    Champions and Table leaders KCC FC registered a resounding 4-0 win against relegation strugglers Proline FC in the FUFA Super League match played at KCCA stadium in Lugogo this evening. Matching from a 3-2 defeat to Express on Tuesday on the same pitch, KCC FC were playing Proline who had won their last game 2-0 against bottom placed CRO FC.

    George Nsimbe went into the game thinking about maximum points and his boys never disappointed him. Ivan Ntege netted a brace while Tony Odour and Ghadafi Kiwanuka got the other goals for the ‘Kasasiro boys’ who went to 52 point but with a game in hand.

    In Mbale, URA FC remained in third position despite hammering CRO 4-0. Robert Ssentongo netted a double while Musa Docca and Feni Ali were also on target for URA.

    Sports club Victoria University (SCVU) who drew 0-0 with Simba at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

    Elsewhere Express FC edged Bright Stars 1-0 at Wankulukuku with Julius Ogwang scoring just three minutes to half time.

    At Nakivubo stadium SC Villa drew -2 with Vipers FC. Miya Farouk and Joseph Mpande scored for Vipers while Karim Ndugwa and Emenayo Victor got their names on the score sheet for the Jogoos.

    In Kavumba, Police won 3-2 against Entebbe FC. Nyanzi Ronald netted a double while Kawooya Frank got the other. Veteran striker Kinene Yusuf scored twice for Entebbe.

    The Secretary of the Uganda Ex-Internationals Football Association Muhamood Kateregga has released the provisional squad that will take part in the mini football Gala organized by FUFA to kick start the 2015 AFCON campaign when the draw is conducted in Cairo, Egypt.

    Uganda Cranes main sponsors Airtel, partners NIC and Nile special will form one team while FUFA XI will be releasing their star studded squads later today.

    The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) and the Ex-Internationals (former Uganda Cranes players) have also been invited to play in the mini football gala.

    The mini gala football tournament will start at 9am till 3pm.

    The FUFA XI will be led by its President Engineer Moses Magogo. Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Micho Sredojevich and his entire technical team plus coaches of various National teams will play for FUFA XI which will also have players from the five bodies (Assembly, standing Committees, Judicial Bodies, Secretariat and Executive) that make the Association.

    Week 28 of the FUFA Super league gets underway this Friday with 6 different fixtures at various venues.

    Proline football club, currently lagging two places from bottom in the 14th place (with 21 points) hosts the league’s defending champions, Kampala City Council (KCC), who lead the 16 team log with 49 points, same as SCVU.

    Owing to the fact that Proline is desperately fighting against relegation and KCC are targeting consolidating the lead and win their 8th league title are two factors that classify the fixture as a thriller.

    Another game envisaged in the same periphery is that of the second place Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) against the army side, Simba. The two sides will play at Namboole Stadium.

    Fred Kajoba’s Simba is 12th with 26 points, facing intense pressure from the chasing pack of Entebbe (23) and Proline (21).

    Express fresh from that surprising 3– 2 win over KCC at home on Tuesday faces Coach Livingstone Mbabazi’s Bright Stars at the Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

    Both sides would wish to run away to safety to avoid the possible relegation mathematics.

    Angelo Lonyesi’s Police FC hosts Alex Gitta’s Entebbe at Kavuma Recreation Stadium whie third placed URA travels to the usually unpredictable Mbale Municipal Stadium to face the bottom placed Child’s Restoration Organization (CRO).

    CRO has already held SC Villa, Express FC, Kira Young and Vipers to draws in the second round at Mbale.

    Vipers start life minus their long serving doctor, John Ssenkumba (RIP) as they make that short journey to Nakivubo war memorial stadium to play the 16 time record league champions, Sports Club Villa.

    Meanwhile FUFA Vice president (FSL) Mujib Kasule has confirmed that a minute of silence will be observed in today’s FSL matches in memory of the departed John Ssenkumba who passed away in a motor accident in Adjumani. Ssenkumba was Vipers FC’s doctor.

     Ronnie Kalema has  passed the mandatory physical fitness test that he had failed on March 24th  2014.  After a four week intensive training, Kalema together with William Ssenkumba were taken through the test  by CAF Physical fitness instructor Haruna Kebba at Namboole Stadium. This was after a both made formal request to FUFA which the Federation granted.

    The exercise was conducted today.

  • FUFA appoints Marketing Director

    Ms Helen Kirunda has been appointed the first ever Marketing Director of FUFA.

    Helen who has vast experience in marketing will head a department that has two new other appointments-Esther Musoke as the Marketing Manager and Hassan Mugerwa Takoowa as Marketing Officer. They will be stationed at FUFA House.

    The trio has overall responsibility for coming up with marketing strategies and creating opportunities that will raise revenues to support the federation’s activities.

    ‘The appointments will be valuable to the FUFA Secretariat and we are hopeful that the new personnel will add value to the federation and football at large’ said FUFA Chief Executive officer Edgar Watson

    The trio will start work officially on 1st May, 2014.

    The function will be used to kick start the 2015 AFCON draw.

