Player Spotlight: Jesca Namanda – In Her Own Words, My Hat-Trick Against Kampala Queens is My Best Moment So Far

The Player Spotlight is a feature by the FUFA Communications Department that offers bold and in-depth conversation with female footballers. It explores mindset, motivation, defining moments and personal reflections. The segment reveals the person behind the player.

In this week’s feature, we sat down with hat-trick hero and current Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League top scorer Jesca Namanda to take us behind the scenes of her football journey.

FUFA COMM:  Can you start by telling us how you developed passion for football in your early stages and your journey to becoming a professional footballer?

JESCA: I hail from a family with a strong footballing background, with both parents being former players and my siblings are actively involved in the sport. That environment naturally fostered my interest in football at an early age. I began playing in primary school, then joined Progressive SS Kawanda, where I was scouted by Luweero Giant Queens. My career then progressed to Rines SS WFC, followed by a brief stint at Fountain Gates in Tanzania, prior to joining my current club, She Corporate FC.

FUFA COMM: To whom do you attribute your inspiration in your career thus far, and how have they influenced your journey?

JESCA: My family is a constant source of inspiration to me; their unwavering support means everything to me. Additionally, I’m also deeply grateful to Coach Edward Lugoloobi who played a huge role in my career. He introduced me to women’s football and helped me to join Luweero Giant Queens. Am so grateful for their guidance and mentorship.

FUFA COMM: Who is your football idol and which player would you love to share the pitch with?

JESCA:  I am a great admirer of Man United WFC striker, Melvine Malard, as she possesses exceptional skills and qualities that make her a remarkable player.

Additionally, I have always been impressed by Phiona Nabbumba’s performance on the pitch, particularly her ability to effectively distribute the ball to teammates. it would be a great experience to share the pitch with her.

FUFA COMM:  You recently renewed your contract at She Corporate FC, what do you enjoy most about playing for this team, and what makes you proud to wear the shark’s jersey?

JESCA:  I am delighted to be part of the She Corporate FC family. It’s a prestigious club that presents a significant opportunity for my career advancement. The team’s ambitions are inspiring. I extend my gratitude to the club chairman, Mr. kaweere Richard for fostering a productive and supportive environment.

FUFA COMM: What is the best moment of your career to date?

JESCA: The hat-trick I scored against Kampala Queens remains one of my notable achievements to date. Given the team’s stature and strength, scoring three goals against them was a significant accomplishment, it’s a challenging task that few players have managed to achieve.

FUFA COMM: What is your favorite goal you’ve scored so far, and what made it so special?

JESCA: The goal I scored against Lady Doves FC at our home stadium last season remains a highlight of my career. Its holds great significance as it was a long-range strike executed with my weaker foot. I take considerable pride in it.

FUFA COMM: What are your individual goals for the rest of the season and how do you hope to achieve them?

JESCA: This season, I set three targets for myself. Firstly, I aimed to score at least one hat-trick in the first round, which I have successfully achieved. Secondly, I strive to become the top scorer, I currently lead the scoring chart, which motivates me to intensify my efforts. My ultimate goal, however, is to lead my team to league victory this season – it’s a team effort, and I’m committed to giving in my all.

FUFA COMM: What do you like to do in your free time, and how do you relax away from football?

JESCA: Football is an integral part of my leisure activities, and I devote a significant portion of my free time to watching matches and viewing footage of prominent strikers.

FUFA COMM: What advice would you give to young girls who want to become footballers?

JESCA: To all young girls out there, put in the hard work, have faith in your abilities and stay disciplined. If you stick to these principles, football can be a game-changer in your life.

  • Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 9 Wrap Up

Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 9 Wrap Up

We look back on a thrilling weekend that featured huge wins for Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, She Corporate FC including Jesca Namanda’s hat-trick and four stalemates.

Here is the full round-up of the weekend’s action.

Jesca Namanda’s hat-trick stuns Kampala Queens.

Lethal forward Jesca Namanda was the hero as She Corporate FC produced an inspired performance to stun champions Kamapala Queens FC  3-2 in a five-goal thriller at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. Jesca’s second-half hattrick handed Kampala Queens their first home defeat of the season.

In the build-up to the game, there was a notable rivalry between the two sides, and the game certainly lived to the billing. Kampala Queens head coach Firew Asefa implemented adjustments to the defensive shape, deploying Marrion Amangat in a central partnership with Esther Namusoke, while Captain Shakira Nankwanga assumed a role of shielding the defense. This tactical setup effectively meant that the queens began the match with a five-player defense line, a strategy evident throughout the first half, as the visitors dominated more possession and posed the greater attacking threat despite both teams creating limited scoring opportunities.

