Uganda Cranes and Senegal played to a goalles draw during the international friendly match played at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor in Dakar city on Tuesday morning.
Before the game, there was a moment of silence for the late Ivory Coast midfielder Chieck Ismael Tiote, who collapsed during a training session and was declared dead moments later in a Chinese hospital.
There were lots of positives picked from the game, the second international friendly match after yet another goalless draw with Ethiopia on Saturday in Hawassa.

Uganda Cranes will remain camped in Senegal for acclimatization and training until when the team flies out to the Cape Verde Islands.
Uganda will open its campaign for the 2019 Nations cup qualifiers against Cape Verde on Saturday.
Senegal is ranked 27th while Uganda is 71st in the latest FIFA rankings released on 1st June 2017.

The 19 man Uganda Cranes team to Senegal has three goalkeepers, six defenders, four midfielders and six strikers.
Six KCCA players flew out of the country on Saturday night immediately after guiding their side to a 2-1 victory over Nigeria’s Rivers United at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
These included goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan, Timothy Denis Awany, Denis Okot Oola, Isaac Muleme, Derrick Nsibambi and Geofrey Sserunkuma.

Speaking on the call up veteran striker Geoffrey Serunkuma said that though he had been involved with his team, he has to give in his best to the National team.
‘Though I have been too involved with the my club (KCCA FC ), It won’t be an excuse for my failure to deliver to the National team. Wearing a National team is any footballers dream therefore I have to deliver for my nation” noted Serunkuma.

Team captain Dennis Onyango is expected to join the rest of the teammates late on Monday.
Uganda Cranes take on Senegal in the second international friendly match in Dakar on Monday night (in Uganda, the game kicks off at mid-night – Tuesday, 6th June 2017).
This will be the second international match for the Uganda Cranes after Saturday’s goal-less draw with Ethiopia in Hawassa city.
All these build ups and camps are intended to fine tune the squad ahead of the group L match against Cape Verde Islands on Saturday 10th June 2017 in Praia City.
The team will fly to Praia on Thursday 8th June 2017.

In the second half, head coach Milutin Sredejovic made a couple of changes.
Martin Kizza replaced Ntambi, Milton Karisa came on for Robert Kakeeto, Muhammed Shaban replaced Emma Okwi, Nelson Senkatuka was Faruku Miya’s replacement, Bukenya for Khalid Aucho and Hassan Wasswa Mawanda paved way for Savio Kabugo.

The Uganda Cranes had a trial match against Kampala Capital City Authority on Wednesday afternoon at Mandela National Stadium outside play ground.

The Uganda Cranes have started training ahead of the tight schedule involving international trial games and AFCON 2019 qualifier encounter against Cape Verde.
Twenty four players including Seven foreign based have attended the first training session held at Kabira Country club on Tuesday morning with the watchful eye of team coach Sredejovic ‘Micho’ Milutin assisted by Moses Basena and Fred Kajoba the goalkeeping coach.
Team coach was excited with the attendance of the the players save for Denis Onyango and Khalid Aucho as well as KCCA players who will join the team later after their CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup engagements.

“I’m happy that many players have reported to camp and this will help us prepare properly for our upcoming encounters ” Said Micho.
Micho added that players have undergone a light training because they need to recover from the fatigue acquired during the Kitara Regional Tour.

The road for Uganda Cranes to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, otherwise code named ‘Project Cameroon 2019’ continues with the residential training programme on Tuesday.
This follows the national team successful return from Fort Portal where they played a build up in the famous ‘Uganda Cranes regional tours campaign’ against Kitara select at the Buhinga stadium before a fully packed house.
Uganda Cranes won 3-1 with strikers Emmanuel Okwi and Nelson Senkatuka scoring the three goals in the opening 45 minutes of the game.
The team has since returned to Kampala on Monday afternoon and will re-group on Tuesday at Sky Hotel, Naalya at 8 a.m.
According to the head coach Milutin Sredejovic, there are players from the local based sides that made the trip to Fort Portal who will be joined by the foreign based crop as the training kicks-off at 10 a.m – Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
“The entire programme is well set and we are ready to implement it to perfection so that we achieve our set and desired goals” Micho disclosed to www.fufa.co.ug.

