FUFA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity aimed at making communities happy through football has gained support from a top minister in the Busoga Kingdom.
Hon Joan Machora who is the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Busoga Kingdom made a personal donation of 500 pieces of cloths to FUFA through 87.7 Baba FM in Bugembe who are partners of this noble cause attached to this year’s Uganda Cup.
The beneficiaries Missionaries of the Poor will be handed the items a week after the Uganda cup final together with the players of the winning team.
‘I know very many people are having clothes in their houses but we need to learn the culture of giving and helping the needy. I call upon all people from Busoga to respond well to this cause. Let’s learn to give and through this practice God will even reward you more. Very many people need our helping hand to make their lives better so let us do it if we can’ said Hon. Machora.
She also thanked FUFA and Baba fm 87.7 for coming up with such a brilliant idea.
Baba FM’s Nicholas Kalanzi received the donation from Busoga Kingdom Foreign Affairs Minister Joan Machora Nicholas Kalanzi a senior sports presenter on Baba FM received the items on behalf of the radio which will be handed over to FUFA.
During the launch of the 2015/2016 Uganda cup FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein said;
‘We shall attach a CSR activity by collecting clothes and other items that we shall give back to a selected charity organisation within the region that hosts the Uganda cup final. FUFA has also asked its 32 Members to join the cause’

FUFA Competitions Director Ali Mwebe also delivered his donations. Secretariat staff are also being encouraged to support communities. On Baba FM’s kind support and involvement, Hussein said; ‘Sports needs generous people to move forward. We know how sports can make people happy and even change their lives. We thank Baba FM for being part of this cause’
FUFA partnered with Baba fm to help in the cause and also act as a collection centre in Eastern Uganda.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC dethroned Vipers to win their 11th league crown.
The final league game for KCCA against Sadolin Pints which ended one all at Nakivubo stadium on Friday was merely ceremonial as they had already clinched the championship on match day 29.
Fred Ssegujja nearly spoilt the day for the champions who only awaited crowning.
But, Joseph Ochaya made amends with a well taken volley in the second half as the game ended one goal apiece.
At Nelson Mandela National stadium, Namboole, Vipers fought gallantly to equalize after falling behind to Moses Basena coached club, The Saints.
Like the KCCA-Sadolin Paints game, the Vipers’ match ended one all.
SC Villa defeated already relegated Maroons 4-1 at Luzira but it was URA will the biggest victory on the day when they humiliated another relegated side, SC Victoria University 6-1 at the Mehta stadium in Lugazi.

The final eight matches of the Azam Uganda Premier for the season 2015/16 will be played on Friday, 27th May 2016 at various venues across the country.
It will be a momentous day for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) who are set to be crowned champions on the day when they play Sadolin Paints.
KCCA are champions in the waiting having clinched their 11th league crown during match day 29 when they drew with Express 1 all at the Mutesa II Stadium on Tuesday.
The draw elevated KCCA to 56 points, four ahead of the second placed club Vipers with a game to go for each club.
After Friday’s game for KCCA against Sadolin Paints at Nakivubo Stadium, the official crowning ceremony will be held.
In the other matches on Friday, Bright Stars host Soana, URA is at their Mehta home to Sports Club Victoria University.
Lweza will entertain BUL and Police up against Express at Kavumba Recreational Stadium.

Uganda Cup final at Nakivubo on 18th June, 2016
Members of the public and football lovers have started delivering clothes and other items towards FUFA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activity. Attached to the 2015/2016 Uganda cup as communicated at its launch last year, FUFA will be giving back to the communities through football to put smiles on their faces.
‘We have identified a charity organization called Missionaries of the Poor based in Mutundwe that will be the beneficiaries of this year’s project’ said Ahmed Hussein
On Wednesday FUFA continued to receive the items and later placed in the big container reserved for this project.
‘We shall attach a CSR activity by collecting clothes and other items that we shall give back to a selected charity organisation within the region that hosts the Uganda cup final. FUFA has also asked its 32 Members to join the cause’ said FUFA Spokesperson Ahmed Hussein during the launch of the 2015/2016 Uganda Cup.
‘We shall also receive donations from individuals who might not be able to make it to these selected centres. FUFA has plans of picking these donations from them’ added Ahmed
The items will be handed over a week after the Cup final. A team that wins the Uganda Cup will accompany FUFA officials to deliver the items.

