Odilo 2025 Girls: Oasis defeat Habanomu to claim their first Odilo Championship Trophy

Arua City side Oasis Primary School has won their first Odilo Championship with a 2-0 triumph over Kawempe side Habanomu Quality Academy in the Final that happened today at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Two goals were scored in both halves. First, a sensational finish by Monday Stella put Oasis in the lead. Then, Captain Happy Jackline Joseph beat the opponent’s defence to net the second, giving the West Nile Champions their first Final win after losing to Aterai Primary School in the final of the previous edition.

The Oasis Primary School team Head Coach, Mr Mawa Mas Jordan believes that this milestone win has been as a result of their preparations right from the first edition of the Odilo Championship, something they have never missed coming into ever since then.

‘When we came for our first edition, we learnt a lot,’ he said.

‘We had to lay down our tools and sit to plan on having a team, that maybe one day would be a Champion in this Odilo (National) Competition,’ Mr Mawa added.

Habanomu Quality Academy who earlier beat Oasis Primary School in their Group A second game just had a bad day in office, with several opportunities created, including an empty net miss by their lead hunter, Hudah Sabanu, who was later named the Championship Most Valuable Player (MVP) given her fantastic display through out the edition.

In the Third Place Final also played earlier in the morning, Odilo Championship 2025 Girls Top Scorer Nabakooza Cathy scored to guide her side Bergen Nursery and Primary School to a third place finish after battling to a 1-all draw with Prime View Education Centre from Tororo before going to win in the shootouts 4-3. Naluwaga Hannifa was on target for the Eastern Uganda Champions who had come into this years edition unbeaten, through the District and Regional stages.

Odilo 2025 Girls: Oasis to face Prime View, Bergen face Habanomu in semis as Group stage closes.

West Nile Champions Oasis Primary School came back to winning ways with a 3-0 triumph over Fort City side, Nyakasura Primary School. Having lost 3-1 yesterday on Matchday two, Happy Jackline and Hope Christine’s long-range efforts both found the back of the net as Monday Stella put in the third with a tap-in. The win meant Oasis tops Group A after the end of the group.

In the other Group A action, Kawempe-based, Kampala Region representatives Habanomu Quality Academy beat Rwamuhuga Primary School from Bushenyi in Western Uganda a goal to nil. Iziba Gift’s effort was the last holding nail for Habanomu to cruise into the semis, after completing their groupings as runners-up.

In Group B, Amuca Primary School’s Ajok Silha scored the only hat-trick of the day in their 3-1 win over Aterai Primary School from Kumi in the North Eastern Region. Aterai, who equalled a first-half lead of Amuca through Ajia Anna Mary shortly after the restart of the second half triggered latter into adding the next two to determine the result at full time.

Meanwhile, Bergen on Pitch 1 almost got ripped of all the points, getting it late to equalize through a spot kick converted by Nabakooza Cathy after a foul on substitute Namanda Rinet. Rinet, who was brought on immediately after Bergen conceded through Naluwaga Hanifa would be like the missing piece in their team today, making runs resulting into the foul.

Bergen finished top of their Group B and will face Second placed Habanomu Quality Academy in their Semi Final, as Oasis Primary School faces Prime View Edication Centre.

  • Odilo 2025 Girls: Expect more goals from Bergen—School’s games teacher

Odilo 2025 Girls: Expect more goals from Bergen—School’s games teacher

Odilo Championship 2025 Girls’ debutants Bergen Nursery and Primary School have scored 11 goals in their opening two group stage fixtures; higher than any other team in this edition. Something ironic, they don’t celebrate the goals—simply the scorer carrying the ball from the net to the centre of the field for a quick restart; what a mentality!

We spoke to their games teacher, Mr. Adaku Felix who admitted that their players are being trained on utilising all the scoring opportunities to score and play in offense as much as possible.

“Scoring is a normal thing for the girls. And we train them to score as much as possible, because this is a tournament and you don’t need to stop scoring.” Mr Adaku said.

He however insisted that they are as well cautious of the overconfidence that comes after having to win with large goal margins, yet they had come in labeled as their group underdogs.

“When we came into the Championship, many people mentioned two other teams to make it out of the groupings after the draws came out.” he added.

“When we won our first two games, it became the other way round. We are now the favorites, but that is not the point. We are not yet distracted, we need more of this performance to the last dot.” he added.

