THANK YOU: FUFA APPRECIATES GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TOWARDS UGANDA CRANES

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) would like to extend its appreciation to the President of Uganda His Excellency General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Government of the Republic of Uganda for the financial support given to FUFA towards expenses of the Uganda Cranes against Ghana in Kumasi on 6th September, 2014.

The Government through the Ministry of Education and Sports and National Council of Sports, released and FUFA is in receipt of Shs. 150,000,000(One hundred fifty millions only) in response to the federation’s earlier request for financial support towards the National team’s preparations.

This is a welcome effort and the federation would only expect more support from government for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Togo and Ghana in October and November 2014 respectively.

‘Government’s support has been tremendous towards the Uganda Cranes and we are very grateful. Uganda’s chances of qualification to the Nations cup finals for the first time since 1978 can only improve if government takes the lead role in supporting the team’ said FUFA President Eng Moses Magogo.

FUFA has already finalized its budget for next month’s Uganda Cranes games against Togo and will still seek support from government.
