The FUFA Licensing Committee has confirmed that three clubs are struggling to meet the requirements to get the green light for inspection of infrastructure hence issuance of a License to play in the 2017/2018 Azam Uganda Premier League season.
Sc Villa Jogoo, Police FC and newcomers Masavu have failed to meet the requirements which wil come with a fine of 500,000/- per club.
The initial stages needed clubs to present documents to update their files with Mandatory submission of documents as per the FUFA Club Licensing regulations.
In a communication to all the clubs that passed and failed the first stage;
Sc Villa failed to present the Club CEO’s Contract and Budget for next season.
Police FC-yet to pay the club and players license fees, present the contract of the head coach and his coaching certificate, Club CEO’s FUFA Certificate and contract
Masavu FC-Yet to present form F202 and the registration fees, Players’ contracts, Club and player licensing fees
Failure for the above clubs to meet the deadline shall mean no participation in the Azam Uganda Premier League next season.
Deadline has been extended to 18th August, 2017 for the three clubs.
The communication also indicates that the 13 clubs Soana FC, BUL FC, Maroons FC, Express FC, KCCA FC, URA FC, Onduparaka FC, Bright Stars FC, Mbarara City FC, Vipers SC, Proline, Kirinya Jinja SS, and UPDF FC will be inspected between 18th and 20th August, 2017 by the FUFA Licensing Committee.

The Uganda Cranes safely arrived in the Rwandese capital Kigali ahead of their Total CHAN 2018 final qualifying round return leg against the Amavubi stars.
Speaking to the local media in Kigali on arrival, interim coach Moses Basena promised the Rwandese good football on Saturday when the two teams take to the pitch for a berth to next year’s CHAN finals in Kenya.
‘We are happy to come to a country where the people are very enthusiastic about football. We promise to give them good football. We may have a three goal advantage coming into this fixture but this game is 180 minutes and only half of that was played’ Basena commented.

The Cranes are carrying a 3-nil goal advantage from last weekend’s fixture played at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The Uganda National Women senior football team has been registered by FUFA for the 2018 Total Women Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ghana.
The latest development is good news for women football in Uganda after FUFA took a decision in 2014 to re-organise women football in the country so as to create a pool of players to form various national teams for future international engagements.
The news was confirmed by the FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein.
‘We believe the stage is set for our women football players to play against the best on the continent. The Crested Cranes have been entered into the 2018 Total Women Africa Cup of Nations. Full details of the qualification process will be confirmed by CAF’ said Hussein.
The FUFA Women Elite League that started three years ago will provide the bulk of players to feature in the National team.
‘We are glad that the Women Elite League and other football competitions organized and sanctioned by FUFA will be the basis of selecting players for the National team’ added Hussein
He added;
‘We also have young, skillful and talented players playing abroad but all these will be considered as per technical demands of the team’
The 13th edition of the Africa Women cup of Nations is a biennial international football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the women’s national teams of Africa. The tournament will be held in Ghana from 17 November to 1 December 2018.
Ghana qualified automatically as hosts, while the remaining 7 slots will be determined by the qualifying rounds, which will begin in February 2018.
The tournament also doubles as the African qualifiers to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France with the top three teams from Africa qualifying.
USA is the defending Champion of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Uganda Cranes squad for the return leg of the Total CHAN 2018 qualifiers against Rwanda has left the country on Thursday afternoon in buoyant mood.
The delegation led by outgoing FUFA Executive Committee Member Sam Lwere left Entebbe International Airport aboard Rwanda Airlines on flight WB 435.
From the players, technical team to the accompanying officials, all looked set and sounded confident to work and earn the desired result with the CHAN 2018 slot at hand.
“We are traveling to Rwanda on a leveled ground. We start the second leg at 0-0. We need to work hard as a unit in the return leg to guarantee qualification” Interim coach Moses Basena told www.fufa.co.ug.

Earlier in the morning, the team conducted the last training session at the Africa Bible University play ground in Lubowa for close to one hour before boarding the team bus and headed to Entebbe International Airport.

