FUFA’s strong delegation of President Eng. Moses Magogo, 1st Vice President Justus Mugisha and Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson will fly out tonight to Mexico for the 66th FIFA Congress on 12th and 13th May, 2016.
The FIFA Congress is the organisation’s supreme body.
During their stay in Mexico, the FUFA top brass will hold bilateral meetings outside the Congress with the new FIFA President Gianni Infantino all aimed at developing Ugandan football.
The FIFA Congress will also discuss developmental issues about football around the globe.
‘Football Development programmes in Uganda will be the agenda in our meeting with FIFA President. We shall make use of every opportunity to discuss about football development while in Mexico’ said FUFA President Eng. Magogo.
In the absence of Eng. Magogo, the 2nd Vice President Darius Mugoye is the Ag. FUFA President while Decolas Kiiza is the Ag. Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Mugoye will also represent the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo at the swearing ceremony of President Elect of the Republic of Uganda HE General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday at Kololo Ceremonial grounds.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations has invited the Chairmen of its 32 Members to appraise them on the status of FUFA’s compliance to the Statutory Instrument No 38 as required by the National Council of Sports.
The meeting will be held at FUFA House on Tuesday 10th May, 2016 starting at 10 am

· The 8 Regional Associations; Eastern, Buganda, North East, Western, Kitara, West Nile, Northern and Kampala
Federation of Uganda Football Associations has started implementing the new system adopted by the 64th FIFA Congress which abolished football agents and replaced them with Intermediaries.
FIFA requires all its Member Associations to regulate and register anyone who intends to carry out Intermediary activities as defined in both the FIFA and FUFA regulations on working with Intermediaries with effect from 1st April, 2015.

The second edition of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Corporate Tournament has successfully climaxed at the FUFA Technical center in Njeru on Saturday evening.

Defending champions, National Water and Sewerage Corporation successfully retained the title as they edged debutants SSL Logistics 1-0 to win the the day long tourney.
Ahmed Swalley scored the winning goal that guided his side to the much desired victory in an exciting finale.
At the same occasion, FUFA Executive team led by the FUFA President, Eng.Moses Magogo played and won 1-0 a curtain raiser match with the Busoga Kingdom team.
The Busoga Kingdom team was led by the prime minister, Right Honorable Dr. Joseph Muvawala who played full time as a goalkeeper and made darling saves throughout the match.

The only goal of the curtain raiser was scored by FUFA Education officer, Jackson Nyiima.
In the third place play-off match, another debutant side, Civil Authority Authority defeated Uganda Premier League team 3-0.
Like last year during the maiden edition, the event was also this time round blessed with mild rains although they could not halt the thrilling action from the enthusiastic participants and spectators.

The Pepsi National Beach Soccer league play-offs kickoff on Sunday, 8th May 2016 at Lido beach in Entebbe.
Before the quarter final matches, Kabalagala Rangers play Kampala City All Stars to determine who remains in the top flight league and who is relegated.
The other two relegated teams are Miami Kops and Uhuru Titans.
In the opening quarter final matches, Kampala International University play St Lawrence.
Stormers take on the defending champions, MUBS in the subsequent matches.
MUBS’ head coach, Charles Ayiekho has promised a spirited display to see his team defend the crown they won last year.
“We are set to play our hearts out to qualify” Ayiekho vowed.
Dalumba International play last year’s losing finalists, Nkumba Select before Real Galaticals entertain Talented.
Last year’s MVP and top scorer, Mathias Kigonya, John Kokas Opejo and captain, Paul Lwere will be the main men to watch out for Dalumba International.
Nkumba Select will look upon Uganda Sand Cranes vice captain, Douglas Muganga, Faizo Muwawo and striker Roch Somoka.

Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) runs the national beach soccer league.
The thrilling, lively, educative and ever interesting Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) Live Your Goals girls football programme has been officially launched in the Eastern region at the Mbale Municipal Stadium on Friday.
The launch follows the earlier launch in Kampala region that took place in the year, 2015.

Speaking at the launch, the FUFA national grass-root football, Willis Muwanguzi emphasized the significance of the FIFA Live your goals programme.
FIFA Live your goals girls football programme is intended to introduce the game of football to young girls so that they live to cherish this beautiful game as they grow up.
Chest ball -control was one of the skills taught to the eager-to-learn young girls many of whom played football for the first time
Close to 100 children from primary and secondary schools around Mbale Municipality took part in the three and a half hour session whose main target rotated around ball control, positioning, passing, dribbling, heading as well as shooting with the intention to score.

