Football in the modern word calls for efforts to embrace change that occurs almost on a daily. To keep within touch of the dynamic world, football stakeholders ought to equip themselves with knowledge to suit the new trends.
It is upon this basis that FUFA introduced the Football Administration and Management Course (FAMACO) Level II which is in line with the Federation’s vision of ” becoming the number one football nation in Africa on and off the field.”
On Monday, a total of 30 participants who were initially subjected to a pre- assessment test convened at Jevine Hotel, Kampala to commence the course that will run for 400 hours in intervals.
The course was officially opened by FUFA First Vice President Justus Mugisha who emphasized the need of professionals in the football industry.
‘As FUFA, we are intentional with this programme because we believe the football industry needs skilled workforce that has been taught about the principles of the game.’ He said.
Ronnie Kalema, the FUFA Executive Committee Member who is also the Chairperson of the Football Development Committee indicated the course is timely and will improve in the capacity building area.
‘This is the first edition of FAMACO II after a spell of ten years of running FAMACO I. The purpose is to bridge the gap between football administration and management and also prepare participants in getting FUFA, CAF and FIFA Diplomas. Additionally, is to prepare participants who can get back into the football industry and work with our member associations including clubs, regions and special interest groups.’ indicated Kalema.
The course is committed to providing educational services on highly relevant matters related to football administration.
It is also prime-industry oriented, practical and solution-based offered to professionals from various fields of academic studies who are in football and need to use the knowledge to draw strategic and operational organization in running the game.
Additionally, the course seeks to equip participants with current practical know-how and insights studied in class and the field that is needed to transform the associations and clubs into professional entities.
The FAMACO Level II will be the gateway for any Ugandan football administrators who seek to attain further courses certified both by CAF and FIFA.
