With six matches played so far in the FUFA Regional play-offs, focus and attention has turned to the Western and Kitara regions.
The four clubs in these two regions arrived on Tuesday evening and had a feel of the astro turf at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
Terrazo and Tiles, Booma and Asingye were the first clubs to arrive at Njeru before Kigezi set foot at the center later on in the evening.

In the opening match on Wednesday, 28 October 2020 at 10 am, Asingye from Kasese takes on Booma from Hoima.

The afternoon match will witness Terrazo and Tiles up against Kigezi at 2 pm.

Eastern region side Gaddafi Football Club attained a berth to the StarTimes FUFA Big League.
Gaddafi FC overcame 3-0 North East region club Sansiro 3-0 during a promotional final played on Tuesday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
Patrick Asiku, Mark Bamukyaaye and second half substitute Ronald Bithum Nsumbiano netted the goals.

Gaddafi joins Buganda region club, Luwero United to the second tier league.
Meanwhile, Asiku officially retired from active football in an emotional send-off.
The striker was accorded a guard of honour by fellow players moments after the game.

Jayden Onen scored in the 6th minute and got cautioned as his Reading U23 side lost 4-1 at Stoke City U23 during the English Premier League second division.

Eastern region’s Gaddafi will face Sansiro from North East in the final of the FUFA Regional play-offs at the FUFA Technical Center on Tuesday, 27th October 2020.
Gaddafi Football Club humbled Admin 4-0 on Sunday with the goals coming from Thomas Ochungo, Ronald Obele, Mark Bamukyaaye and an Edimond Robert own goal.
During the second match, Sansiro overcame Katakwi’s Team Church 4-2 in post-match penalties after a goal-less draw.
Ghislain Kagwa Otukei, Noel Okiror, Sam Mai and second half substitute Leonard Olnga scored for Sansiro in the match shoot out.

James Oba missed for Sansiro whilst Emmanuel Orisa and substitute Alfred Ekwangu were denied by goalkeeper Jamada Ojuge.

Charles Namakoola, head coach for Sansiro has the hope that they will win the match even if they traveled with a limited number of players.
‘We shall build on the victory we had on Sunday. The players are ready.’ Namakoola disclosed.

Sansiro Football Club will face Gaddafi in the battle for the StarTimes FUFA Big League promotion this Tuesday, 27th October 2020 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
The development comes after Sansiro, who hail from Pallisa district eliminated Katakwi’s Team Church 4-2 in post match penalties in Sunday’s second game of the all North East region.
Normal time of this game ended goal-less.
Sansiro’s kicks from the penalty mark were scored by Ghislain Kagwa Otukei, Noel Okiror, Sam Mai and second half substitute Leonard Olnga.
Team Church’s two goals in the shoot-out came from captain Julius Ocen and Salim Akabwai.
Only James Oba missed for Sansiro whilst Emmanuel Orisa and substitute Alfred Ekwangu has their respective shots saved by Team Church goalkeeper Enos Okure.

Gaddafi Football Club humbled Admin 4-0 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru during the Eastern region play-off contest on Sunday.
Gaddafi’s goals were scored by Thomas Ochungo, Ronald Obele, Mark Bamukyaaye and an Edimond Robert own goal.
Ochungo headed home Ronald Obele’s curling corner kick in the 21st minute.

Ochungo then turned provider with a long diagonal ball to Obele who beat Admin goalkeeper Patrick Wafula on the stroke of half time.
Bamukyaaye made it three a few minutes after restart of play in the second half and defender Robert Edimond put the ball into the net past his own goalkeeper on the hour mark.

Gaddafi awaits to face the winner between Team Church and Admin who play in the second game on Sunday afternoon.
The final between Gaddafi and the North East region champions will be played on Tuesday, 27th October 2020 at Njeru.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has on Saturday held the physical fitness tests for the national and international referees.
This was a day after the medical examination of these referees.
A total of 50 referees (23 FIFA) and 22 national referees underwent the tests at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru and StarTimes Stadium – Lugogo in Kampala.
Ali Kalyango and Ronald Mwesigwa supervised the crop of referees at Njeru, all of them international referees.
At Lugogo, Ronnie Kalema (Chairman FUFA Referees Standing Committee) alongside Rosebell Rwamuyamba, Ali Tomusange, JB Masiko, Kizito Rahman Nansubuga, Samuel Kayondo and Ndawula Muhammed Shaban.

According to Kalema, this exercise is undertaken four times in a year in a bid to ascertain the level of fitness for the referees ahead of continental assignments and national events as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, StarTimes FUFA Big League, Stanbic FUFA Uganda Cup, FUFA Drum among others.

‘FUFA is here to deliver refereeing as we professionalize the game. The significance of physical fitness tests is to ensure quality of the referees in the country.’ Kalema noted.

Rahman Kizito Nansubuga, an Instructor described the exercise as an annual event aimed at preparing referees for international and national league games.
‘These sessions also helped check on the endurance, speed and acceleration of referees to match the modern game.’ Kizito disclosed.

This exercise is meant to establish their fitness levels as well as to update and refresh their knowledge and skills in the discharge of their abilities.
The objective was to update the participants on the Laws of the Game as well as evaluate their fitness and technical abilities for upcoming major competitions in the new season such as StarTimes Uganda Premier League, FUFA Drum, Stanbic Uganda Cup among others.

Match No.6: Luwero United (Buganda Region) 1-0 CATDA (Kampala Region)
Luwero United Football Club from Buganda Region earned sporting promotion to the StarTimes FUFA Big League.
This followed a well worked out 1-0 win over Kampala region’s CATDA at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Saturday, 24 October 2020.
Joseph Justus Nkabirwa was the hero with the lone goal on the day scored in the third minute under a closed door arrangement because of COVID-19 restrictions.
Luwero United however endured to complete the match with a player less, following a red card to Sadat Mukembo after a second bookable offence in the 50th minute.

‘We worked so hard to earn this promotion. The players and management had a goal which has been attained’ Luwero head coach Paul Calvin Mugerwa disclosed.
With the Kampala and Buganda regional play-offs done and dusted, focus will turn to the Eastern and North East regions.
Eastern has Gaddafi and Admin Football Clubs (facing each other on Sunday morning at 10 am) before North East region clubs Sansiro and Team Church will square up at 2 PM.
The final will be played on Tuesday, 27th October 2020.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has released the official programme and the list of match officials prior to the long awaited contest between Buganda region champions Luwero United and Kampala victors CATDA.
The match shall be held on Saturday, 24th October 2020, kicking off by noon. As like, the other play-off matches, there will be a live stream of the entire game on the official FUFA facebook page.