The coaches, who came from Jinja and Mbale included; Suzan Mukyala, Caroline Birungi, Jesica Agune, Erinah Taalye, Ritah Namutamba and Slyvia Namunno.
The chief guest at the function, Abraham Kawuka (Mbale Municipal Sports Officer) encouraged the young girls to take upon the football sport, showering special praise to FIFA and FUFA for choosing Mbale after Kampala to host this event.
According to Muwanguzi, the FIFA Live Your Goals programme will circulate to all corners of Uganda in a bid to help scout and develop talent countrywide.
Uganda stayed in position 75 according to the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday 5th May 2016.
Uganda has 491 points and lie 16th in Africa.
All teams in the Top 50 maintained their positions this month because there was none of any A-international matches played in April 2016.
Opponents in AFCON Group D Qualifiers:
Uganda’s opponents in the 2017 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers Burkina Faso, Botswana and Comoros also stayed in 75th, 91st and 159th positions respectively.
In the region, Uganda maintains the highest ranking followed by Rwanda (87), Kenya who dropped a slot to 116th, Burundi (122), Sudan (128) and Tanzania (129).
The Philippines may have failed to qualify for the next round of 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in the AFC region, but the Azkals get to celebrate a milestone in the May Ranking. Thomas Dooley’s men moved up one rank this month to reach their best ever position on the FIFA/Cola-Cola World Ranking (115).
For May, UEFA has 30 teams in the Top 50, CONMEBOL 8, CAF 7, CONCACAF 3, AFC 2 and OFC 0.
The next rankings will be released on 2nd June 2016.
With less than 48 hours left to the kickoff of the 2016 FUFA Corporate tournament, some teams have engaged different gears and gone ahead to release their squads, team captains, colours of their jerseys and stars players. However some teams have decided to keep the identity of their coaches remain anonymous as this has created a lot of excitement.
Twelve (12) teams have confirmed participation for the tournament that has got partnerships from Pepsi, Tango Sport and Power Horse.

Vipers Juniors team are the champions of the 2015/16 FUFA Juniors Elite league.
This is after the team’s 4-1 post match penalty victory that followed a goal-less draw of normal time in the final played at Kawempe Muslim S.S play ground on Wednesday evening.
Vipers Junior goalie, Derrick Ochan was the hero saving two penalties to give his team the advantage as his teammates successfully converted.
FUFA second Vice president, Darius Mugoye was the chief guest at the well attended closing play-off matches.
Players and officials of the top three clubs received medals of recognition with the excelling players given trophies and special medals as well.
All the 16 premier league sides had junior teams playing the FUFA Juniors Elite league as a requirement that was put in place by FUFA in the club licensing procedure in the road to professionalization of league football in the country.
Clubs that will be relegated from the top tier league will automatically have their U-17 sides relegated to the second U-17 league group.

The minister of Sports , Youth and Recreation in the Buganda Kingdom Owek. Sekabembe Henry paid a special visit of FUFA House where he held a cordial meeting with the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo.
During his one and hours stay at FUFA House, Owek. Sekabembe was part of the FUFAS Weekly press conference where FUFA announced its package of 100 balls towards the 2016 Masaza Cup and later taken on a guided tour of the 1012.1 FUFA fm by the federation’s Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein and FUFA President.

The FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo made a strong statement on refereeing when the 22 FIFA Referees were receiving an assortment of equipment from the world soccer governing body at FUFA House on Wednesday morning. This was during the weekly press conference in Mengo.
The brief ceremony was graced by the FUFA president, the chairman, FUFA Referees standing committee, Chris Kalibala before the members of the media and Owek. Sekabembe Henry-minister of Sports, Youth and Recreation in the Buganda Kingdom
Handing over FIFA Referees’ equipment, the FUFA President appreciated the role played by referees with a call for continued commitment towards their service in football development.
‘I applaud the referees for the good good job done so far at this stage of the season’ noted Magogo.
‘We are committed to improving the referees welfare. We increased their remuneration per match from 20,000/- to 150,000/- at the beginning of the year’ added Magogo.
‘We believe that there is still alot to be done in this area but we are happy with the referees’ commitment’
The FUFA President highlighted on the loose talk by some people that there is match fixing in local football.
‘Such loose statements put the game int0 disrepute. We call upon the public and club officials with such information to contact the federation so that we carry out the necessary investigations into such allegations’ said Magogo.
We have competent bodies (Ethics and Integrity Committee) to handle such matters.
‘These bodies follow up on every activity in football. If they deem it unsporting and putting the game into disrepute, they will invite you to their committee to clear the air’ said the FUFA President.
Kalibala challenged the referees to stick to professionalism to serve football to perfection. He also requested many national referees to fullfil their obligations towards the Uganda Football Referees’ Association;
‘I urge referees to affiliate to Uganda Football Referees’ Association (UFRA) body’ Chairman FUFA Referees standing committee, Chris Kalibala.
The FIFA referees also included the three beach soccer referees that Uganda has Senteza Ahmed, Shafik Mugerwa and Ivan Kintu Bayige.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has supported the 2016 Masaza football tournament that kickoff this Saturday.
The sponsorship is in form 100 footballs which were handed over by the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo to Buganda Sports ,Youth and Recreation Minister Owek. Henry Sekabembe at a the weekly FUFA press conference held on Wednesday morning at FUFA House, Mengo .
While handing over the balls, Eng. Magogo highlighted the historical relation of football in Uganda with Buganda Kingdom.
‘Ugandan football has a long history with the Buganda Kingdom not forgetting that the first FUFA President in 1924 was Sekabaka Daudi Chwa II’ noted Eng. Moses Magogo.

Eng Magogo added that the historical participation of Buganda Kingdom in football needs to be mentioned in terms of playing, coaching and administration.
“People like Sekabaka Daudi Chwa, The late Pollycap Kakooza, Balamze Lwanga, Jaberi Bidandi Ssali , Lawrence Mulindwa are some the names I can mention from the endless list of Baganda who have contributed to the development of football in Uganda ‘ he added.

“I am the first Buganda Minister to pay a visit at FUFA House’ said the Excited Henry Sekabembe.
He thanked FUFA for the contribution to the 2016 Masaza Cup and football in general.
Sekabembe further expressed the need to work together by all stakeholders to see the game of football moving to the top heights.

In his conclusion he promised to work together with the Federation so as to keep that long time relationship and develop football in Uganda.

In relation to the above, FUFA is set to sign a memorandum of understating with the Buganda Kingdom which will contribute to the technical and administrative development of football in Kingdom and Uganda.
The Buganda Minister was accompanied by Adam Sematiko the Sports coordinator and Faridah Bongoley the Masaza Cup Media Co-ordinator.

2016 FUFA Corporate Tournament: Saturday, 7th May 2016
At FUFA Technical Center, Njeru (Kick-off: 9 a.m)
One of Uganda’s fastest growing sports marketing companies Tango Sports based in Jinja has been a key player in the FUFA Corporate Tournament whose 2nd edition will be held this Saturday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
Tango Sport headed by Joseph Mutaka-one of the leading sports journalists in Eastern Region signed a memorandum of Understanding with the FUFA Marketing Department to promote the tournament.
‘We are impressed with the work the company has done for us ever since we signed a partnership with them. We believe they will complete the assignments to have a successful tournament on Saturday in Njeru’ said FUFA Marketing Director Esther Musoke.
Tango Sports has been assigned to market and prpomote the tournament in the Eastern region. They are also responsible for sensitizing the public about the tournament so that we draw big crowds come D-Day’ added Musoke.
At the tournament Tangosport will also provide entertainment.
Draws held
The draws for the three groups at the second FUFA Corporate tournament were held on Wednesday morning during the weekly press conference at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.
FUFA Finance director, Decolas Kiiza supervised the draws on behalf of the FUFA Competitions Director, Ali Mwebe, who was at the closure of the FUFA Juniors U-17 league.

The tournament winner will bag Ug.shs 1M as cash prize, gold medals and a trophy. Pepsi will provide the refreshments, tents and chairs.

The FUFA Competitions Committee has confirmed that the semifinals of the FUFA Juniors U-17 League will be played on Wednesday 4th May, 2016 at Kawempe Muslim Secondary School sports ground starting at 10am.
According to the Competitions Director Ali Mwebe, all four teams were confirmed after the final games of the regular season. The top two teams from each group advanced to the last four stage.
Bright Stars FC U-17 will play KCCA Academy at 10am while Vipers vs BUL FC at midday.
The final will be played at 4.30 pm on the same ground.