The Wednesday session will be double – morning and afternoon before the team flies out Thursday for the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
In Ethiopia, the team will play an international build up against the Walia Stars on Saturday, 3rd June 2017 at the Hawassa International stadium in Hawassa City.
Departure from Ethiopia to Dakar, Senegal for the second international friendly match will be on Sunday joined by the KCCA players who will fly directly from Kampala and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Dennis Onyango.
The international build up against Senegal shall take place on 6th June 2017 in Dakar City.
After the build up, the team will leave for Praia, Cape Verde ready for the opening group L of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers.

The Uganda Cranes has successfully concluded the Kitara Region tour with a re-sounding performance and 3-1 victory at a fully packed Buhinga stadium in Fort Portal on Sunday.

The national team led 3-0 by the half time mark with Okwi scoring the first in the 24th minute.
Senkatuka powerfully nodded home the second off Shafiq Kagimu’s cross and Okwi popped home the third in the first added minute of the first half when he followed up a Hassan Wasswa Mawanda dipping header that had already beaten goalkeeper Isaac Kwizera and looked destined to cross the goal-line.
Second half substitute Beckam Musoki pulled one for the home team after he connected a re-bound when his first attempt from a penalty kick had kissed the cross bar.

Hundreds of passionate football fans graced the Uganda Cranes last training session ahead of the much anticipated match against a select team from the Kitara region on Sunday afternoon.
After arriving in Fort Portal on Saturday afternoon, the team was warmly welcomed as they were ushered in at Kalya Courts hotel.

The players and accompanying officials checked in at hotel, had lunch and rested for some hours before they headed to the training session that lasted for close to one and a half hours.
At the Buhinga stadium (the same facility that will host the match), the team was treated to thunderous welcome by the enthusiastic supporters who were excited to see some of the players and officials they normally see and read about in the media.
“This is my chance of a life time to see the Uganda Crane live in Buhinga, Fort Portal. It had always been my dream to see Hassan Wasswa, Emma Okwi and Coach Micho with the other players also. This is really good. I thank FUFA and the sponsors for making this a reality? Is Onyango also coming?” Esther Rwabogo, said with an ear to ear smile.

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has named the final team set to travel for the Kitara regional tour this weekend at the Buhinga play ground in Fort Portal.
This was after the Friday session which followed three days of non residential training at the Mandela National stadium, Namboole. Micho has named a very strong squad for the job.

The regional tours are jointly fueled by Uganda Cranes main sponsors Airtel Uganda Limited and partners Nile Breweries Limited.
The main objective of the tours among others is to take the national team brand closer to the populous.
The team departs for Fort Portal on Saturday morning.

Uganda Cranes kicked off preparations on Wedensday morning at Mandela National stadium, Namboole for their upcoming tight schedules at both local and international level.
Head coach Milutin Sredejovic and his technical team of assistant Moses Basena and goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba took players through the drills at the National stadium.
The team coach expressed his delight about the players response ahead of the Uganda Cranes Regional tour of Kitara on Sunday in Fort Portal.
‘I’m excited about the players response but unfortunately I cant consider them all for the match. On Friday I will name the final 22 players for the match’ said Micho.
After the training the coach named 12 players on the standby list in case of any eventualities but will be reconsidered for training when preparations for the 2018 CHAN qualifiers resume.
The 12 players are; Ibrahim Kibumba, Ssenfuka Rahmat, Oromchan Villa, Banga Fraouk, Mubitu Yisa, Kapampa Eddy, Kagwa Pius, Wafula
Solomon, Balinya Juma, Yiga Muhammad, Sebudde Timothy and Okello Maxwell.
Training resumes on Thursday morning at Mandela National Stadium starting 9 O’clock.

