Teso Province brightened their hopes of reaching the semifinals of this year’s FUFA Drum tournament after overcoming Tooro on Sunday.
In the first leg of the quarterfinal phase played at Soroti Stadium, Teso earned a 2-1 win.

The visitors got their consolation towards the end of the game through captain Timothy Musinguzi to keep their homes alive ahead of the return leg.
The opening half was lively but either side couldn’t get the breakthrough.
It was Ocen who fired Teso into the lead two minutes after recess when he curled home with his right foot.
With the game destined for the end, Musinguzi levelled matters in the 86th minute when the goalkeeper fumbled with the ball and spilled it towards the defender.
However, before Tooro could celebrate their goal enough, the hosts restored parity a minute later with Esenu scoring off an acrobatic kick to send the home fans into wild celebrations.

The two teams will face in a fortnight’s time from now to determine who advances to the semifinals.
Bugisu Province took advantage in the quarterfinal tie against Lango, after winning the first leg at home.
The Bamasaba fought hard to overcome Lango on Saturday at Mbale City Stadium.

Raymond Onyai scored the lone goal of the game midway through the first stanza and this turned out to be decisive moment of the game.
The fans came in big numbers to support their respective Provinces.
Despite missing the services of leading goal scorer Arafat Usama, Bugisu were able to put up a good performance to dispatch the visitors.

Bugisu capitalised on their prowess from set pieces and throw ins from right back Steven Namaisi.
The home side got a number of chances to take the lead in the first half but couldn’t break the deadlock and so did Lango.

Bugisu made a quick tactical change in the first half with Usam Khayemba coming on for David Zake.
In the second stanza that witnessed the heavens opening, the hosts eventually found the breakthrough when Onyai rose high to head home Emma Shikanga’s delivery from the corner.

Joachim Ojera and Moses Aliro on different occasions tried levelling matters but were unsuccessful thanks to Bugisu skipper and custodian Edward Kasibante as well as the solid backline that stood firm to ensure they get the first leg advantage.

The two teams will face off again in the return leg on 16th October at the Akiibua stadium in Lira to determine who makes it to the semi finals.

The final bend of the first legs in the quarterfinals of this year’s FUFA Drum edition is on this weekend
Two epic encounters are on card with Bugisu hosting Lango at Mbale Municipal Stadium on Saturday while Teso welcome Tooro Province at the Soroti Stadium a day later.
Bugisu Province Coach Godfrey ‘Toldo’ Awachango looks forward to relying on home advantage to secure a good result ahead of the return leg on the road.
“We have to play to home advantage to get good results. Our opponents will come up with a defensive strategy but we have to get a good result here before facing them away,” he said.

In the previous home game, Bugisu dispatched neighbours 3-0 and will hope the same performance can be replicated against a more competitive Lango side.

“We are on a mission and therefore every game is treated as the final. The game against Bugisu is tricky and we are aware of their abilities but we know to handle them. My team has prepared well for Bugisu, with early preparations to playing practice matches. Therefore, we are set and optimistic of getting a descent result in Mbale.
The other quarterfinal game between Teso and Tooro Province will be played on Sunday at Soroti Stadium.

Tooro’s coach Fred Muhumuza anticipates a tough encounter against a re-energized Teso side who eliminated Busoga.
“Teso is a good team that cannot be under looked. We therefore go into the first leg with full commitment knowing the opposition we face. We shall go and fight for the points and earn a good result to bring home in the second leg.” He stated.

To reach this stage, Tooro dumped out neighbours Rwenzori 1-0 on aggregate.
The dates and venues for the second leg of the quarter-finals of this year’s edition of the FUFA Drum have been confirmed. The matches will be played on 9th and 16th October with two fixtures on each day.
Buganda Province will host the second leg at Luweero play ground, Kampala Province at Coffee Ground-Bugolobi, Tooro Province at Buhinga Stadium- Fort Portal and Lango Province at Akii Bua Stadium in LIra.
The kick-off time for all return leg matches is 3:00 PM and will be broadcast live on FUFA Tv.