In the second half, similar to the previous encounter, the queens lack of defensive cohesion proved costly, with the sharks’ forwards expertly exploiting these lapses. Their pressing strategy disrupted the hosts attempts to build from the back, gifting the visitors two quick goals after the restart. Jesca Namanda opened the scoring in the 46th minute and scored a penalty six minutes later. Marrion pulled one back for the hosts, but Jesca quickly responded to restore the two-goal cushion. Kampala queens gave themselves hope six minutes past the hour-mark, Catherine Nagadya scored and mounted a more pronounced attacking threat pushing hard for an equalizer, but the sharks defense held firm, securing a 3-2 win.

The result gave She Corporate an enormous psychological lift in their title ambitions, while Firew Asefa’s side would not have been preparing for back-to-back defeats after making an impressive start to the campaign. Firew needs to find a way to raise the team’s energy levels to reignite their form in the final two first round fixtures.

    What the coaches said:

‘I give credit to the opponents; they were more determined. we will review our performance and make the necessary adjustments,’ Sharon Kizza – Kampala Queens FC.

‘At half time, we identified the opponent’s tactic of building from the back, with countered this with more pressing, we scored three goals and secured important three points,’ Pande Cifu – She Corporate FC.

Dorcus Kisakye stars as Kawempe ease past Asubo Ladies.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies reinforced their solid campaign with a 3-0 victory against Asubo Ladies FC at St Mary’s Stadium, kitende. Agnes Nabukenya, Dorcus Kisakye and Asia Nakibuuka each scored a goal, securing the warriors 8th consecutive victory and maintaining their unbeaten record this season.

The warriors started brightly, as an already difficult task for Asubo ladies became tougher two minutes in, Agnes Nabukenya curled a powerful freekick past goalkeeper Olga Lukia to set the tone of proceedings. Asubo Ladies implemented a game plan aimed at frustrating the warriors, to which the latter responded by controlling possession and kept looking for openings. In truth, kawempe Muslim should have gone into half-time with more than one goal to the good, but Agnes Nabukenya’s failure to convert a penalty midway through the first half and the attacking unit’s wasted chances precluded this.

During the second half, the warriors dominance continued, with the visitors having limited time on the ball, woman of the match Dorcus Kisakye who has already endeared herself to the warriors fans since winning a spot in the starting XI this season cemented her place in their hearts with a precise finish from a brilliant team move to double the warriors lead in the 75th minute,  two minutes later, Asia Nakibuuka sealed the 3-0 win for the hosts, lobbing the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper off Samalie’s brilliant pass. The result laid a significant marker as the title race takes shape. It’s a long run but the talk is likely turning to kawempe to win the title.

    Four fixtures end in stalemates.

At Makerere University ground, Resty Kobusobozi scored her sixth goal of the season, giving Lady Doves FC a 1-0 halftime lead. However, Halima Kampi scored a penalty in the second half, rescuing a point for the home team, Makerere University WFC. The match was marked by limited chances, with both teams opting for long balls and creating few scoring opportunities. The believers star player Resty Kobusobozi was named the woman of the match.

Meanwhile, Rines SS WFC salvaged a point in stoppage time, scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Amus College WFC at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium. Esther Namataka had given the visitors the lead at halftime with a precise finish, but Prossy Akasa’s late goal denied them the third straight win. Amus College captain Tamisi Shafiga was named woman of the match.

Olila H/S WFC and She Maroons FC settled for a 1-1 draw at Olila Ground in soroti. The visitors took an early lead through Lillian Kasuubo’s impressive spot kick, but the hosts quickly equalized through Atwani Brenda, and the teams went into half time at a deadlock. The second half was a highly contested affair, but neither team could find the breakthrough, the score remained unchanged. Ayuro Daphine of Olila was named woman of the match.

Meanwhile, the match between St Noa Girls-Zana FC and Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC at Muteesa II Stadium ended in a goalless draw. The result highlighted the Lubaga based side resilient performance, securing a draw against an opponent that had demonstrated strong from in their preceding two matches. Angel Auki Kigongo was named the Woman of the match.

  • Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 9 Preview

Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 9 Preview

The first round of the 2025-2026 is entering its climax. Matchday 9 is shaping up to be a pivotal moment, with teams and players pushing to hit their targets. Six fixtures are spread across the weekend, with four matches on Saturday and two on Sunday.

On Saturday, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC host Asubo Ladies FC, Makerere University WFC welcome Lady Doves FC, Rines SS FC take on Amus College WFC while Olila H/S WFC entertain She Maroons FC.

League leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will aim to extend their impressive seven-game winning streak when they host Asubo Ladies FC at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende, hoping to maintain their unbeaten run in the league. Historically, this fixture has been challenging for the warriors, but timing is on their side – they are riding high on confidence, while the visitors form has been concerning in the recent weeks.

Asubo ladies gameplan will likely involve sitting deep to frustrate the hosts, but the warriors have been brilliant in finding pockets of space this season. Dorcus Kisakye will be crucial, using her skills to navigate tight spaces and unlock the visitors defense, while Asubo Ladies will be counting on their historical advantage to pull off a surprise.