FUFA Big League: Proline promoted. Kirinya-Jinja S.S are champions

Proline Soccer Club became the third club to join the Azam Uganda Premier league after winning the promotional play-off 4-1 against Lira’s Sporting United at Nakivubo Stadium on Sunday, 22nd May 2016.
Baker Mbowa’s coached side joined Onduparaka (from Arua) and Kirinya-Jinja S.S as the three sides promoted to the Azam Uganda Premier league starting with the season of 2016/17.
Gift Ali put Proline in the lead as early as the 23rd minute. The goal was canceled in the 38th minute through Dickens Okwi’s penalty.
Proline skipper Simon Monie Mbaziira scored a second half penalty to restore the lead before their lead striker, Edris Lubega added two more goals to cap a memorable evening that marked their return to the premier league.
Mbazira was later red-carded with 10 minutes to go for unsporting conduct.

Onduparaka FC head coach Allan Kabonge who was selected best coach of the 2015/16 FUFA Big league In the main final, Kirinya-Jinja S.S overcame Onduparaka 2-0 courtesy of strikes from Musa Mugumba and Joel Madondo in either halves to win the FUFA Big league title.
The play-offs were watched by a mammoth crowd that included FUFA 3rd Vice president, Dennis Ssebuggwawo Mbidde, Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin Sredojevic, Arua Municipality MP Bernard Atiku, Kachumbari MP, Patrick Isiagi Opoloti, FUFA officials among others.
Kirinya – Jinja is now overall champion of the 2015/16 FUFA Big league.

FIFA Players’ Intermediaries: FUFA releases guidelines for application
Since Federation of Uganda Football Associations implementing the new system adopted by the 64th FIFA Congress that abolished football agents and replaced them with Intermediaries, FUFA continues to encourage all those willing to follow the right procedure
FUFA Transfer Matching system Manager, also the competitions director, Ali Mwebe confirmed that the various stakeholders have welcomed the new rules and regulations about the Intermediaries that will replace the previous Player’s Agents Regulations.
Mwebe noted;
FIFA requires all its Member Associations to regulate and register anyone who intends to carry out Intermediary activities as defined in both the FIFA and FUFA regulations on working with Intermediaries with effect from 1st April, 2015.
We therefore call upon all individuals and companies wishing to conduct any Intermediary activity as defined under FUFA Regulations on working with Intermediaries including entering into a representation contract with a client to register with FUFA by 30th June, 2016 at 5:00 pm East African Standard Time.
At present situation, only Musa Sebulime is the only registered football Intermediary under the new rules.
Application procedure
- The applicant will pick an application form from FUFA or down load fromhttps://fufauganda.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/APPLICATION-PROCEDURE-FOR-INTERMEDIARIES.pdf
- The application form is only complete if the test of good character is attached.
- The filled form will be submitted to FUFA together with proof of payment of application fees of $ 100 (one hundred US Dollars) or its equivalent.
- Applicants will be required to attend a one day seminar at FUFA house, Mengo on the 20th May 2016 from 8:00 am.
- FUFA will review and verify the applications and contact only the successful applicants.
- The successful applicants will be issued with an Intermediary License upon proof of payment of $ 2000 (two thousand US Dollars) or its equivalent

FUFA promises to support Busoga Kingdom Masaza Cup
Following a meeting with the Buganda Kingdom officials over plans on how to improve football through Masaza Cup, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has also extended a parental hand of help to the Busoga Kingdom.
A fortnight ago, the Minister of Sports in the Buganda Kingdom Owek. Sekabembe Henry held talks with the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo and discussed issues on how to take football in Buganda kingdom to another level.

On Tuesday afternoon, a strong delegation from Busoga Kingdom led by the Sports Minister Amin Bossa, Minister of Finance Wamono Robert Solomons and Henry Batambuze-Chairman Football Committee and visited the home of football (FUFA House) in Mengo. Batambuze is also a Delegate in the FUFA Assembly representing Eastern region.
The trio discussed issues including the inaugural Busoga Kingdom Masaza Cup due to he launched soon.
FUFA reaffirmed its support towards football development in Uganda, Kingdoms and regions countrywide.