Kitara Region Vs Uganda Cranes – 28th May in Fort Portal
The Kitara Region Football Association Technical committee has summoned a strong 20 man squad ready to face the national team, Uganda Cranes on 28th May 2017 in Fort Portal.
The players summoned are expected to report in Fort Portal by Wednesday 24th May 2017 (latest 1pm) for training.
Uganda Cranes has this year toured the Eastern region in Kamuli and West Nile (Paidha) where they won 3-1 and lost 1-0 respectively.
The essence of such tours which were started two years ago is to take the national team brand closer to the fans in their respective localities.
Also, it is another plat form to show case talent that has not yet been exposed.
Uganda Cranes’ last visit of the Kitara region dates as far back as 19th September 2015 when the national side won convincingly 6-0 at the Boma stadium in Masindi before a record crowd that included the FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo, delegates among other dignitaries.

Back then, Julius Ntambi opened the floodlights in the very first minute with a venomous shot from 18 yards to give the national team the lead.
Team skipper, Robert Sentongo led by example with the second goal on six minutes.
S.C Villa’s midfielder, Ambrose Kirya scored the third after goal keeper, Christopher Kusima spilled a hard effort from Ceaser Okhuti to make it three on ten minutes.
The day’s hero, Sentongo got the fourth. Muzamiru Mutyaba and striker Frank Kalanda scored the other two goals for the national team to register the biggest victory since the regional tours’ inception.

The third edition of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Corporate tournament is steadily garnering steam.
A total of 22 teams have confirmed to take part of 19th April 2017 according to the FUFA Marketing Director, Esther Musoke.
So far, we have 22 teams from the corporate world confirming.
This tournament is a signature brand aimed to draw the corporate world for networking opportunities and also encourage them to make an impact in Ugandan football.
The theme for this year’s tournament is “Football for Health”.

There will be a curtain raiser match between Pan African Pyramid and FUFA President’s XI.

Uganda has climbed two places to 72nd in the latest Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) rankings for the month of March.
The CECAFA reigning champions ascended from 74th in the last month with 462 points and are now 15th in Africa.
On 23rd March 2017, Uganda Cranes played to a one all draw with Kenya Harambee Stars in an international friendly played at the Kenyatta stadium, Machakos.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) officially launched the campaign to usher in a new design for the national teams’ jerseys.
The jerseys to be designed will be nine (9) in total.

FUFA President Eng.Moses Magogo launched the campaign during the weekly press conference held on Wednesday 17thMarch, 2017 morning at the Federation’s headquarters in Mengo, Kampala.
‘Like we communicated earlier, today is the occasion where the historic jersey that the Cranes used in the AFCON qualification campaign of 2015 and 2017 and in AFCON finals in Gabon will be retired as as away of honour’ said the FUFA President.
The campaign will be open to the general public to summit their entries for a month starting today (22nd March 2017) to 22nd April.
FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo presented the Uganda Cranes historic jerseys to H.E Stephanie Rivoal Ambassador of France to Uganda with captain Geoffrey Massa’s jersey. Yunus Sentamu and Hassan Wasswa jerseys were also given to the France Military team officials who visited FUFA House on Wednesday.
‘We open a campaign whereby for one month starting today will be running for any Ugandan, or group of Ugandans or organisation that is interested in coming up with the new design’ he indicated.
The entries will be open in three categories including the Uganda Cranes (men), Crested Cranes (women) and the other subsequent national teams that will be worn by the Sand Cranes (national beach soccer team), Futsal, National junior teams for mena nd women (Kobs (U23), Hippos (U20) and Cubs (U17)).

‘Unlike previously where all the national teams have been using the same design, this time round the Uganda Cranes and Crested cranes jerseys will be different in design while the other subsequent teams will also have another design but differnet shades’ added Magogo.
The overall winner with all the nine (9) designs will be announced by a panel set up by FUFA and will walk away with a cash prize of UGX 5 million shillings following the terms and conditions in place. The winner will also watch Uganda Cranes games at home free for one year.