At Makerere University Ground, Makerere University WFC hosts Lady Doves FC aiming to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat. After mixed campaigns, the home side will rely on individual brilliance from Josephine Ndagire, Allen Nassazi and Kampi Halima to secure a crucial win. Lady Doves, on the other hand will aim to revive their season but they will need to fix their issues on the road. Resty Kobusozi’s impressive form will be crucial for the believers, offering a glimmer of hope as they look upset Makerere in their own backyard.

Rines SS WFC will hope to reignite their wining form at home against Amus College WFC at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, aiming to get back on track after a recent setback. With their direct football being a big threat at home, they will be hoping to get the desired result.  But that won’t come easy, as they are facing a side that is in fine form and flying high after Edina’s hat-trick heroics last weekend – their swift counter attacks will be a major threat to the hosts.

Still on Saturday, She Maroons FC will make a long trip to soroti to face Olila H/S WFC at Olila Ground.  The hosts find themselves in a tough zone, still searching for that elusive win. However, at home, they are always a threat and they will be relying on Captain Mary Lotyang to revive their season. However, the visitors are riding high after that convincing win over the defending Champions last weekend, momentum is on their side and they are looking strong. Maxwell Okello’s side will hope to get the job done in the process of beginning a journey to lift them to the top positions.

Matchday nine will conclude on Sunday with two fixtures, Kampala Queens FC host She Corporate FC while St Noa Girls-Zana FC welcome Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC

At MTN Omondi Stadium, two rivals will swing at each other when Kampala Queens FC host She Corporate FC in an epic clash.  A notable rivalry has developed between the two teams since 2021, when She Corporate secured the league title ahead of Kampala Queens on goal difference. Since then, this fixture has garnered significant attention. Both teams enter this fixture tied on 17 points with the home side above. A win in such a highly -pressured match will provide an enormous psychological lift in the title race for either side.

The hosts have been formidable at home, having secured maximum points from all their home fixtures this season, they are likely to miss the services of the league top scorer, Kamiyati Naigaga, who suffered an injury in the recent weeks but with the return of winger Catherine Nagadya, who missed the previous match due to suspension, the queens will be looking to leverage their home advantage and the pace of their attacking unit to secure a favorable outcome.

Meanwhile, whereas, there has been questions of lack of intent and attacking flair from the sharks in big games. In the previous game, long balls, aerial challenges, speed to second balls and highline defending caused Kampala queens all sorts of problems, the sharks will be more than happy to target these flaws. The attacking trio of Jesca Namanda, Sandra Kisakye and Rebecca Nakato will be crucial in She Corporates bid to take points from this match. With both teams evenly matched, this fixture promises to be a highly contested encounter.

Elsewhere, St Noa Girls-Zana FC will be looking to extend their winning streak to three games as they host Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC at Muteesa II stadium. The hosts have been formidable in the previous two games, garnering maximum points with two clean sheets.  Its up to Tonny Mawejje to show that St Noa can make good use of their recent form, a win will be crucial for them to secure a top-four finish ahead of the final two matches in the first round.

Uganda Martyrs on the other hand have showed glimpses of promise, but inconsistency has been an issue. If they can solidify their defense and capitalize on scoring opportunities, they could definitely pull off a surprise.

Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 8 Wrap Up

Matchday 8 delivered thrilling action across five fixtures, showcasing the growing gulf at the top and a fierce scramble in the mid-table. Kawempe maintained their winning form, She Corporate, Amus college and St Noa secured vital wins while Kampala Queens unbeaten run came to end. Edinah Nasipwondi scored the first hat-trick of the league this season.

Here is the full round-up of the weekend’s action.

Doreen Nakayiwa stars as She Maroons end Kampala Queens unbeaten run.

She Maroons FC sealed a convincing 2-0 win over Kampala Queens FC at Prison Gound, Luzira, with Doreen Nakayiwa’s clinical finish and Lillian Kasuubo’s precise penalty in the second half, marking the end of Kampala Queens unbeaten streak this season

Ahead of kickoff, a moment of silence was observed in honor of former player and performance analyst for She Maroons FC Faustine Nalugwa Kiyingi who passed away on Friday 21st November 2025.

The opening exchanges offered few chances for either side, but still She Maroons FC looked the more likely side to threaten and they did that brilliantly throughout the entire forty-five minutes but the game remained goalless at halftime.

In the second half, She Maroons came back a determined unit, fueled by Coach Maxwell Okello’s tactical masterplan, which cleverly exploited the visitor’s high defensive line with pinpoint passes over the top.

The plan paid off in the 52st minute when Shakira Nankwanga faltered in an aerial challenge, allowing Doreen to seize the opportunity for a thrilling solo run. With only goalkeeper Namakula to beat, Doreen skillfully rounded her and slotted the ball home into an empty net.

Woman of the match Doreen’s influence continued just ten minutes later, as she was fouled by Esther in the box, Lillian Kasuubo stepped up to seal the win for She Maroons FC.

