Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Head of Communications Ahmed Hussein held a successful interactive brain storming session with members of the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) on Monday.
This was during the Nile Special sponsored monthly assembly which takes place at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala every first Monday of the new month.
Hussein hailed the role played by the media in the dedicated and spirited coverage of sports (football in particular) in Uganda.
He thus appreciated the tasks undertaken by the journalists especially those under the USPA umbrella.
FUFA requires the media for the promotion of the beautiful game in Uganda. We are therefore grateful of the role you are undertaking.
The Federation’s Communications and Media Manager highlighted to the journalists the change in a global trend as regards with undertaking accreditation prior to local and international events.
Journalists are required to follow the accreditation guidelines so that they get passes and cards to cover matches without any hustle.
It is a trend that we have to positively embrace since it also helps in planning and accessing areas which allow media to execute their work.

He also highlighted on the do’s and don’ts for the reporters in the coverage of events and football matches in particular before, during and for post match press conferences.
‘From the training sessions to matches, the media should give respect to the specific regulations set by event organisers. Sometimes there are special rules that guide on the coverage of closed door training sessions and official trainings as designed by the teams; the former USPA General Secretary, who also remains an active member of the history laden sports journalists body added.
The media personalities positively interacted with the Communications Manager, many praising the internal order the FUFA Communications Department has set up before international matches, FUFA events and some posing scenarios that could be improved for the better.