Bergen Nursery and Primary School beat Amuca Primary School, five goals to nil, with Nabakooza Cathy alone netting four and Namanda Rinet scoring the first of the five.

Nabakooza Cathy, speaking after receiving her matchay ball, said she was not aware she was scoring all those goals, but felt happy that she had done it.

“I feel so good to have scored all those goals” Cathy admitted.

“Even me, I entered the pitch not knowing I was scoring all those goals but God helped me to score those (four) goals,” she added.

Cathy would later go on to score a brace on match day two, with this time around Nabisubi Raudah netting a hat-trick and Namuli Saudah a goal in their 6-1 victory over Aterai Primary School.

Raudah credits her matchday ball acquisition to hard work and says she’ll use hers to juggle and learn more skills.

“I feel happy to have won this ball because I have worked for it. I am going to use it for juggling and making some skills.” Nabisubi said.

The Buganda Region Champions from Lyantonde District, Bergen Nursery and Primary School will meet Prime View Education Centre in the closing group game.

Odilo Girls 2025: Bergen, Habanomu, Nyakisura and Prime View Win on Match Day 2

Bergen Nursery and Primary School have continued with their scoring prowess on Match Day two of the Odilo Girls Championship 2025, putting six past Aterai Primary School, who are yet to pick up a win in the tournament. Raudah Nabisubi put three past Aterai goalkeeper, Nabakooza Cathy, who scored four yesterday this time around registered a brace and Namuli Saudha scored the other. Substitute Akol Salume scored the only solo goal for Aterai Primary School.

In the other game of Group B, Prime View also picked up its second win against Amuca Primary School. Naluwaga Hanifa’s brace secured the three points despite Ajok Sila getting one for the Lira City side from the Northern Region.

Matchday Two saw Oasis defeated by three goals to one in front of their travelling fans from Arua City. Habanomu Quality Academy’s Sabanu Hudah made it upon herself to deal with Oasis Primary School, registering a first-half hat-trick. Oasis, however tried to overturn the result, with several attacks launched through their left wing led by Jackline Happy Joseph, only for her to pull back a single of the three goals they had already conceded.

Backed by her brace today, Lydia Kirungi helped extend Nyakasura Junior School’s 1-0 halftime lead to a three. Atubemu Moreen scored a solo goal for Rwamuhaga Primary School.

Today’s Match Day two leaves the Odilo Championship 2025 with only a game for each school in their Groupings of four per; to be played tomorrow morning.

Odilo 2025 Girls: Bergen Cruise 5 past Amuca, as Prime View, Nyakashura and Oasis all Win

Bergen Nursery and Primary School has started their Odilo 2025 Championship with a huge result against Amuca Primary School this evening at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. Namanda Rinet launched the scoreboard in the 13th minute for the Buganda Region side before leaving room for the team captain Nabakooza Cathy to finish the job, netting four past the Northern Region representatives from Lira in their Group B opener.

Aterai Primary School’s Akwii Lydia equalized for her side cancelling Prime View Education Centre’s 6th-minute lead just two minutes after the restart. Nabifo Grace added a second to Kanyarisi Eleth’s earlier equaled goal in the 34th minute to make it 2-1. A scoreboard which stood until full time in the other Group B game.

Earlier, Bushenyi side, Ryamuhanga Primary School suffered their first loss in the hands of West Nile Champions, Oasis Primary School. A halftime brace from Jackline Happy Josephine and a second half goal from Monday Stella is all the Arua side needed to secure their first points and a clean sheet in their Group A opener. On a positive note, credit to Ryamuhaga’s Atuhaire Miracle Peace for keeping the team from conceding even more with her buildup from the back and creating several scoring opportunities.

In the other Group A fixture, Nyakasura Junior Primary School found a soft spot that they utilized effectively on Habanomu Quality Academy. Coming from two goals down, a Karungi Margret goal and a Kirungi Lydia brace were just enough to turn around earlier strikes from Mirembe Hope and Sabanu Hudda.

Matchday 2 of the group stage continues tomorrow.

‘Whenever you are not satisfied (with anything during/about the competition), come we talk; we are all human beings,’ he said.

Ms. Sarah Birungi of FUFA Competitions also backed this by admitting to having the operation offices open.

‘If you have any challenges, always reach out. Our offices will always be open to listen’ she said.

‘When you come here, you don’t only come for football. You also gain more skills like coaching, refereeing, safe guarding, networking among others,’ Ms. Sarah added.