West Nile Province put one leg into this year’s FUFA Drum semi finals after cruising past Kampala Province in the first leg of the quarterfinals.
In a thrilling encounter played on Sunday at Greenlight Stadium, West Nile took care of the visitors, registering a 4-0 win.

The hosts were boosted by the addition of the deadly attacking duo of Muhammad Shaban and Israel based Fahad Bayo who had not played in the previous round.

And the two did not disappoint with Shaban bagging a brace while Bayo was involved in all the goals to add to Cromwell Rwothomio’s strike.
Despite missing a number of key players, Kampala also paused questions to West Nile but the former had a solid back line manned by of Bright Vuni and Rashid Toha to give skipper and goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi the much needed cover.

With three minutes to the end of the first stanza, Shaban broke the deadlock, firing from distance to beat Were in goal.

The second stanza saw Kampala degrade further and the home side capitalised on this to add to their goal tally.
Sic minutes into the second half, Shaban got his second of the day, heading home Kawawa’s cross from the right.
Substitute Cromwell Rwothomio got the third goal with his first touch thanks to a neat pass from Bayo.

With eight minutes to stoppage time, Rwothomio initiated an attack from the middle of the pack and released Bayo who outpaced Andrew Kaggwa to lay in a cut back that Ngoobi almost connected into his own net before Gadaffi Wahab put it into the back of the net to dent Kampala’s semi final chances.
Bayo who was involved in all the four goals on the evening went on to be named Man of the match on his FUFA Drum debut and took home and accolade as well as USH 100,000 courtesy of Nile Special and FUFA.

Action in the FUFA Drum resumes this weekend with West Nile hosting Kampala in the first leg of the quarterfinal stage on Sunday at Greenlight stadium.
West Nile will have a huge boost in their quest to progress to the semifinals with strikers Fahad Bayo and Muhammad Shaban joining the camp.
The aforementioned duo have not featured in the previous games due to various reasons.

Dudu Bosco, the Head Coach of the West Nile Province team is confident the pair is a great addition to their camp.

“I am happy to have the two join us ahead of the game against Kampala. I believe they will help us in search for goals because they are established forwards that have proven their ability.” He said.
The coach added he is aware of Kampala Province’s strength given the squad they have but he is confident his troops will overcome them.
To reach the quarterfinals, West Nile eliminated Karamoja 6-0 on aggregate.
On the other hand, Kampala Province Assistant Coach Paul Kiwanuka is buoyant that his team will do well and hopes for a good result at the Green Light Stadium come Sunday.
“Although seven of our players are currently with the Uganda U23 team, we are unfazed because we have a big pool to pick from. West Nile is good with quality players but I know we have what it takes to go past them.” He said.

This will be the first meeting between the two provinces since the inception of the FUFA Drum in 2018.

Two quick fire goals from Norman Ogik and Francis Onekalit in the 64th and 65th minute respectively handed hosts, Acholi Province, the first leg advantage in a Quarter Final match held at Boma Grounds, Kitgum on Sunday.

Frank Ssebufu scored the opener in the 23rd minute that gave Buganda Province the advantage in the first half.
However, Ogik and Onekalit came off the bench to hand victory to the reigning Champions thus sending the fans into wild celebrations at full time.

Buganda Province will host Acholi Province at Nakisunga Grounds, Mukono in the second leg of the tie on a date to be communicated.
All roads lead to Boma ground in Kitgum as title holders Acholi and Buganda face off in the first leg of the FUFA Drum tournament quarterfinal round on Sunday 11th September.
The much anticipated clash of titans is a major highlight on this stage and Acholi fans will be out to render massive support to their team in a move to take advantage from the first leg.

Buganda clinched the title in 2019 before COVID-19 paused sporting activities for two years.
Acholi on the other hand beat Bukedi (5-3) on penalties to win the last edition and will seek to keep their title defence on the right path.

Acholi’s Head coach Geoffrey Akena expressed confidence ahead of Sunday’s game and banks on home fans for positive results.
“We are very glad about the draw and playing against Buganda. We are Champions and this will be a classic match. Such matches are for the fans to enjoy. I call upon the fans for both teams to turn up in big numbers to watch their stars in action. The Acholi fans will not disappoint.” Akena told FUFA media after the draw last month.