Onduparaka from Arua Municipality and Kirinya-Jinja S.S football clubs became the first two clubs to gain promotion to the 2016/17 Azam Uganda Premier league.
Onduparaka have topped the Elgon group with 53 points after winning their last game of the season 3-0 against Sporting United at the Green Light stadium in Arua town.
Rashid Agau, Muhammed Shaban and Wahabu Gaddafi (penalty) were all on the score sheet in a well attended match broadcast live on 102.1 FUFA f.m.

On Saturday, 14th May 2016 when the regular season of the second division (FUFA Big league) shall be climaxing, four clubs; Sporting United and Onduparaka (Elgon Group) as well as Proline and Kirinya-Jinja S.S (Rwenzori) all have an equal chance of progressing to the Azam Uganda Premier league.
Onduparaka will play host to Sporting United at the Green Light Stadium in Arua town in the decider of the Elgon group.
In the Rwenzori group, the two matches to determine the directly promoted side will be Wandegeya against Kirinya-Jinja S.S at Kanyanya as well as Kasese New Villa playing against Proline at the Buhinga play ground in Fort Portal.
On Wednesday, Lira’s Sporting United humiliated visiting Busia Fisheries 4-0 at the Lango Sports Ground to go top of the group.
Dickens Okwi netted a hat-trick that elevated him to 18 goals in the season, one short of the overall top scorer, Edrisa Lubega (of Proline).
James Gerrard scored Sporting United’s other goal.
In the Rwenzori group, Hope Doves edged Wakiso United 1-0 at Nakivubo stadium, a fixture that was moved from the Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku (because of Kampala regional play-offs).
At the Masaka recreational stadium Synergy whipped Sun City 3-0.

There is one game on Thursday as Hoima’s Boma Young takes on Mbale’s CRO at the Boma play ground in Hoima Municipality.
On Friday, there will also be one game when Lira United plays host to Busia Fisheries at the Lango sports ground.
Saturday will be the D-Day for all the teams with eight fixtures lined up.
Baza Holdings host Boma Young. Proline (50 points) travels to Fort Portal to play Kasese New Villa, a club desperate to skip relegation.

Futsal Mini-league: Sauna football club crowned inaugural winners

In a typical sporting spirit, Sauna football club players were granted a special guard of honour by the second runners up, Typhoons before the final game of the 2016 Futsal mini league.
Reason – Sauna had been already declared champions before very last game of the season.
Unfortunately for the overall winning team (but fortunately for the day’s victors), the crowd enjoyed a massive 13 goals scored in favour of Typhoons in their 10-3 humiliation of Sauna.

Action between Sauna (white) and Typhoons during the final game of the season This was the first ever Futsal mini league that had all the matches played at the Lugogo Indoor Arena every Tuesday night since March 2016.
On the final day, there were three games played on the night with Italex walloping FC Patriots 7-0.
Lovis Lubega (2), Ibra Kateregga (2), Karim Segawa and Hussein Skaiky all scored the for the Patriots.

LFC rallied from three goals down to force a 4-4 draw with Zak Sports.
Emma Toshnet, Ashraf Tamal, Ahmed and Treasure Musiime each had a goal for Zak Sports.

Masudi Kafumbe (Typhoons FC) being rewarded with the youngest player’s award by the FUFA Competition Director, Ali Mwebe LFC scored through Lebanese Mohammed Badereddine (brace), Francis Abiriga and Frank Akera.
The last game on the night was the most thrilling, action packed that kept fans on their toes.
Sauna, who started the game as champions were whipped 3-10 by a merciless Typhoons side.
League top scorer, Bashir Matovu scored a hat-trick on the night to finish with 19 goals overall.

Also Samuel Kato had three goals before Lukyamuzi Oyrioch, Masudi Kafumbe and Abdallah Mawiya had the other goals for Typhoons.
Lanky and dread-locked Steven Bikamata Steven (2) and Solomon Musisi had the consolation strikes for Sauna.
FUFA Executive committee member, Samuel Mpiima, also the chairperson of Futsal and beach soccer committee attended the closing closing.
He was joined by the FUFA Technical Director, Asuman Lubowa, Ali Mwebe (Competitions), Ahmed Hussein (Communications), Hamza Jjunju (Futsal Uganda Association CEO), Bashir Mutyaba (Futsal Competitions department)
“This has been the start and the performance is amazing. Soon we shall start the Futsal main stream futsal league” Mpiima stated.