    Express has defeated KCC 3- 2 in one of the 3 FUFA Super league games played on Tuesday at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

    A wonderful 2nd minute Willy Kavuma free kick after Ronnie Kisekka had fouled Allan Kyambadde opened the floodlights for the visiting Express side.

    Rogers Lukwiya added Express’ second in the 30th minute before referee Ali Kaddu called for the half time.

    KCC live wire striker, Herman Wasswa’s rich vein of form continued as he pulled one back for the hosts 6 minutes after recess.

    Express’ burly forward, Isaac Sserunkuma, often used as a lonely striker for long spells of the game buried off the game  with an 82nd minute effort before second half substitute, Derrick Nsibambi  flicked the ball into Express’ net 5 minutes to full time to book a tense finish .

    The victory earns Express 3 points and thus accumulate 29 points off 26 games, 2 points better  than Bright Stars. KCC remains in the league pole slot with 49 points off 25 games.

    Sports Club Victoria University is joint top (49 points) but has played a game more than KCC (26).

    Express coach, Wasswa Bbosa thus remarked after the game, his charges are more than ready to survive relegation more so with their upcoming fixture this Friday against Bright Stars.

    “The boys are ready for the task at hand. We shall play any team across our face”, Wasswa told fufa.co.ug.

    In the other games played, Masaka Local Council rallied from behind to pick a vital away point against Soana at Kavumba Stadium with a 3 – 3 result over Soana.

    Andrew Kiweewa netted a brace, including a last gasp equalizer for Masaka L.C before Gerald Kimuli got the other goal for the visitors.

    A double from Francis Olaki  and Dan Wagaluka had put Soana in the lead before a late surge by Masaka L.C, one side desperate to fight against relegation.

    A point for Soana puts them on 45 while Masaka has 20 points from 26 games played.

    Jinja based side, Bul, coached by Kefa Kisala picked an away point at Namboole over Harunah Kebba’s Kira Young with a goal-less draw.

    Kira Young remains stagnated in the 6th position on the 16 team log with 42 points while Bul is just one place below with 41 points.

  • FUFA President’s Condolence Message to Ssenkumba’s Family

    It is with great shock that I have learnt about the untimely death of the Late Ssenkumba John the Team Physician of Vipers Sports Club.

     The Late Ssenkumba has been an industrious hardworking and self-motivated employee of Football in various capacities. I wish to affirm that he has also been personally known to me and I found it very easy to deal with him whenever we interacted.

     On behalf of the entire FUFA Executive, Members of Staff, FUFA Member Associations, the Uganda Football family and on my own behalf I wish to extend our sincere condolences to the Family, Relatives and the management of Vipers Sports Club.

     The Federation has provided a bus to transport mourners and sum of 500,000sh towards funeral arrangements.

     May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.

    FUFA Super league’s defending champions, KCCA FC hosts Express FC his afternoon at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

    KCCA currently leads the 16 team log with 49 points, same points as the second placed Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU).

    Express football club on the other side is on a serious quest to get up the relegation redline as they lie 11th having accumulated 26 points, same points with Simba, and just 3 better than 13th positioned Entebbe f.c.

    The leaders however have played 24 games, 2 games short of the SCVU’s 26.

    Three points for KCCA will see the Mayor’s boys stretch the lead to 3 points with a game in hand.

    KCCA coached by George ‘Best’ Nsimbe boast of the league’s most prolific striking force having scored a massive 49 goals and conceded 19.

    In the league’s top scorer, Tonny Odur, an on form Herman Wasswa (scored 5 goals in 7 last games, also leading scorer in Uganda with 7 goals), William Wadri, Brian Majwega and Tom Matisko, KCCA will be aiming for nothing than the goals.

    Both sides won their last games. Express overcame Soana 2- 0 and KCCA beat Vipers 2 – 1 at Lugogo.

    The first leg was played way back on 1st November 2013 and it ended 1-1 at Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

    In the other games to be played today, Jinja based side, BUL coached by Kefa Kisala, Cranes’ assistant coach will travel to Namboole Stadium in a space of 3 days, to face Kira Young.

    BUL’s last game was that 0 – 1 loss to SCVU on Friday.

    Second from bottom placed Masaka L.C will travel to Kavumba recreation stadium to face 5th positioned Soana.

    Masaka is desperate for the three points as they lie in the relegation zone while Soana (on 43 points) still has a realistic chance of clinching the championship.

  • FUFA Mourns Vipers’ doctor Ssenkumba

    The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has received shocking news about the death of Vipers’ Team doctor Mr. John Senkumba.

    Ssenkumba passed away in Adjumani yesterday after a serious accident.

    ‘It is sad to lose a doctor who has contributed a lot to club football. He also had a bright future as he served wholeheartedly on any project assigned to him.  These are trying times for all those close to Ssenkumba. The federation extends its sympathies to his family, friends, football fraternity and Vipers FC’ said the  FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson

    Ssenkumba was the team doctor of Vipers FC.

    May his soul Rest In peace.

     

  • FUFA BIG LEAGUE: Saints’ play-off dreams still alive after defeating Baza

    Rwezori Big league side, The Saints overcame a hard fighting Baza Holdings with a 1 – 0 victory at a water logged Villa Park play ground in Nsambya on Saturday.