Acholi province eliminated Bunyoro (1-0) on aggregate to reach this stage thanks to Hudu Mulikyi sole strike in the second round after a barren draw in Masindi.
While Buganda province saw off Ankole 2-1 on aggregate thanks to a second leg victory at Nakisunga Ssaza playground in Mukono.

“It’s a good draw for us, we are ready again for the challenge and we want to build on our success of 2018. We want to win it away from home as we believe it will be the only way to see us through to the next round.” – said Patruck Kimuli, assistant coach Buganda province.
Viane Sekajugo and Joshua Lubwama scored for Buganda province as the inaugural winners reached this stage. But Lubwama will miss this round after joining the National Beach soccer team (Sand Cranes) for residential camp in Njeru preparing for upcoming continental engagements.
To win the maiden championship, Buganda beat West Nile 2-1 aggregate. The two played to a 1-all draw at the Greenlight stadium in Arua and Buganda won 1-0 at Bishop SS playground in Mukono.

16 games played on a home and away basis were witnessed as the long awaited FUFA Drum third edition finally got underway.
33 goals were scored at this level with the man of the match accolade topped up by 100,000 ushs courtesy of Nile Special awarded to the most outstanding player at the end of every game.
Here are all the players who won the man of the match accolade from the different match days in the round of 16.
Match day 1
Bukedi 1-1 Kampala
Kampala’s Travis Mutyaba late equaliser at Butalejja grounds won him the man of the match accolade.
Lango 0-0 Ankole
In a highly contested encounter at the fully packed Akiibua stadium, Lango’s Joachim Ojera emerged man of the match following his impressive and flashing performance.

Bugisu’s Usama Arafat bagged a brace for the home side and had and impressive display. Taking home the Man of the match accolade was therefore inevitable.

Busoga 1-2 Teso
In a highly anticipated Eastern derby, Teso defied odds by shocked the home side Infront of their own backyard at Saza grounds in Iganga. Rwanda based forward Ben Ocen broke the deadlock for Teso and gave the home side a tough evening through out to take home the Man of the match gong.

Kigezi 0-0 Buganda
Another highly contested encounter witnessed at the Kabale Municipal Stadium. The home side went pound for pound with the Inaugural champions with skipper David Ndihabwe bossing the midfield through out the game. He went on to be named man of the match as a result.

West Nile 5-0 Karamoja
The first encounter in the third edition that witnessed goals raining with the hosts West Nile doing what was expected of them. Forward Ibrahim Dada might have scored a brace but left back Rashid Okocha was outstanding and was voted man of the match.

Tooro 1-0 Rwenzori
Another entertaining encounter it was and a derby in “Runya-Kitara” at Buhinga stadium in the tourism city of Fort Portal. Tooro won it late but this didn’t stop Rwenzori skipper Gaddafi Kacancu from scooping the Man Of the match accolade after a very terrific performance all through the 90 minutes.

Bunyoro 0-0 Acholi
The 2019 champions Acholi started their title defence campaign in a barren stalemate in Hoima with the hosts dominating most of the proceedings through out the 90 minutes. Bunyoro’s Mungu Jakisha was the man to watch as he gave the visitors a torrid evening.
He went on to be named man of the match.
Match day 3
Kampala 3-0 Bukedi
Kampala eased passed the 2019 finalists 3-0 to cruise into the quarter finals.
Martin Kizza bagged a brace before missing a penalty and it’s such display that made him voted Man Of the match.
Acholi 1-0 Bunyoro
Like it was in the first leg, the return was also 50-50 before Huud Mulikyi netted late for the home side to send them to the quarters. He went on to be named man of the match.
Buganda 2-1 Kigezi
The Inaugural champions might have won to go through but Kigezi gave them a good run for their money just like it was in the first leg. At 1-1 at halftime, the result was favouring the visitors following a barren stalemate in Kabale before Joshua Lubwama fresh from guiding the Sand Cranes back to the AFCON Beach Soccer Tournament won it from a beautiful free kick at Nakisunga grounds.