    What the coaches said:

‘This was not all about tactics, we had to win it for our fallen staff Faustine,’ Mohammad Ahmed – She Maroons FC

‘We missed some key players which impacted our game plan, but we keep our heads up and focus on the next one,’ Sharon Kizza – Kampala Queens FC.

Kawempe unbeaten run continues with a hard-fought win over Lady Doves

Kawempe Muslim Ladies secured a 1-0 victory against Lady Doves FC at Katusabe Ground to record their seventh successive win this season

Ayub Khalifa’s side arrived at Katusabe ground knowing a victory would put them points ahead of second-placed Kampala Queens who had slipped to defeat on Saturday.

The warriors started brightly as Asia Nakibuuka opened the scoring in the fifth minute, setting the tone of proceedings. Both teams had spells of possession but couldn’t translate it into clear-cut opportunities, leaving the 1-0 scoreline unchanged at the break.

In the second half, the warriors approached the game with a champions spirit, securing maximum points and stretching their lead to five points over Kampala Queens in second place. The title race is wide open, but if the warriors win the league title this season, this victory will likely be remembered as a pivotal moment in their campaign

Ayub Khalifa must be delighted with his team’s defensive solidity this season – they have the meanest defense in the league so far, conceding only four goals after 8 rounds.

She corporate beat Rines SS to return back to winning ways.

She corporate FC coasted to a 2-0 triumph over Rines SS WFC at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

In the build up to this game, the sharks had been struggling to find the back of the net, going two games without a goal, and concerns about their attacking approach had been growing. However, they turned things around, with winger Sandra Kisakye and Rebecca Nakato scoring in the second half to spark a winning return, ensuring a much-needed victory.

It was by no means a superb display and Balyse will have wanted the goals to come much earlier than they did, nevertheless, that kind of controlled performance will surely please the She Corporate head coach. They face a tough fixture, with rivals Kampala Queens FC coming up next weekend.

Right back Nandhego Rebecca was named Woman of the Match

Amus Colllege WFC, St Noa Girls-Zana FC register big wins to keep ascending.

At Amus College stadium, Edinah Nasipwondi scored the league’s first hat-trick of the season, firing Amus College WFC to a convincing 3-0 triumph over Makerere University WFC. Woman of the match Elizabeth scored two goals in the first half and completed her hat-trick with a well taken penalty ten minutes after the restart, keeping them within sight of the early leaders.

At Kampala Quality Ground, visitors St Noa Girls-Zana secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season, as they saw off Asubo Ladies FC 4-0 to move up the table in the fourth place.

St Noa managed to get the job done in a solid, if not a spectacular fashion. Woman of the match, Dorcas Lwalisa scored brace to put them ahead in the first half, Esther babirye and Patricia Nayiga added a goal each after the break to seal a convincing win.

Meanwhile, at St Gerald Ground, Lubaga, the match between Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC and Olila H/S FC was referred to the FUFA Competitions department for resolution, as the away team didn’t honor the fixture.

Player Spotlight: Samalie Nakacwa – In Her Own Words, Ayub Khalifa Is Like A Parent To Me

The Player Spotlight is a feature by the FUFA Communications Department that offers bold and in-depth conversations with female footballers. It explores mindset, motivation, defining moments, and personal reflections. The segment reveals the person behind the player.

In this week’s spotlight feature, Long-serving Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC defender Samalie Nakacwa shares insights about her football career.

FUFA COMM: First, you wear shirt number 9, which is typically associated with strikers. As a right back, what made you choose shirt number 9, and does it bring any extra motivation on the pitch?

SAMALIE: I began my career as a striker, proudly wearing shirt 9. When the coaches shifted my position to right back, I decided to stick with my trusted shirt number.

Yah, shirt 9 motivates me to work harder because it strikes fear into opponents, driving me to prove myself and deliver on the pitch.

FUFA COMM: What has kept you loyal to kawempe Muslim for so many years, almost 7?

SAMALIE: Kawempe has played a huge role in shaping me into the player I am today. Starting my serious football journey here in senior one was a turning point in my life. I’m grateful for the foundation they have given me up to date. Kawempe is more than a team, its home.

FUFA COMM: You have worked with coach Ayub Khalifa for all that period, how would you describe him, and how has his guidance impacted your development as a player?

SAMALIE:  I don’t have words to express my gratitude, Coach Ayub has done a lot to me, he’s like a parent to me, always guiding me and pushing me to be my best. And the entire coaching team at Kawempe, they’ve played a massive role in my development as a player on and off the pitch. Am forever grateful for their support and mentorship.

FUFA COMM: Your trophy cabinet is quite impressive, which title stands out as your favorite, and what made it so special?

SAMALIE:  The 2023/2024 league title is one I’ll will always cherish, it was our first title since the league had been rebranded from FWEL to FWSL, and to win on the final day defeating Kampala Queens 2-0, with me contributing an assist, made it an unforgettable moment!

