Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has today subjected referees through the medical examination at FUFA House in Mengo.
The referees will over the weekend undergo the mandatory physical examinations at Nelson Mandela Stadium.

Newly appointed National referees Physical Fitness Instructors Ali Kalyango and Segonga Muhmed will conduct and supervise the entire exercise.
The Fitness test is for the FIFA and National referees.

The FUFA Finance Director Decolas Kiiza today announced the charges for the upcoming 2015 Nations cup group matches involving Uganda Cranes.
The charges as used in the home games for Uganda Cranes against Madagascar and Mauritania have remained unchanged.
However there will be a special ticket at discounted rate of 50,000/= which will be on market to allow a fan watch all the three home games for Uganda Cranes against Guinea, Ghana and Togo.
‘Our charges were set when we kicked off this campaign. We believe these figures will help improve on the attendance for the upcoming games’ said Kiiza
Kiiza revealed that there is a budget of 2.2bn Shillings for the eight matches in three months, as 400M will be spent on the Uganda U17 that plays Zambia next month.

In his key note address to the media about the launch of the 2015 Nations cup group stage campaign during today’s press conference at FUFA House, Eng Moses Magogo said that ‘According to our plans and belief for journey to Morocco, it is a mission possible’
The FUFA President was flanked by the federation’s chairman Legal Committee Alex Luganda, spokesperson Ahmed Hussein, Finance Director Decolas Kiiza, Competitions manager Ali Mwebe and Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic.
He made appeals to the public and various stakeholders seeking support towards football in Uganda.
Magogo thanked individuals and institutions for their support through the preliminary stage of the 2015 Nations cup qualifiers that saw Uganda Cranes win three out of four games against Madagascar and Mauritania.
It is unprecedented to have eight (8) matches in three months. It is unusual as our dream to qualify for the finals will be determined in just three months’ said Magogo.
He added ‘No star player, No star President. No star coach can achieve this dream without support’
FUFA needs support from every Ugandan.
‘If every Ugandan gives in their support on what we are planning, we shall be able to achieve our dreams’ remarked Magogo.
The leader of Ugandan football also called upon the clubs, administrators, players, fans and the media to give total support to the two national teams-Uganda Cranes and Uganda Cubs (U17) who will play four matches in a space of 22 days starting 5th September, 2014.
Magogo thanked the government for the support they have given to the federation, security, religious groups, media, fans, sponsors Airtel, NIC and Nile Breweries.
‘We have already engaged the government and we are hopeful of a positive response’ said Magogo as he told the media.
He urged the media to condemn the negative energy by some people geared at undermining the work of the federation and football at large.
The president also said that the fans can play a key role in improving on the federation’s revenue by paying to watch home games and buying Cranes replica kits.
‘There is a reason why Cranes never loses at home. The reason is the 12th player-fans’ said Magogo.

Having confirmed their participation in the group stages of the 2015 Nations cup qualifiers, FUFA will launch the campaign for Uganda Cranes and Uganda Cubs (U17) in which they will play eight games in three months this year starting in September.
FUFA will announce plans for the eight games tomorrow during the weekly press conference at 10 am.
Uganda U17 have a two legged fixture against Zambia while Cranes will play Ghana, Guinea and Togo.

The FUFA general assembly exercising its mandate under the FUFA statutes has today passed amendments to its statutes in compliance with the national council of sports regulations 2014.
Key among the issues; was the clarification that the body in charge of football in Uganda is FUFA and not FUFA limited.

The Other element was a clear description of the mandate and powers of the association’s legal arm, and these powers were clearly captured in the adopted amendments by the assembly.

The general assembly has overwhelmingly and unanimously passed he amendments in the presence of deputy Secretary General National council of sports Mr. David Katende Ssemakula who represented the council.
Prior to the discussion of the proposed amendments by the FUFA assembly, the same were sent to FIFA legal department that also made its input to amendment process and appreciated FUFA’s efforts in streamlining its legal regime.
The newly amended statutes are to be sent to FIFA within the next 48 hours for approval after which signed copies will be availed to the members of the assembly and posted on our official communication forums.

Ugandan side, Kampala City Council football club kick started the 2014 cecafa club cup on a bright note with a 2 – 1 victory over Kenyan champions Gor Mahia in a game played at Amahoro stadium on Friday.
Three Uganda Cranes players scored in that fixture. First, striker Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma gave the Kenyan champions a 27th minute minute.
Then, second half substitute Brian Majwega equalised for the Ugandan champions seven minutes after recess and later Umony netted the winner in the 88th minute.