Kasana, also the team manager had traveled earlier to ensure a smooth transition and flow of affairs when the team sets foot in Rwanda.

The Uganda Cranes team has intensified training as days for the final round of the TOTAL CHAN 2018 qualifier return leg against Rwanda draw closer. On Tuesday, Interim coaches Moses Basena and his assistant Fred Kajoba stepped up the gear with the sessions by switching the training to morning hours at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo.
Twenty one players were present and are optimistic of a positive result on Saturday.
Team Captain Bernard Muwanga said;
‘It is not over yet despite carrying a 3-0 lead from the first leg. We won the first battle but the war continues in Kigali on Saturday.We still need to win the return leg to accomplish the job’

A big turn up has been recorded as 43 coaches enrolled for the CAF C Football Coaching course on Monday 14th August, 2017 at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru (Buikwe).
Some of the aspects to be covered during the two week course are; football administration ethics and modules, Sports science, Sports psychology, football refereeing dynamics, goalkeeping ethics, physiotherapy and the cordial football relationship between the coach and the media.

The Uganda Cranes returned to training on Monday 14th August 2017 at the Star Times Stadium Lugogo ahead of the CHAN 2018 qualifiers final round return leg against Rwanda on Saturday in Kigali.
Fourteen players reported for the evening training session under the watchful eyes of interim coaches Moses Basena and Fred Kajoba.
The players were taken through recovery drills composed of light trots, ball work and shooting from close range.

After the training, the team tactician Moses Basena was impressed by the players’ response during the impulse check training and said that they need not to relax because ahed of the retrun of the return leg. Uganda Cranes silenced Rwanda 3-0 on Saturday at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
‘We still have much to do for the game against Rwanda. We won the first half which our opponents can reverse the result’ noted Basena
He added that the Vipers SC players missed the session because of club engagements which was communicated earlier.

FUFA has learnt of the death of Mzee Nikaroni Apitta, founder of Boroboro Tigers FC. The Public servant who was the father of Commissioner for Sports Mr. Lamex Omara Apitta passed away on Tuesday 8th August, 2017 at his home in Boroboro, Lira District.
FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo was shocked upon receiving the sad news.
‘We all know the value of the old man towards the development of football in Northern region. The country has lost a dedicated servant of the beautiful game’ said FUFA President.
‘Our Condolences go out to the Commissioner of Sports in the Ministry of Education and Sports Mr. Lamex Omara Apitta on the loss of his father Mzee Nikaroni Apitta’ added Magogo.

Burial will be held on Saturday 19th August, 2017 in Amoro Sub Country, Lira.

The Uganda Cranes technical team and players remain confident of a convincing home performance ahead of the TOTAL CHAN 2018 two legged qualifiers against neighbours, Rwanda.
Interim coaches Moses Basena and Fred Kajoba are confident of a great home performance when the team faces Rwanda at the St Mary’s Stadium in the first leg on Saturday.

“We have done the preparations right from Namboole last week todate. All the players are mentally and physically prepared” Basena told www.fufa.co.ug.
Kajoba, equally added to the voice and rallied the fans to come in big numbers and cheer the team unstop on Saturday.
“We are at home and i call upon the fans to come in big numbers and give the due support to the team and players” Kajoba added.
Senior players on the team as Savio Kabugo, Nico Wakiro Wadada, Benjamin Ochan and Bernard Muwanga are also upbeat ahead of the match.
“This is the match we have at stake to perform well and get a good goal margin before the return leg next week.We shall give our best” team captain Wadada assured.

Kabugo called upon the 12th man (fans) to come in big numbers to give them the due support.
“The fact that we shall be at home gives us an edge over our opponents. I also call upon the fans to come and support us, encourage the players from start to finish” Kabugo noted.
Meanwhile, Uganda Cranes will train at 2 p.m on Friday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende before paving way for the visitors to feel the field of play as mandated by the CAF match competition rules and regulations.
There are no injury concerns to the team as the players are fully fit and ready for the task before them.