FUFA COMM: With all your successes, the FUFA Women’s Cup still eludes you, does the wait feel frustrating, or its just a matter of time?

SAMALIE: It’s really frustrating, we’ve had a very good team over the years, but I don’t why we are yet to win it, we were so close last season, reaching the final. Like you have said, maybe it’s a matter of time. We’ll try again this season and see if we can make it happen.

FUFA COMM: You have played with some of the most talented forwards in the league over time, who would you trust to take a last-minute penalty to win a game?

SAMALIE: Quite many but Agnes Nabukenya is clinical from the spot, she doesn’t miss!

FUFA COMM: Lastly, how has football impacted your life outside football?

SAMALIE: Football has opened so many doors for me, and it’s amazing to see people support me just because I’m playing for Kawempe. There are definitely benefits of being a footballer, opportunities you’d miss out on if you weren’t in the game, like travelling outside the country representing Kawempe and Uganda on bigger stages, and meeting new people along the way.

The warriors have been flawless so far, boasting an impressive 19 points from 21, with their first half dominance being a major factor. Their ability to kill off games early has been a key factor in their success, with all their wins this season seeing them ahead at the break – except for a 3-1 thrilling comeback against Olila, where they overturned a 1-0 deficit. They will hope to keep that flawless run intact against Lady Doves, who are riding high on confidence after securing their first win last weekend. The believers will bank on their lethal striker Resty Kobusobozi paired with home advantage to bring consistency to their game. Certainly, a tough test to the warriors awaits.

At FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, She Corporate will aim to steady the ship when host in-form Rines SS WFC. The sharks are in a bit of a lull at the moment while their opponents are better equipped now. She Corporate FC remains winless, and concerningly, they’ve failed to score in their last two fixtures while Rines SS is riding high on a two-game winning streak and back-to-back clean sheets. With the current form, this fixture is wide open, the shark’s midfield will need to play more progressive football if they hope to get the desired result. Meanwhile, Rines have been much happier to play direct football this season, and they will be looking to capitalize on that to keep their winning streak alive.

Elsewhere, Amus College WFC will hope to keep their momentum going with a home fixture against Makerere University WFC at Amus College stadium. They have a reputation of being tough to beat at home, and they will be looking to leverage that home advantage to get the result they need; however, they face a side that’s both physical and packed with individual brilliance. This promises to be a tightly contested match.

Meanwhile, Asubo Ladies FC, winless so far this season, will aim to turn their fortunes around when they host St Noa Girls-Zana FC at Kampala Quality Ground. Despite lack of wins, they have shown promise, especially at home. However, the visitors attacking prowess and firepower make them tough opponents and will aim to make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 7 Wrap-Up

Match week seven delivered mixed results with plenty of excitement, thrilling goals, maiden wins and tough losses. Kawempe Muslim Ladies and Kampala Queens triumphed while Lady Doves secured their maiden victory. Here is the full round-up of the weekend’s action.

Kawempe win six on the bounce with a maiden victory over Amus

Kawempe edged Amus College WFC 2–1 at Kawempe Muslim SS Ground. A strike by Agnes Nabukenya and an own goal by Amiya Jazirah secured the Warriors’ first win over Amus College, but a late consolation by Aujat Doreen denied them a fourth consecutive clean sheet.

The Warriors delivered another outstanding performance led by a magnificent display from Woman of the Match Agnes Nabukenya. They registered a sixth consecutive win. A key factor in this run is Ayub Khalifa’s tactic of overloading the midfield with four or five players to create more attacking space and make it difficult for opponents to defend. The partnership of Agnes and Dorcus Kisakye has clicked and they are troubling opponents. The front three of Latifa, Jovia and Asia look slick and confident in the final third.

The league leaders made a bright start, with a powerful free kick by Agnes Nabukenya deflecting off Amiya Jazirah for an own goal at the quarter-hour mark to give them a 1–0 lead at the break.

Upon the restart, the Warriors kept their momentum, dominated possession and doubled their lead with ten minutes to go. It was a classic Kawempe goal. Latifah, Dorcus, Krusum and Agnes worked the ball well, exchanged passes and Agnes unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box to score her fourth goal of the season.

A late surge by the visitors saw them pull one back in stoppage time through Aujat Doreen, but the Warriors held on to win 2–1.

Catherine Nagadya shines in third consecutive win for Kampala Queens

Kampala Queens FC coasted to a 2–0 win over Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC in driving rain on Sunday morning at MTN Omondi Stadium.

Kampala Queens have improved in recent weeks and this is mainly because Firew Asefa has found his winning team. He has named the same starting XI for the three previous games, making only one change on Sunday with Peace Muduwa replacing Teddy Najjuma in the starting XI. This tweak has sparked three consecutive wins and three consecutive clean sheets. Gloria Namakula has not conceded since replacing Sharon Kaidu in goal.