The second edition of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Corporate Tournament has successfully climaxed at the FUFA Technical center in Njeru on Saturday evening.

FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo (left) welcomes Busoga Kingdom Prime Minister, Dr. Joseph Muvawala at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru Defending champions, National Water and Sewerage Corporation successfully retained the title as they edged debutants SSL Logistics 1-0 to win the the day long tourney.
Ahmed Swalley scored the winning goal that guided his side to the much desired victory in an exciting finale.

At the same occasion, FUFA Executive team led by the FUFA President, Eng.Moses Magogo played and won 1-0 a curtain raiser match with the Busoga Kingdom team.
The Busoga Kingdom team was led by the prime minister, Right Honorable Dr. Joseph Muvawala who played full time as a goalkeeper and made darling saves throughout the match.

FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo led the FUFA team by example with eye catching defence splitting passes The only goal of the curtain raiser was scored by FUFA Education officer, Jackson Nyiima.
In the third place play-off match, another debutant side, Civil Authority Authority defeated Uganda Premier League team 3-0.
Like last year during the maiden edition, the event was also this time round blessed with mild rains although they could not halt the thrilling action from the enthusiastic participants and spectators.

Grass-root Football: FIFA Live Your Goals programme breaks the ice in Eastern Uganda
The thrilling, lively, educative and ever interesting Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) Live Your Goals girls football programme has been officially launched in the Eastern region at the Mbale Municipal Stadium on Friday.
The launch follows the earlier launch in Kampala region that took place in the year, 2015.

FUFA National Grass-roots coordinator, Willis Muwanguzi led the stretching exercises Speaking at the launch, the FUFA national grass-root football, Willis Muwanguzi emphasized the significance of the FIFA Live your goals programme.
FIFA Live your goals girls football programme is intended to introduce the game of football to young girls so that they live to cherish this beautiful game as they grow up.

Chest ball -control was one of the skills taught to the eager-to-learn young girls many of whom played football for the first time Close to 100 children from primary and secondary schools around Mbale Municipality took part in the three and a half hour session whose main target rotated around ball control, positioning, passing, dribbling, heading as well as shooting with the intention to score.

Ball control and passing were some of the skills the young girls were taught at the FIFA LIve Your Goals girls football festival in Mbale on Friday, 6th May 2016 FUFA Technical Director, Asuman Lubowa, FUFA Education officer, Jackson Nyiima, FUFA Women Development officer Hadijah ‘Lady Mourioh’ Namuyanja, FUFA Schools delegate Maliki Wasukira and Efrance Nanjego were the main brains behind the Eastern region launch.

Lady coaches at the FIFA Live Your Goals girls football programme The coaches, who came from Jinja and Mbale included; Suzan Mukyala, Caroline Birungi, Jesica Agune, Erinah Taalye, Ritah Namutamba and Slyvia Namunno.
The chief guest at the function, Abraham Kawuka (Mbale Municipal Sports Officer) encouraged the young girls to take upon the football sport, showering special praise to FIFA and FUFA for choosing Mbale after Kampala to host this event.
According to Muwanguzi, the FIFA Live Your Goals programme will circulate to all corners of Uganda in a bid to help scout and develop talent countrywide.

FUFA contributes 100 balls towards Masaza football tournament
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has supported the 2016 Masaza football tournament that kickoff this Saturday.
The sponsorship is in form 100 footballs which were handed over by the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo to Buganda Sports ,Youth and Recreation Minister Owek. Henry Sekabembe at a the weekly FUFA press conference held on Wednesday morning at FUFA House, Mengo .
While handing over the balls, Eng. Magogo highlighted the historical relation of football in Uganda with Buganda Kingdom.
‘Ugandan football has a long history with the Buganda Kingdom not forgetting that the first FUFA President in 1924 was Sekabaka Daudi Chwa II’ noted Eng. Moses Magogo.