Karamoja 0-1 West Nile
The visitors might have won the tie narrowly but this should be attributed to the home side goalie Sukuru Hajj who pulled off a number of stunning saves in both halves. Him (Sukuru) taking home the Man of the match accolade was unavoidable.

Rwenzori 0-0 Tooro
A highly contested encounter just like it was in the first leg. Rwenzori had a chance to level matters but skipper Gaddafi Kacancu had his penalty saved by Tooro custodian Simon Tamale who was eventually named man of the match purposely for the penalty save.
Teso 1-1 Busoga
A do or die game it was for Busoga as they came in this encounter with one mission, revenge and qualification but Teso was up to the task and comfortably managed to pull off a draw thanks to Ibrahim Orit equaliser who went on to be named Man Of the match.
Sebei 4-4 Bugisu
Arguably the most entertaining game in the round of 16 the witnessed goals raining minute after minute. At one point Sebei led before they were denied their first ever win in the tournament’s history courtesy of Arafat Usama brace before he was named man of the match just like it was in the first leg.
Ankole 0-1 Lango
Another entertaining and highly contested encounter it was in Ibanda. Lango emerged victorious thanks to Denis Omedi lone strike to take home the man of the match gong.
The FUFA Drum returned after a two-year lull due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 . With the 2020 and 2021 editions not played, football enthusiasts quenched for the coming back of a tournament that not only gives thrilling action on pitch but also offers a precious moment for people to celebrate their ancestry.

Giants sail through
For every competition, there are favorites and teams that are more powerful than the rest. Equally, the round of 16 portrayed this with men separated from boys.
Defending Champions Acholi saw off Bunyoro to progress, inaugural winners Buganda overcame Kigezi while Lango, Kampala and West Nile also beat their opponents to advance.

Historic feat of having games live on TV
For the first time ever, all the games were broadcast live on television. The entry of FUFA Tv into the football arena has come with several advantages, offering an opportunity for people far away from their provinces to watch games live.
For instance games involving Acholi, West Nile and Lango registered big numbers that watched via the FUFA TV YouTube Channel.
Additionally, the tournament has received great coverage from print and conventional media.
Passion and culture on the show
To many, football is a religion and the passion exhibited by fans of different Provinces tell it all. This blended with culture has given the FUFA Drum a unique aspect experienced no where else.
On matchdays, fans throng different grounds to show support to players who they are closely connected to either by blood or language.
At the round of 16, Acholi and Lango home games were crowd pullers and indeed FUFA Drum’s theme of “Celebrating Our Ancestry” was at display.
Thrilling action, plethora of goals scored
What is football without goals? Definitely that would be boring. Whereas some ties were too close to call, goals have been registered in the games played at the round.
For example, games between between Bugisu and Sebei produced 11 goals including a 4-4 draw in the return leg.
A total of 32 goals were scored at the round of 16.

The race for the top scorer’s gong will be tight if the opening round is anything to go by.
However, Arafat Usama from Bugisu Province took the helm and already leads the scoring chart with four goals.
The forward who plies his trade at KCCA FC scored a brace against Sebei both home and away.
Ibrahim Dada follows closely with three goals. He also scored home and away against Karamoja.
Bunyoro show football is more than a game
Football has great impact in the transformation of society in different ways. The games goes beyond 90 minutes of action on pitch and often used by many as a unifying factor of society.
Bunyoro Province proved that regardless of Acholi being opponents on pitch, football is about sharing and fairplay.
A delegation from Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom led by Prime Minister Owek. Andrew Byakutaga paid a courtesy visit to Ker Kwaro Acholi with the aim of strengthening the bond between the two kingdoms.
The draw for the quarterfinals will be conducted on Monday, 29th August at FUFA House. It should be noted the quarterfinal fixtures will also be played on home and away basis with the winner on aggregate progressing to the next stage.

