The new leadership of the Council for Eastern and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) for the next four years was decided during elections held on Friday at Inter Continental Addis Hotel, Ethiopia.
The election exercise was part of the CECAFA General Assembly which kicked off activities of the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.
During the elections Sudan FA President Mutasim Jaffar was elected new CECAFA president after polling 6 votes, Uganda’s Lawrence Mulindwa got 3 votes while Rwanda FA boss Vincent Nzamwita, one vote.

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has released the date and venue for the draw of 3rd round of the African 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
In a brief communication to various Member Associations (MAs) sent by Gordon Savic-Head of FIFA World Cup & Olympic Qualifiers & International Matches, it reads;
‘We would like to congratulate your respective national teams for qualifying for the 3rd round of the African 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. In this respect, please note that the draw date and location for the 3rd round have been jointly agreed by FIFA and CAF, namely on 24th June 2016 in Cairo.
Uganda knocked out Togo 4-0 on aggregate to make it to the 3rd round (group stages) of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Uganda Cranes final squad to Ethiopia for the 2015 Senior Challenge cup has been named by head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic.
The squad was released on Friday morning at the African Bible University, Lubowa before the team left for Entebbe Airport to fly out at 12.51pm aboard Ethiopian Airlines to Addis-Ababa.

The Uganda Cranes team will leave for Ethiopia at 12.51 pm on Friday ahead of their first match on Sunday against Kenya in the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge cup.
Head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic will name his final 20-man squad tomorrow before the 25man contingent heads to Entebbe Airport.
The team had gym work at Paradise fitness centre Acacia Mall on Thursday morning then trained in the evening at the Africa Bible University in Lubowa where they will spend the night before flying out tomorrow.

FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo has already arrived in Ethiopia ahead of tomorrow’s CECAFA Congress when a new chairman will be elected.
Former FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa has already declared his candidature for the top position. FUFA has confirmed that they will support Mulindwa during the elections.
At the FUFA weekly Press conference on Wednesday, FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo said;
‘FUFA will garner for support from the other Member Football Associations in the region to vote for Mr Lawrence Mulindwa because his victory won’t be individual but for Uganda as a nation’
‘We believe Mr Mulindwa has the ability to move CECAFA forward .This is based from his works at FUFA’ added Magogo.
‘The FUFA Executive Committee took a position to nominate Mr Lawrence Mulindwa and pledge full support for him’.

The FUFA President also dismissed rumours that Uganda is not going to support Mulindwa.

CECAFA Presidential elections will take place on 20th November 2015 in Addis Ababa.
The FUFA Competitions Department has released the programme for the Uganda Cup 2015/2016 season.
At FUFA House Mengo ,the competitions director Ali Mwebe announced the detailed programme for teams at all levels .
It is mandatory for all the 16 clubs in the Azam Uganda Premier League and 26 FUFA Big League to take part in the competition but will only swing into action at the round of 64.
The remainder of the teams (22) from be taken up by the lower division teams or non league sides.
The FUFA Competitions Director Ali Mwebe said ‘ Each region is allocated a specific number of teams in the Uganda Cup. The allocation is as follows; Kampala region 4, Buganda region 4, Eastern 3, Western 3 while Kitara, North East, Northern and West Nile have 2 each’
Registration of the lower teams is slated for 4th December 2015 and kick off for the preliminary round is on the 5th of December 2015.
The Azam Uganda Premier League teams together with the FUFA Big League clubs are to be registered by 5th January 2015 and draws held on 21st January. The Uganda cup round of 64 kicks off on 23rd January 2016.
The registration for AUPL and FBL clubs will be held at FUFA House Mengo while for preliminary rounds will be at respective FUFA regional offices .
The registration fee has also been confirmed for various teams at different levels.
‘Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big league clubs will pay UGX 200, 000, FUFA regional, District FAs together with Fifth division clubs pay UGX 100,000 and Non-league clubs /teams shall register with UGX250,000.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed that KCCA FC has been approached in case Sc Villa Jogoo fail to beat the deadline of 30th November, 2015 for registration to take part in the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.
By virtue of winning the Uganda Cup, Villa earned the ticket to represent Uganda in the Confederation cup.
Vipers SC who won the Azam Uganda Premier League have met all the requirements and await inspection by CAF before being given the all clear to make their maiden show on the continent in next year’s CAF Champions League.
The latest development of Ugandan clubs’ participation on the continent was revealed by the FUFA Licensing Committee Chairman Dr.Patrick Bernard Ogwel during the FUFA weekly Press Conference held on Wednesday at FUFA House in Mengo.
‘Vipers Sports Club paid the security fee of USD 10,000 to the FUFA accounts plus the USD 500 as registration fees.
Sports Club Villa Jogoo have asked for more time before they dully fulfill all the requirements till 27th November 18, 2015 as the deadline for registration is 30th November 2015.
In related development, KCCA FC, losing finalists in the Uganda cup 2014/2015 has been notified of the impending opportunity in case Villa doesn’t beat the deadline for registration.

The FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo couldn’t hold his happiness for various stakeholders and individuals who contributed to the success of the Uganda Cranes when they knocked out Togo in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifiers.
At the weekly press conference held at FUFA House in Mengo , the FUFA President expressed his gratitude to all the sponsors and partners of Uganda Cranes, Government , media, FUFA staff and other officials plus all football fans for the endless endeavors and support towards Uganda Cranes and football development in Uganda.
Eng.Moses Magogo made special thanks to the Government of Uganda for the security and logistical support to the national team.

“Many teams have faced logistical challenges more specially during these back to back games of mid-week and weekend action in Africa .We really have to be grateful that we never faced such problems because of the support from government especially HE President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’
At the same press conference, Mandela National Stadium were mentioned as one of the unsung heroes because of the tireless efforts they put in to upgrade the pitch thus making it playable after there had been fears that it would not be in good condition to host the return leg against Togo.
Related to the above, the FUFA President asked Ugandans not to celebrate yet because there is still a lot of work to do.
‘We need not to celebrate yet. Our aim is to be among the big boys in African football’ said aid Eng. Magogo .

The Azam Uganda Premier league resumed with four games on card on Tuesday.
At Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, army side Simba Sports club earned their first victory of the season, winning 1-0 over debutants, The Saints F.C. Prior to today’s match, Simba had played 8, lost 5 and drawn 3.
Defender Musa Doca scored the lone goal of the day via a penalty after defender Azizi Mubiru committed a foul in penalty area on Ivan Wava.
URA F.C continued with the recovery under coach Kefa Kisala after a dismal start to the campaign winning 3-2 at their Mehta stadium home ground in Lugazi over defending champions Vipers.
Robert Sentongo and Erisa Ssekisambu each scored a brace for URA and Vipers respectively before left footed and fast paced dribbling winger Elukanah Nkugwa notched the winner.
At Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, Police F.C won away 1-0 over home side Lweza football club.
Hood Kaweesa maintained his rich goal scoring form with the only goal of the day in the 19th minute.
At the Maroons stadium in Luzira, KCCA F.C picked yet another precious victory over debutants, Jinja Municipal Council Hippos.
Owen Kasule scored a second half penalty to give Mike Mutebi’s side the three points in the bag with KCCA FC winning 1-0.
KCCA F.C thus stretches their leadership at the table and now have 24 points to open up a 4 point lead over the joint second placed clubs, Vipers and Police (both on 20 points).
The SC Villa versus Maroons game was not played due to the unavailability of the Nakivubo stadium.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Honorary President , who is also the CECAFA Vice President, Lawrence Mulindwa has on Tuesday launched his official bid for CECAFA top seat.
Mulindwa launched his manifesto at Pope Paul Hotel in Kampala at a well attended press conference.
After 18 years in football as President of Vipers Sports Club, President of a National Association (FUFA), Vice President of CECAFA, member of standing committee of FIFA and CAF, the game has become part of my life.
Mulindwa, who was FUFA President for 8 years before Eng Moses Magogo took over was nominated by the current administration of FUFA for the CECAFA presidency.
Key of his manifesto is the general improvement of football in the region especially as far as women, youth and beach soccer.

Ugandan FIFA referees \denis Batte, Sonko MArk,BalikoowaMUsa and Ssali MAshood will official the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Qualifier between Tunisia and Mauritania on Tuesday 17th November,2015. Tunisia leads 2-1 from the first leg.
The match will be played in Tunis.
Batte will be the referee while Sonko assistant referee 1 and Balikowa Assistant referee 2. The reserve referee is Ssali.