    Former SC Villa player, Ronald Musana scored the all-important strike for the visiting side, The Saints.

    The win helps The Saints climb to 30 points but remain 7 and 8 points adrift of the leading pack, Lweza and Baza Holdings respectively.

    In the other games played, Ngora Fredda Carr defeated Sadolin Paints 1 – 0 in Kumi.

    The loss for Sadolin, who have already secured qualification to the FUFA super league is their first this season.

    Kirinya/ Jinja SS      won 2 – 0 over visiting Busia United. Joseph Wakitaka scored a brace to help the Jinja based team secure the 3 points that keep them in the running for the two available play off slots.

    The Big league resumes on Easter Monday as Lweza hosts Gulu University at Kajjansi Uganda Clays grounds.

    The Lweza – Gulu University match was supposed to have been played on Saturday but was pushed forward because the former had a Uganda Cup fixture (against KCC) on the same day. KCC beat Lweza 2- 1 in the Uganda Cup.

    reigning FUFA Super League champions KCC F c had to grit their teeth against Lweza to book a place in the semifinals of the Uganda cup.

    Tom Masiko scored from the penalty spot while Leading scorer in the tournament Herman Wasswa netted the other to take his tally to seven. KCC won 2-1 to set up a semifinal clash with SCVU to be played over two legs.

    Paddy Muhumuza and Andrew Kidega scored priceless goals for Proline in their fight to survive relegation this season. In a rescheduled game played at Mutessa II stadium today, Proline defeated bottom placed CRO 2-0 to move to 21 points and also improve by one place by remain in the relegation zone Together with Masaka and CRO.

    Kampala University Girls’ football team successively defended The Mama Baker Memorial Cup by winning the 2nd edition of the tournament that was started last year by former women footballers with a vision of contributing to the development of football in the country.

    Kazibwe ‘Mama Baker ‘was a big supporter of women football in Uganda and a renown Express FC fan.

    This year’s tournament attracted six teams Kampala University, Ajax ladies FC, Entebbe Cream Land and three sides- Busembatya, Naigombwa and Namulembwa from Jinja.

    Kampala University emerged Champions after accumulating maximum points from four games and drew the other followed by Ajax who lost only to Kampala University.

    Time: 3.30pm

    FUFA Super league defending champions, KCC FC and FUFA Big league side, Lweza play the last Uganda Cup quarter final match at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo, this Saturday.

    The winner between KCC and Lweza is set to host SCVU on 9th May 2014 in the first of the two legged semi -finals.

    KCCA’s Richard Malinga and Fahad Kawooya, midfielders, Tom Matiko , Isaac Ntege and Ivan Ntege, strikers Herman Wasswa and William Wadri will lead KCC.

    Michael Birungi will miss the game but Tonny Odur and Brian Majwega who were suspended have been pardoned and may play part.

    Lweza has experienced players like Ddumba Sadala, Mahad Kakooza, Arthur Mukisa, Peter Kamanje and forwards Saad Kibirango and John Kisaakye.

    Already, the cup’s defending champion, Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU), FUFA Big league side, Jinja Municipal and Uganda Revenue Authority are through to the last 4 stage.

    The finals of the 2014 Uganda Cup will be held in Mbale at the Municipal Stadium.

    Simon Okwi’s well headed 50th minute effort was the only difference as Sports Club Victoria University beat  Jinja based side, Bul 1 -0  at Namboole Stadium during one of the 5 Good Friday FUFA super league fixtures.

    SC Victoria University’s victory that pushes them joint top of the league with 49 points (same as KCC, who have played a goal less) was however dented by a terrible hamstring injury to Mathew Odong.

    In the other games played, Karim Ndugwa gave SC Villa the lead in the 67th minute lead at Nakivubo Stadium, but the record champions succumbed to a late Masaka surge as Derrick Ssemere equalized for the visitors.

    At Buikwe stadium, Vipers and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) played to a goalless draw.

    Vipers and URA stilled have the same number of points (46) with the same number of game played (26 apiece).

    Express won 2 – 0 over Soana football club at Wankulukuku Stadium to accumulate 26 points and thus leap frogs Simba who drew goal less against Entebbe football club at Bombo military Stadium.

    Entebbe rises a point up the ladder (now on 23 points).

  • FUFA SUPER LEAGUE: Which club will be blessed on Good Friday?

    Epic clash as Vipers Hosts URA

    Vipers football club is set to host Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) at their Buikwe fortress in a potentially explosive encounter on Good Friday.

    Both teams have 45 points apiece with URA having a superior goal difference (25 compared to Vipers’ 15).

    The fixture comes just 2 days after Vipers lost 1-2 to the table leaders, KCC on Tuesday at Lugogo.

    Vipers will continue to play minus their lead striker, YunusSentamu (away in DRC on trials with AS vita f.c).

    In other games today, Sports Club Victoria University hosts Jinjaside, Bul at Namboole while Wasswa Bbosa’s Express entertains Richard Makumbi’s Soana at Wankulukuku Stadium.