Sebei’s journey in the FUFA Drum 2022 came to an end on Saturday, falling to neighbours Bugisu on aggregate.
However, their elimination did not come without a fight. Sebei put up a great performance to hold Bugisu 4-4 in the thrilling return leg played at Sebei College, Kapchwora on Saturday.
In a game of two halves, Bugisu dominated the opening stanza and led 2-0 but the home side proved a hard nut to crack and eventually producing a goal galore that ended 4-4.
Emmanuel Mukisa and Usama Arafat gave the Bamasaba a comfortable lead at the break.
Sebei returned an improved side after recess with John Olwo scoring in the 50th minute before Peter Kanyere found the equalizer two minutes after the hour mark.
The celebrations for Sebei were cut short, four minutes later when Usama restored parity for Bugisu.
Two minutes later, the score was even again after an own goal by Emma Shikanga put the score at 3-3.
In the 75th minute, Innocent Egweudu put Sebei in the lead for the first time but this only lasted for three minutes before Raymond Onyai found the equalizer.
The result meant Bugisu advanced to the quarterfinals 7-4, having won the reverse fixture 3-0 in Mbale.
Therefore, Bugisu joins Buganda, Kampala, Lango, Acholi and West Nile as the teams that have booked their slots in the last eight.
Two slots are up for grabs on Sunday with Teso hosting Busoga in Bukedea. The former lead this contest 2-1, having won the first leg in Iganga.
The other fixture is between Rwenzori and rivals Tooro who face off today in Bundibugyo. Tooro leads this contest 1-0 from the first leg.
The FUFA Drum 2022 Matchday Four Round of 16, Return Leg
Ankole 0-1 Lango (Lango advance 1-0 on aggregate).
Sebei 4-4 Bugisu (Bugisu advance 7-4 on aggregate).
Lango Province secured a slot into the quarterfinals of this year’s FUFA Drum tournament after eliminating Ankole.
In the game played on Saturday at St. George Core PTC Kagongo Playground, Ibanda, visiting Lango won 1-0 thus progressing to the next stage.

Dennis Omedi’s solitary strike in the first half turned out to be decisive moment of the game.
Omedi was well stationed to slot home from close range after Moses Aliro set him up in the 23rd minute.

A long pass from Emmanuel Odur found Aliro in the box and the latter headed the ball into Omedi’s path who was quick to tap the ball beyond goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba.
Despite efforts to search for the equalizer, Ankole failed to break a resilient Lango side.

The result eventually meant Lango stormed the last eight 1-0 on aggregate. It should be noted that the first leg at Akii Bua Stadium had ended goalless.

Lango therefore joins Buganda, Kampala, West Nile, Acholi and Bugisu as the other teams that have reached the quarterfinals.
The last two slots will be completed on Sunday with Teso playing Busoga in Bukedia while Rwenzori take on neighbours Tooro in Bundibugyo.
Action from the FUFA Drum round 16 continued over the weekend with matchday 3 that saw teams lock horns in the return leg to determine which teams storm the quarter finals.

Kampala eased past last edition’s finalists Bukedi 3-0 at Bugoloobi grounds. Defender Derrick Ngobi broke the deadlock in the early stages of the game before Martin Kizza bagged a brace to see the Fred Kajoba side sail through to the quarters on 4-1 aggregate.

Acholi 1-0 Bunyoro
At a fully packed Pece Stadium, the hosts put up a spirited show against a highly resilient Bunyoro and won 1-0 thanks to a Huud Mulikyi second half strike that sent the crowds wild.

Buganda 2-1 Kigezi
In another highly anticipated tie, Buganda fought from minute one at Nakisunga grounds.
Usual suspect Viane Ssekajugo broke the deadlock before Dickson Niwamanya restored parity with a thumping header from a Micheal Birungi corner.
Aware that the one all draw would guarantee Kigezi a place in the quarters, the David Mutono side squeezed to the second goal that finally came from a free kick by Joshua Lubwama in the second stanza.
Ssekajugo was eventually named man of the match.

Karamoja 0-1 West Nile.
In a game that witnessed heavy down pours through out at the Naikatwae Sports Complex in Moroto, West Nile completed a double with a 1-0 win thanks to Ibrahim Dada 70th minute strike to storm the quarters on a 6-0 aggregate.
Karamoja goalie Sukuru Hajji pulled off a number of sweet saves to deny the West Nilers on a number of occasions and eventually took the man of the match award.