The Queens got off to a flying start through former Uganda Martyrs player Catherine Nagadya who delivered a majestic performance with a brace. She scored a penalty in the 14th minute and added another on the stroke of half time. She has now scored five goals this season and is only one behind league top scorer and teammate Kamiyati Naigaga.

In the second half, the hosts pushed for more goals but the visitors held firm.

The result highlighted how the Queens have found their top gear. They dominate possession, compress space and use the speed of their front three to attack quickly. They sit second on the table, only two points behind league leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.

    Makerere hold She Corporate

Makerere University WFC and She Corporate FC settled for a goalless draw at Makerere University Ground.

In the build-up to this game, the pressure was on She Corporate FC to bounce back from last week’s 2–0 defeat to Kawempe, but they struggled to play with confidence and resorted to long balls, a contrast to their attacking flair in the first month of the league.

Fred Ndawula’s homework paid off. Makerere’s tactics led by Josephine Ndagire denied the Sharks midfield the freedom to play progressive football. Woman of the Match Phiona Catherine Namukose and Nambozo formed an outstanding centre-half partnership and proved pivotal, keeping the Sharks’ main striker Jesca Namanda quiet throughout.

Makerere gained momentum in the final thirty minutes after introducing winger Namiiro Noeline, but a golden chance slipped away when Halima Kampi failed to head home with goalkeeper Molly Naava already beaten.

‘We have lost two points. We were a better team and deserved to win but the late miss proved costly,’ Fred Ndawula told this website after the game.

She Corporate FC are now five points off the pace and have a psychological mountain to climb.

‘It is frustrating that we are not scoring. We are going to focus a lot on that area in training. We need to create more scoring opportunities,’ She Corporate FC assistant coach Pande Cifu said about the Sharks’ goal drought.

Lady Doves, Rines SS WFC and St Noa pick vital wins

Lady Doves FC registered a breakthrough win after a 3–1 victory over Asubo Ladies FC at Katusabe Ground, marking a turning point in their campaign. Last season’s top scorer Resty Kobusoboozi delivered individual brilliance with a brace and now has five goals. Dorcus Kwikiriza scored the other goal while Bridget Nabayaza netted Asubo’s consolation. The Lady Doves star player was named Woman of the Match.

At Olila Ground, St Noa Girls-Zana secured a 2–0 win over Olila H/S WFC to end a three-game drought where chances did not translate into points. Woman of the Match Patricia Nayiga and Babirye Kasongo each scored to give the visitors a well-deserved win, their first on the road this season.

At Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, a strike by Yasmeen Nalukwago guided Rines SS to a second consecutive victory over She Maroons FC. Coach Nyanzi Bright will be pleased with his team’s defensive improvement after keeping back-to-back clean sheets. The result highlighted She Maroons’ ongoing struggles on the road. Rines SS star player Justine Ayerango was named Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match.

  • Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 7 Preview

Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 7 Preview

The 2025-2026 season hits the one-third mark this weekend with 6 fixtures spread across two days, four matches on Saturday and two on Sunday. With teams eager to climb places on the log, match week seven promises intriguing action.

On Saturday, League leaders kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will be aiming for a sixth consecutive league victory when they welcome 4th placed Amus College WFC at Kawempe Muslim SS Ground.  The warriors come into this fixture brimming with confidence after delivering a tactical masterclass driven by both brilliant individual and teamwork performance against, She Corporate last time out. Kawempe’s early impressive form has been fueled by their unpredictability, with different players stepping up to be match-winners in different games. They will be keen to keep that streak alive against Amus College WFC, aside that’s flying high and performing majestically, especially with the return of their key player, Kenyan international Shayline Opisa. Coach Frank Anyau’s tactics will pose a tough test to the warriors, as he’ll likely sit deep and look to strike on the counter. Its match-up to watch, as Amus college will undoubtedly mount a strong challenge.

At Makerere University Ground, Makerere University WFC and She corporate FC will face off as both teams will be eager to return back to winning ways. The sharks resurgence was slowed down last week and will be keen to respond with a result that supercharges their impressive start to the campaign, however the greatest battle will be against themselves, as they need to shrug off kawempe’s 2-0 defeat and not let it fester in their mindset. If they get past that, they can unleash their fire power, with Jesca Namanda and Sandra Kisakye leading the charge to rack up maximum points, but in Makerere, they face a physical side hungry for a win after two consecutive losses-they’ll be desperate to avoid a third. It will be a tough encounter for the visitors as Makerere is a tough place to visit.

Meanwhile at Olila Ground, Soroti. Olila H/S WFC will be looking for a much-needed revival after a slow start as they host St Noa Girls-Zana, who come into this game winless in their last 3 outings, despite dominating proceedings, they have been unable to translate that dominance into wins-a concern that has persisted for a third week running. They will hope to change that against Olila, but it won’t come easy, as Olila are a very strong team playing Infront of their own fans. it promises to be a close contest.

