    FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo is  a happy man after Uganda Cranes 1-0 victory over Rwanda in the CECAFA Senior Challenge up in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

    Ceasar Okhuti scored the all important goal in the first half to hand Uganda the 14th trophy of the Regional tournament.

    ‘We believe the players have added miles in their legs. They will now head to the 2016 CHAN Finals with added experienced from the CECAFA Senior Challenge cup’ said FUFA President. Eng.Moses Magogo.

    25 man contingent to share half the prize money

    Uganda’s victory handed the Cranes a cash prize of USD 30,000. On top of the players and officials’ allowances which have already already been paid, the 25 man contingent will share half the prize money that was staked by CECAFA.

    ‘We promised the players an officials that half the prize money won at the tournament would be shared among the entire contingent. We are glad that the players have won the tournament’ added FUFA President.

     

    Cranes return home on Sunday, dinner to be organised in Entebbe

    The National team will fly in at 6.20 pm and there after  head to a dinner that will be organised by FUFA in Entebbe.

    Uganda Cranes win a record 14th CECAFA trophy

    2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge  Cup, Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

    Final: Rwanda 0-1 Uganda

    For the 14th time, Uganda Cranes has won the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.

    Uganda won 1-0 over Rwanda in a well contested final played at the Addis Ababa national stadium in Ethiopia on Saturday.

    Ceasar Okhuti was the hero of the day with a well timed 15th minute header off Denis Okot’s cross from the right.

    The goal was Okhuti’s third goal of the tournament in six games played.

    Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic then replaced goal hero Okhuti for left back Isaac Muleme in the 53rd minute.

    In 71st minute, Erisa Ssekisambu paved way for Kezironi Kizito.

    Then the final change of the game came in the 93rd minute when Frank Kalanda replaced man of the match Muzamir Mutyaba.

    The jubilant Cranes team returns home on Sunday at 6 p.m

    During the National Secondary Schools Girls football championship in Mbarara, Nabweteme scored 37 goals for her school and was voted the best player as Kawempe Muslim SS lifted the title.

    New comers Th Saints jumped off the bottom of the table following a goalless draw with SC Villa Jogoo in the Azam Uganda Premier League match played at Mandela National Stadium on Friday evening.

    The Saints have now moved to 15th on the log with six points while Sc Villa are 6th with 15 points.

    KCCA FC are on top with 24 points from 10 outings while defending champions Vipers are 2nd on the table with 20 points.

    Lomolo Peter scored the solitary goal of the game postponed to today afternoon after the water lodged pitch at Mutessa Stadium couldn’t be used for the second half of the FUFA Big League match between Hope Doves and Masavu FC.

    The day’s referee Nsubuga David completed the match today as both teams played 45 minutes of the second half.

  • Education: FUFA Level One Administration and Management Course

    FUFA Level 1 Administration & Management Course

    7th – 9th December 2015 – At FUFA Technical Center

    In line with the prime agenda of uplifting the football standards in administration and management, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in conjunction with the Eastern region and Tango Sport Uganda limited has organized a level one administration and management course.

    The course shall run from 07th -09th December 2015 at the FUFA Technical Center Njeru.
    Joseph Mutaka, director of Tango Sports Limited further clarifies on the specific requirements one needs to register for the course;
    All interested individuals are urged to pay a non-refundable registration fee of UGX 100,000 per person at Tango Sport Uganda Offices in Jinja at Ghokhale Rd East Opposite Main Street Primary School or Fufa Technical Centre offices in Njeru. 
    The course will end in a certificate-giving ceremony by FUFA officials on the morning of December 09th at the Technical Center.
    Over 40 participants are expected to take part in this course, which will be handled by FIFA instructors Eng. Moses Magogo (FUFA President) and Justus Mugisha. The other instructors are Jackson Nyiima, Mujib Kasule, Sam Mpiima and Stone Kyambadde.

     

    The participants will be taken through theory and practical sessions through out the course.

     

    FUFA remains committed towards ensuring football administrators and managers attain various management skills and knowledge – all in the name of improving the beautiful game in the country.

    The federation has previous organized a number of related courses and the vivid dividend is the brand of club CEO’s for all the 16 Azam Uganda Premier league clubs.

  • CECAFA 2015: Uganda Cranes set up final with Rwanda

    2015 CECAFA Semi-finals:

    Uganda Cranes 0 (5) – 0 (3) Ethiopia

    Rwanda 1 (4) – 1 (2) Sudan

    Uganda Cranes won their semi final fixture against the host nation Ethiopia on Thursday evening in Addis Ababa.

    After 120 minutes produced no goals, the game headed for kicks from the penalty mark.

    Goal keeper Ismail Watenga saved Panom Gathuoch’s first kick from the penalty mark and the rest of the Ugandan efforts were well converted through Muzamiru Mutyaba, Denis Okot, Isaac Muleme, Joseph Ochaya and skipper Faruku Miya.

    The Cranes are seeking a 14th CECAFA title and will face regional rivals Rwanda in the finals on Saturday. Both teams will be taking part in the 2016 CHAN Finals in Rwanda.

    Rwanda beat the 2013 losing finalists Sudan 4-2 on penalties after 120 minutes had ended 1-1.

    FIFA Rankings: Uganda climbs 5 positions, matches best ever position

    Uganda has moved up by five positions to attain its  joint best position (63rd)  in the latest FIFA Coca Cola World rankings for the month of December.

