Serbian-a self-confessed fan of his country mate tennis star Novak Djokovic, said that he is a fighter on all fronts.
‘When you see Dojkovic, you are seeing the real me’ said Micho.
Thank you to all Stakeholders
Micho thanked all those who contributed to the Uganda National team’s 23 games played this year.
Uganda played 23 matches winning 14, drawing 5 and losing four to Malawi (Friendly), Kenya in CECAFA and twice at the hands of Egypt in the Africa U-23 championships. In the 14 wins, Uganda recorded six on the road.
‘You have full rights to claim all the credit for the support you have rendered to the National teams, thank you very much ‘appreciated Micho
I would also like to thank the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo and his entire Executive for the support rendered to me and my technical team.
‘The FUFA President believes in our projects and that is why he has been supporting all our ideas. He listens and guides’ added Micho.
Unsung Heroes
Micho heaped praise on the local coaches who handle the players day in day out before they are summoned to the various national teams.
‘I am with the players for a short period. Most of the work is done by the local coaches who play a key role in supporting the National teams’
Can’t fight the three biggest powers of football in Uganda
In his speech, Micho said that saboteurs would find it difficult to fight what he termed as the biggest powers of Ugandan football. The powers he referred to are; • Players Patriotism which gives them motivation and chance to change their ways of living • The huge population of Uganda which supports and spiritually owns football • The fanaticism of a few enthusiastic Ugandans who are always looking at the positive side of football.
In the year 2015 Uganda Cranes managed to qualify for the 2016 CHAN finals in Rwanda, 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group stages and won their 14th CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.

2017 AFCON qualifiers
The Uganda National team is leading group D with six points from two outings but the coach said that they will not be carried away because the team still has a tougher hurdle to skip before qualifying for 2017 AFCON finals in Gabon.
‘We are not under any pressure because we are leading the group with 6 points 3 ahead of our next opponents Burkina Faso whom we play in March. Pressure is on them because they think they are bigger than Uganda ‘lamented Micho.
Micho added that the team will go for a formula that combines both sleepless nights and hard work formula to overcome Burkina Faso on March 26th in Ouagadougou and three days later at Mandela National stadium, Nambole.

The FUFA Transfer Matching system Manager Ali Mwebe has confirmed that the various stakeholders have welcomed the new rules and regulations about the Intermediaries that will replace the previous Player’s Agents Regulations.
Mwebe says that Mr. Sebulime Musa is the only registered football Intermediary under the new rules.
Each intermediary pays 1000 dollars for two a two year period.
The FIFA Executive Committee approved the new regulations on March 2014 and came into force on April 1, 2015.
The intention, with the entry into force of this new regulation, is to break with the present model of the players’ agents activity and changing it completely.
This is illustrated in particular by the fact that the name itself has changed to “intermediary”.
This new Regulation, which came into force on April 1, 2015, is the result of widespread discussions and a very lengthy and extensive consultation procedure with all the relevant members of the international football community, and its main objective is to propose a new system that is more transparent and simpler to administer and implement, resulting, in turn, in better enforcement at national level, through each member association.