Still on Saturday. Lady Doves FC who are still searching for their break through win host Asubo Ladies FC at Katusabe Ground in Masindi. The believers might not be in any immediate danger but analysis of their results this season suggest things might not be secure as they seem. It might not be late but they urgently need to get their house in order. Up next is Asubo Ladies, a side that has been building momentum with three consecutive draws, and are showing signs of clicking into gear. Their players are growing in confidence match by match, and a win is imminent.  This is a match that any team can pick points, given the state of play, as both teams are evenly matched.

Match day 7 will conclude on Sunday with two fixtures, Kamapala Queens FC host Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC while Rines SS WFC welcome She Maroons FC.

The defending champions Kampala Queens FC will aim to win three consecutive league victories for the first time this season when they welcome Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC at Omondi Stadium Lugogo. At home, the Queens have been formidable, what’s most impressive about Firew Asefa’s side is the energy and attacking intent they show at home, they have racked up maximum points and seem to be hitting their top gear. The team is also finding a greater defensive balance as they have kept two consecutive clean sheets, with their newfound confidence, they come into this fixture with an upper hand. However, the Lubaga based side picked a draw from this stadium last season and could draw inspiration from that to cause an upset.

At Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Rines SS WFC host She Maroons FC, with both teams riding high on previous wins, setting up an epic contest. A win for either side could be a significant step up on the log. The hosts will pin their hopes on Phiona Arach and Yasmeen Nalukwago to secure the three points, while the visitors will hope Lillian kasuubo maintains her scoring form and bring home the win. Home advantage could prove pivotal for Rines, given She Maroons struggles on the road.

  • Player spotlight: Namakula Gloria — ‘I want to win the Golden Glove this season’

Player spotlight: Namakula Gloria — ‘I want to win the Golden Glove this season’

The Player Spotlight is a feature by the FUFA Communications Department that offers bold and in-depth conversations with female footballers. It explores mindset, motivation, defining moments and personal reflections. The segment reveals the person behind the player.

In this week’s feature, seasoned goalkeeper and Kampala Queens FC shot stopper Namakula Gloria, also known as Zaza, takes us behind the scenes of her football journey so far.

FUFA COMM: First, why were you nicknamed Zaza and how did you develop passion for football in your early days?
NAMAKULA: I got my nickname Zaza after the legendary former player Simone Zaza. Growing up in a family of boys sparked my passion for the game at an early age. When I joined Senior One at Royal College, I immediately joined the school team which later formed Ajax Queens and competed in league football. I initially played as a midfielder, but my desire to save penalties led me to switch to goalkeeping.

FUFA COMM: You started playing in the league at a young age. How do you assess the level of competition then and now?
NAMAKULA: Back then, competition was mainly fierce in school football, but over time we have seen a significant rise in the number of talented players, teams and leagues. Every league game now feels like a final. Competition is much higher compared to past years.

FUFA COMM: Who has been your biggest inspiration in your football journey so far?
NAMAKULA: My biggest inspirations have been my father and Coach Charles Kayemba Lwanga. They have constantly pushed me to work hard and instilled in me an unwavering belief in my abilities.

FUFA COMM: You have guided your club to back-to-back clean sheets this season. What does that mean to you, and what are your personal targets this season?
NAMAKULA: It means a lot to me and gives me great morale. As a goalkeeper, there is no greater pride than keeping a clean sheet, but I owe it all to my amazing teammates. We work together as a cohesive unit. My ultimate target this season is to win the Golden Glove award.

FUFA COMM: Is there a particular save or moment that stands out in your career so far?
NAMAKULA: Yes, the penalty saves I made against Hasifa Nassuna and Sandra Nabweteme while playing for Ajax Queens in the inaugural FUFA Women’s Cup in 2017 still stand out. I saved eight penalties out of ten in the shoot-out, although we eventually lost the game 2–1 to Kawempe Muslim.

FUFA COMM: Who would you say is the most challenging striker you have faced in your career?
NAMAKULA: Hasifa Nassuna. She has the skill, speed and accuracy to score from anywhere on the pitch.

FUFA COMM: How do you assess your team’s chances of defending the title, considering no team has done it before?
NAMAKULA: Our chances are extremely high, around 90 percent. We have a solid team and the players are highly determined. I am confident we can do it.

FUFA COMM: What is your pre-game ritual or anything that helps you perform at your best?
NAMAKULA: Prayer is my secret weapon. It boosts my focus and gives me the confidence to take on any opponent.

FUFA COMM: What message do you have for young goalkeepers who look up to you?
NAMAKULA: To all young goalkeepers out there, keep working hard, believe in yourself, maintain discipline, stay focused and trust that your time will come. For instance, I went through three seasons without playing, but I never gave up. I kept training and now I am glad to be performing well.

