The exercise had not hitches at all especially for Brian Nsubuga and Ronnie Kalema who brightened their chances of returning to the FIFA list having missed out for almost a year.

Both referees looked sharp and energetics as they performed the high entensity tests of running 12 laps and the sprints that check on their endurance.

Uganda currently has three centre FIFA referees -Dennis Batte, Muhabi Alex and Ssali Mashood but Nsubuga and Kalema were part of the initial five in 2013 however their tight schedules made it difficult for them to perform the fitness tests at the begging of the year.

The duo embarked on a rigorous gym programme that helped them keep fit for the tests today which they eventually passed.

Meanwhile, national referees have today undergone medical examinations ahead of Saturday’s fitness tests at Namboole.