    Uganda’s best ever position was 63rd in 2010.

    The improvement is due to the double header superb performance against Togo on October 12th and 15th in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifiers in Lome and Kampala.

    Uganda beat Togo 1-0 away and 3-0 at Mandela National stadium to advance to the group stages 4-0 on aggregate.

    The latest rankings put Uganda in 13th position on the African continent and the in the CECAFA region followed by Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi.

    The eight (8) FUFA regions are set for the preliminary stages of the 42nd edition of the Uganda Cup.
    The Preliminary stage is for the non-league teams and clubs playing at Regional League level. Twenty two (22) slots are allocated for this category.

    The FUFA Competitions Director Ali Mwebe said ‘Each region is allocated a specific number of teams in the Uganda Cup. The allocation is as follows; Kampala4, Buganda 4, Eastern 3, Western 3 while Kitara, North East, Northern and West Nile have 2 each’

    The Azam Uganda Premier League teams together with the FUFA Big League clubs have a deadline of 5th January 2016 to have registered their teams.

    The draws will be held on 21st January, 2016 while the round of 64 kicks off on 23rd January.

    The Uganda Cup final will be played on 28th May 2016 at a venue yet to be named.

    SC Villa are the Uganda Cup holders and will represent Uganda in the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.

    The Airtel FUFA Awards ceremony is drawing closer and preparations are in high gear.

    On Thursday morning the Grand Prizes to be won by the Male and Female player of the year were displayed at FUFA House.

    The Male and Female player of the year will walk away with a brand new Toyota Premio and Spacio respectively.

    ‘We believe it will be a historical moment when male and female players walk away with the brand new cars’ said Ahmed Hussein, FUFA Spokesperson.

    Confirmed Nominees of other categories 

    The Local Organising Committee of the Awards ceremony has released the confirmed nominations from associations for different categories.

    The latest nominees are from the Uganda Beach Soccer Associations (UBSA) and Uganda Football Referees Association (UFRA).
    This was announced by the FUFA Spokesperson Ahmed Hussein during FUFA weekly press conference held at FUFA House Mengo on Thursday 2nd December 2015.

    The nominees for the beach soccer player of the year are Brian Nkubi (St Lawrence BSC ), Baker Lukoya (St Lawrence BSC) , John Revita ( Real Glacticals BSC ) , Douglas Muganga (Real Galacticals ) and Mathias Kigonya from Stormers BSC /Dalumba International BSC. The five man list will be reduced to three players later today.

    Coaches under their umbrella body Uganda Football Coaches Association (UFCA) are to nominate three of their best from which one will emerge the winner.

    Other categories include Upcoming talent who nominees were handled by Uganda Youth Football Association and the coaches of the clubs in the inaugural FUFA Juniors League ( U-17), Fair Play Award to be given to the team with least yellow and red cards .

    The FUFA Presidential Award winner will be selected by the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo.

    The Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday on 13th December 2015 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

    The Local Organising Committee of the 2015 Airtel FUFA Awards has extended the ceremony by two days to Sunday 13th December, 2015 but the venue-Speke Resort Munyonyo has been maintained.

    ‘The earlier date of 11th December 2015 was changed to allow clubs and Uganda Premier League Secretariat have smooth operations of the league engagements allocated for that day’ said FUFA Spokesperson Ahmed Hussein who confirmed the development.

    Hussein added ‘We have invited 300 guests for the football night to witness  the crowning of the best in Ugandan football’

    The function will start at 5pm.

    A big night awaits the most excelling footballers of the year 2015 when the local football fraternity gathers and experiences the epitome and ambiance of Speke Resort Munyonyo on Sunday 13th December, 2015 to crown Uganda’s best in the Male and Female categories.     FUFA Big League: Water, ArtlandK post wins

    The FUFA Big League resumed on Tuesday afternoon with two games on card.

    Water FC enjoying rich vein in form won their 4th successive league match by beating home side Kira Young 2-0. Former Bright Stars FC academy player Mahad Kalema scored both goals for Water after the break.

    At Masharik stadium, ArtlandK humbled Lira United FC 4-1. Kimera Ibra, Opolot Marin, Naddin Galiwango and Makera Shaki scored or ArtlandK. Lira’s consolation was scored by Joachim Ojera.

    Nasuuna was voted the MVP of the FUFA Women Elite League (FWEL) 2015 season. She had a wonderful season as most of the limelight was on her because of the ‘Mother –Daughter’ battle.
    Nassuna made 8 assists and scored 8 goals during the FWEL 2014/2015 season.

    FUFA BIG LEAGUE: Tuesday, 1st December 2015 – Match Day 11

    • Kira Young F.C Vs Water F.C – Kira Town Council play ground
    • Art-land Katale Vs Lira United – Mashariki S.S, Entebbe road

    Match day 11 started on Tuesday, 1st December 2015 with two Elgon group matches and will continue with a number of games on Thursday, 3rd December 2015.

    There are two groups of the FUFA Big league – Elgon and Rwenzori. Only three clubs are promoted to the elite league.

    Promotion to Azam Uganda Premier League:

    Each of the group winners earns a direct slot to the Azam Uganda Premier league for the season 2016/17.

    The third club is determined via a promotional play – off that involves four teams; two from either groups.

    Relegation:

    The worst performing teams (four per group) are relegated to the respective regional leagues.