“People like Sekabaka Daudi Chwa, The late Pollycap Kakooza, Balamze Lwanga, Jaberi Bidandi Ssali , Lawrence Mulindwa are some the names I can mention from the endless list of Baganda who have contributed to the development of football in Uganda ‘ he added.
In reaction to the contribution, the Buganda Sports, Youth and Recreation Minister Owek. Sekabembe couldn’t hide his excitement for the visit at FUFA House in Mengo
“I am the first Buganda Minister to pay a visit at FUFA House’ said the Excited Henry Sekabembe.

He thanked FUFA for the contribution to the 2016 Masaza Cup and football in general.
Sekabembe further expressed the need to work together by all stakeholders to see the game of football moving to the top heights.
“Every one should accept and play his/her role if we want the game of football to be taken to another level ‘’ Said Owek. Sekabembe
In his conclusion he promised to work together with the Federation so as to keep that long time relationship and develop football in Uganda.
The Minister later paid a courtesy visit to 102.1 FUFA fm .
In relation to the above, FUFA is set to sign a memorandum of understating with the Buganda Kingdom which will contribute to the technical and administrative development of football in Kingdom and Uganda.
The Buganda Minister was accompanied by Adam Sematiko the Sports coordinator and Faridah Bongoley the Masaza Cup Media Co-ordinator.

Indoor football (Futsal) in Uganda continues to garner steam at a very steady rate.
This is attributed of the end-less endeavors put in place by the Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) as fully mandated by Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to run and develop this virgin version of football.
The first ever Futsal mini league has been going on for the past month with action at the Lugogo Indoor Arena every Tuesday night.
“It is an after work arrangement which suits my working and playing plans. I love futsal. Thanks to FAU and FUFA for this game” Muhammed Beldarine, one of the admirers of the game confesses.
On Tuesday, 3rd May 2016, it will be match day 10 with four matches lined up.
With the current table leaders out of action, this will be a golden chance for the two chasing clubs, Accumulators United and Riham to play catch up to the top team.
Typhoons plays Italex in the opening game at 7 p.m. Second placed Riham will take on Zak Sports in the second game.

Excited fans turn up at Lugogo Indoor arena for futsal every Tuesday night Accumlators versus LFC will be the third game before FC Patriots against Emporio Milano to crown the night.

Futsal is a quick and exciting version of Indoor football. Only played by five players per side with unlimited substitutions. The futsal mini league is the first of its kind in the entire CECAFA region with plans for the main league in advanced stages by the stage of the next season.
Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) is entirely responsible for the entire match day preparations, officiatation with a running active secretariat.

The national second division league (FUFA Big League) returns to the frey with five matches lined up on Thursday, 28th April 2016.
Key on the agenda of the matches at stake will be the obvious battle to save self from relegation and many other clubs shall be engaged in action face as they merely play for pride and fair play.
A case in point is Lira United’s match away to Ndejje University in Luweero.
Whereas Ndejje University has virtually secured a play-off slot, Lira is still entangled in the fight against relegation.
CRO plays Bukedea Town Council at Bukedea primary school play ground. Like Lira United, CRO requires all the maximum points to play it safe from relegation mathematics.
In some of the Rwenzori group games, Masavu who are based in Entebbe at Kitubulu play ground entertains Kireka United at the Katabi Gombolola play ground.
Fresh from Monday’s 3 all draw at Citizens in Mbarara, Masavu has already secured a play-off slot alongside Kirinya Jinja S.S and the run away leaders, Proline who just need three points to be promoted to the Azam Uganda Premier League.
Kampala side, Hope Doves is away to Sun City at the Nyakasanga play ground in Kasese District.
After Thursday’s games, the FUFA Big league will get a one day break before resuming on Saturday with three games.
Three teams from the FUFA Big league replace those relegated from the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Second Division (FUFA Big League): Action resumes Thursday
The national second division league, the FUFA Big league had one game played on Wednesday with Masavu defeating Wakiso United in the continuation of the aborted match.
The game was played at Wakiso district headquarters play ground for only 19 minutes.
After the 19 minutes, no side had seen the back of the net but before the replay, the match was 2-1 in favour of Masavu F.C.