The FUFA Drum has been able to bring together the young, the old, leaders at the cultural and political level. The business community has not been left while the religious leaders have also followed the tournament keenly.
Matches involving Acholi Province have created unbelievable excitement and attraction. The Acholi fans always make a statement wherever they go. The opponents they take on, have never disappointed either.

With the adjusted format for this season, Acholi landed a fixture against Bunyoro Province. It was a fixture made in heaven as fans of both teams welcomed the two matches. As the coaches of the two teams planned for tactics and team formations, the cultural leaders had different ideas as they looked at how to strengthen further the cultural ties between the Provinces.

Over the weekend, the Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Owek. Andrew Byakutaga paid a courtesy call to Ker Kwaro Acholi. The Premier was accompanied by his wife Rose Byakutaga, the Clerk of Bunyoro Kitara Parliament Moses Atuha, David Basigirenda who is an administrator in Kabumba’s office and Rogers Byamukama, a FUFA Executive Member and Chairman of the FUFA Drum football tournament.
The Rt. Hon Byakutaga is an ardent football fan. He was involved in the post-match ceremonies when he handed over the Man of the Match award to Hudu Mulikyi after Acholi edged Bunyoro at Pece Stadium in Gulu.

He said the visit is one of the avenues of strengthening the bond between Acholi and Bunyoro.
The Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Premier was received by David Okello the Personal Assistant to the Acholi Paramount Chief, Jacob Kilama the Director of Programs and cult heal Bernard Loum, the Secretary & Corporate Affairs Director at Ker Kwaro Acholi.
The Acholi leaders listed food security, cultural preservation, peace building, social economic transformation & community mobilisation as some of the key priorities areas.
They also called for further cooperation and partnership with Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
It was echoed by the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom officials who welcomed the idea as one of the ways of strengthening the bond between the cultural institutions.
The Prime Minister handed over presents to the leadership of Acholi. The presents have been part of the Kingdom’s consignment whenever Bunyoro Kingdom officials visit the Acholi counterparts since time immemorial.
The pleasantries included a goat, millet, Kibiro salt, native peas, coffee, bananas and beer.
On behalf of the Paramount chief, the Acholi leadership appreciated the gifts and promised to reciprocate the gesture when they visit Bunyoro.
Significance of the items
A goat This is one of the treasured domestic animals in Bunyoro. It is commonly slaughtered or donated at functions of success, marriage, friendship or other ceremonies.
Millet Grains Millet is a staple food in Bunyoro and in Acholi. It withstands all weather and it gives us food security.
Coffee Coffee is used as a beverage, making some medicine and other valuables. Coffee is the first edible item you are served when you visit a friend or a person you treasure in Bunyoro (Omwaani Gunywanisa enganda). In the Banyoro tradition, coffee berries are used as a way of cementing friendship (Okusara Omukago).
Native peas (Enkoole Nyamugobe) They are fast maturing peas which the forefathers of Bunyoro used to fight food insecurity in homes due to the fact that they have a short maturity period.
Beer Traditionally, in times of celebration, the people of Acholi and Bunyoro (who are not Muslims or who don’t find offense in alcohol) sit over beer to relax, share joy & happiness.
Matooke This is one of the staple foods in Bunyoro. Recent archeological studies have discovered that the first bananas to be grown in Uganda were around Semwema in Kakumiro district.
Salt Kibiro salt has been mined for thousands of years. It is medicinal and was a major commodity that Bunyoro used to dominate to international trade.
Indeed with the cultural connection taking different steps it is vital to believe that the FUFA Drum has helped many people Celebrate their Ancestry.
West Nile Province secured a slot into the quarterfinals of this year’s FUFA Drum with relative ease after eliminating Karamoja.
Having won the first leg 5-0 at Greenlight Stadium in Arua, West Nile once again proved their might, defeating Karamoja 1-0 in the return leg thus advancing 6-0 on aggregate.
In the game played on Sunday at Naitakwae Sports Complex, Moroto, striker Ibrahim Dada netted the solitary goal.
The goal came in the 70th minute thus guiding West Nile to victory.
On the same day, inaugural winners Buganda edged past Kigezi in a closely contested affair.
In the game played at Nakisunga Playground, Buganda under the stewardship of David Mutono won 2-1.
Viane Ssekajugo opened the scores for Buganda as early as the 12th minute before Dickson Nuwamanya found the equalizer midway through the first stanza.
However, Buganda restored parity through lanky midfielder Joshua Lubwama who scored at the hour mark.
Therefore, West Nile and Buganda join Acholi and Kampala who had won their respective games on Saturday.
The battle to determine the eight teams that will storm to the quarterfinal stage of this year’s FUFA Drum continues this weekend.
At least four teams will know their fate by Sunday as the round of 16 enters the final bend.
Whereas West Nile have one foot in the next stage, having won their home fixture 5-0 against Karamoja, the rest of the fixtures are still tight.