The FUFA Competitions Directorate has set 28th August as the tentative date for the kick-off of the Big league that has attracted 25 clubs-but will be divided into two pools.
The announcement was made today by the FUFA Competitions manager Ali Mwebe at FUFA House in Mengo.
There was change coming up with groups as the geographical local of teams wasn’t considered this time like in the past editions of the league.

The meeting also attended by FUFA Licensing Board members and representatives of the 25 teams including FUFA Super League relegated sides Proline, CRO and Masaka LC were also informed that the inspection of facilities will be conducted ten days before the kickoff.

The top placed team in each group qualifies for the FUFA Super League. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams feature in the play offs complete the quota for the three teams joining the top flight.

Just moments before one of the national junior team’s training sessions, a gentleman believed to be in his mid 20’s is brushing off the wastes from the synthetic turf at Njeru technical center.
On first sight, Innocent Bagenayabo, the Njeru technical turf maintenance officer will straight away reflect the signs of a diligent and committed workman.
Since 2009, Bagenayabo has been executing the daily routine tasks of maintaining Njeru technical turf among other core assignments at the center. He never complains and loves his job. You may need to make the trip to Njeru to prove this for yourself.

Hailing from Kisoro, Bagenayabo was one of the lucky employees during the construction of the first FIFA Goal project in Njeru.
Back then, his service at the center was exceptional that the supervisors were proud of the work he executed.
When the project ended, he was appointed as the head in charge of maintaining the turf and the center facilities.

‘I was trained the basics of cleaning the turf with the tractor that wheels a cleaning brush, replacing damaged turf portions and to date I have no regrets having taken up the job’ he adds, with a smile
flashing across his face.
Sole Bread Winner
Today, Bagenayabo at just 25 is the sole bread winner for his family of three – his fiancee and two children.
Layan Tugume and Edgar Shimye happily live and enjoy seeing their father going about his routine work that includes sweeping and cleaning the turf as well as maintaining the center facilities- the accommodation and lock rooms.
When the national teams-Uganda Cranes and Cubs trained at Njeru technical center, he never found time to rest.
He made sure the surrounding environment is cleared to avoid any dangerous reptiles from finding their way to the residential rooms.
I try my best to keep this place clean because I want the guests to find it neat
said Bagenayabo.
With the FUFA Extra Ordinary assembly set for this Saturday in Njeru, the man from kisoro will be on alert to keep the place extra clean.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the list of referees to undergo the fitness tests next week at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
The exercise will kick off on 14th with medical tests through Friday 15th and Saturday 16th August, 2014.
It will be handled by newly appointed National referees Physical Fitness Instructors Ali Kalyango and Segonga Muhmed.
The Fitness test is for the FIFA and National referees.

Uganda Cranes’ traveling contingent that picked the1-0 away victory in Mauritania have returned home safely on Tuesday afternoon.
The FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo who was also the leader of delegation, had only 14 players who returned.

At a special lunch organized for the players at Entebbe Flight Motel, FUFA President, Eng Moses Magogo appreciated the players’ and the entire team’s efforts towards the away victory.
Eng. Magogo paid special tribute to the President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who financially facilitated the two trips of Uganda Cranes and the National U-17 teams.
“I thank President Museveni, the fans and the media at large for the good heart. We have been at negative two step, now we are at zero as we look forwards the group phase of qualifiers”, the president remarked in his brief speech.
Team skipper Andy Mwesigwa hailed the level of commitment exhibited by the players.
The Cranes contingent was welcomed at the airport by the FUFA Vice presidents Justus Mugisha, Darius Mugoye, Chairman Technical Hamid Juma, FUFA delegates Keneth Musisi (Kawempe, Anthony Tumwesigye (Uganda Beach soccer Association) and Finance Director Decolas Kiiza.
Mugoye who spoke of behalf of the federation told the players that there is a strong belief that the Cranes can reach greater heights and play at the 2015 Nations cup finals.

It is not true that FUFA has set the charges for the three games that will see Uganda Cranes play at home against Ghana, Togo and Guinea. FUFA would like to assure the football fans that there are no plans to make any changes from the entry fees charged when Cranes played Madagascar and Mauritania at home. We request you to ignore the rumors and also be aware of such misleading information in the future not only on the National teams but also other FUFA sanctioned related activities.