Defending Champions Acholi fought hard to hold Bunyoro in their backyard last weekend and they will be hoping to chance on their ever reliable home crowd at Pece Stadium to eliminate Bunyoro on Saturday.
On the same day, Kampala entertain Bukedi in Bugolobi. The reverse fixture ended one all in Butaleja with Travis Mutyaba salvaging a point for the City Boys.

The diminutive forward is however doubtful for this encounter having picked a hamstring during national team training.
Fred Kajjoba, the Kampala Province coach is convinced his troops will be able to overcome a stubborn Bukedi side.

Sunday will see Karamoja hosting West Nile in Moroto and the home side will need a miracle to overturn the first leg defit.
West Nile will still be without striker Muhammad Shaban who got injured on national team duty but they are optimistic for another convincing win.
The other game on Sunday will see Buganda, winners of the inaugural edition take on Kigezi in Nakisunga.
The first leg ended goalless and the hosts will be delighted to welcome back midfielder Saidi Kyeyune who missed the first leg due to National team commitments.
It should be noted that the winners on aggregate will progress to the next level.
In case the scores are level after the second leg, away goal rule will come into play.
However, if the score is still tied, then the winners will be decided on kicks from the penalty mark without playing extra time.
The third edition of the FUFA Drum 2022 continued over the weekend with matchday two fixtures that witnessed four thrilling ties, producing six goals.
West Nile were the biggest victors as they smashed Karamoja 5-0 at the Greenlight Stadium while defending Champions, Acholi shared spoils at Bunyoro.

Kigezi 0-0 Buganda
This was the third meeting between both sides in the FUFA Drum history with either side registering a single victory in the first edition.
In the early kick-off on Friday played at Kabale Municipal Stadium, both sides played to a barren stalemate in an equally contested encounter.
Kigezi skipper David Ndihabwe was named Man Of The Match following his industrious display.

They will square off again in the round of 16 return leg on Sunday 14th August at Nakisunga, Kyetume to determine who team storms the last eight.
West Nile 5-0 Karamoja
As anticipated, West Nile registered the biggest win, condemning Karamoja to a 5-0 loss at a fully packed Greenlight Stadium with four goals coming in the first stanza through defender Bright Vuni, Gaddafi Wahab and a brace from Ibrahim Dada before substitute Fred Amaku put the icing on the cake with a stoppage time finish.

Tooro 1-0 Rwenzori
In the third meeting between both sides, the Runya-Kitara derby lived to its billing as either side came searching for maiden victory.
Going pound for pound, the hosts Tooro took the bragging rights with a narrow 1-0 victory thanks to David Opio’s 75th minute penalty.
Despite the loss, Rwenzori dreadlocked skipper Kacancu Gaddafi was named Man Of The Match.

Bunyoro 0-0 Acholi
It was an entertaining encounter that witnessed reigning Champions Acholi start their title defence against Bunyoro on the road.
In an closely contested encounter, neither side managed to find the back of the net at Masindi Stadium despite chances created.
Bunyoro and Buhuku FC midfielder Mungu Jakisha stood out and was named Man Of The Match.