FUFA COMM: Lastly, what does a typical rest day look like for you, and if you were not playing football, which other sport would you choose?
NAMAKULA: In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, following football and playing Ludo. If I were not a footballer, I would have loved to be a netball player or a 100-metre athlete.

  • Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 6 Wrap Up

Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League: Matchday 6 Wrap Up

We are only midway through the first round but the 2025/2026 season has already delivered quite a number of talking points. Match week six had a huge impact on the standings as there was plenty of movement over the weekend. Rines SS WFC got off the mark, Kampala Queens and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC picked vital wins while She Corporate FC’s unbeaten run came to an end.

Here is the full round-up of the weekend’s action.

Kampala Queens triumph despite St Noa’s dominance.

Catherine Nagadya scored the decisive goal, securing Kampala Queens a hard-fought 1-0 win against St Noa Girls-Zana FC at Muteesa II Stadium.

This is St Noa’s debut campaign in the league, but you wouldn’t know it while watching the hosts dominate against the defending Champions. The home side flowed with confidence from the outset, producing a hugely entertaining game but it was the visitors who got the lead six minutes past the half-hour mark through Catherine Nagadya, capitalising on a defensive lapse to net her third goal of the season in three consecutive games. The winger is stepping up brilliantly to lead the Queens’ title defence.

The host’s head coach was satisfied with the display but hurt they didn’t win the 3 points.

‘We controlled the game, got into the key areas but we lacked the cutting edge, its hurts but we lost against a strong team; however, we have got plenty of positives to take into the next fixtures,’ Tonny Mawejje told this website after the match.

On the other hand, Kampala Queens Assistant Coach Sharon Kizza was satisfied with the result.

‘Our players showed seniority, the hosts played better, but we capitalised on our chance and defended resiliently. These are three important points away from home,’ she told this website after the match.

The result marked back-to-back clean sheets for the Queens, who sit second on the table, while St Noa remain in the mid-zone. Zainabu Birungi was named the Woman of the Match.

Kawempe too strong for She Corporate FC to go top.

Latifah Nakasi inspired Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC to a 2-0 triumph over She Corporate FC at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. The forward’s stunning brace in 18 minutes proved decisive to end the Sharks unbeaten run.

Whatever Ayub Khalifa said to the players in the locker room before the game worked wonders. The warriors got off to a flying start as Latifah Nakasi reacted fastest to tap home a loose ball in the box, scoring in the opening minute, setting the tone of the proceedings early on in a 4-1-2-3 shape, overloading the sharks’ defence and causing tactical difficulties for them. The warriors’ front three of Jovia Nakagolo, Asia Nakibuuka and Latifah Nakasi looked sharp, using speed to attack quickly, creating chance after chance. This dominance paid off in the 18th minute when Latifah tapped home Jovia’s cutback, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.  Upon restart, the warriors stopped the sharks from playing progressive football, limiting them to a few chances, securing three vital points on the road to propel them to the top of the table.

Ayub Khalifa will be much happier with the collective defensive unit that kept three clean sheets on the bounce. They are looking way stronger than last season. Speaking to this website after the game, the tactician highlighted the importance of the win.

‘The win is a big boost for us, it was a must-win for us to go to the top of the table. I am glad the girls delivered the three points.’

Rines SS WFC get off the mark.

Rines SS WFC edged Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC 1-0 at St Gerald’s Ground to secure their maiden victory of the season. Yasmeen Nalukwago’s 27th-minute strike proved decisive after goalkeeper Joan Namusisi failed to deal with a well-worked corner, finding Nalukwago well-positioned to slot home.

Despite the hosts’ relentless pressure in the second half, teenage goalkeeper Bridget Nansamba made a string of stand-out saves to ensure they claimed the 3 points. Her efforts were rewarded with the Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match award.

She Maroons FC and Amus College FC return back to winning ways.

She Maroons FC cruised to a 2-1 victory against Makerere University WFC at Prison Grounds, Luzira, with goals from Immaculate Kizza and Lillian Kasuubo securing the victory, while Halima Kampi scored the consolation for the university side.

At Amus College Stadium, Amus College WFC secured a comfortable 2-0 victory against Lady Doves FC, thanks to goals from Opisa Shayline and Aujat Doreen.

Amus College WFC player Charity Katusiime was named the Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match.

The wins propelled Amus College WFC and She Maroons FC to 4th and 5th positions on the log, respectively.

    Asubo and Olila share spoils.

Asubo Ladies FC and Olila H/S WFC played out a 2-2 thrilling draw. With the hosts taking a two-goal lead at halftime, thanks to goals from Faiza Bint Ibrahim and Mercy Nimusiima, only for the visitors to mount a stunning comeback in the second half, with Mary Lotyang scoring twice to level the game and was named the Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match.

  • Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League; Matchday 6 Preview, She Corporate Hosts Kawempe In A Top-Of-The-Table Clash

Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League; Matchday 6 Preview, She Corporate Hosts Kawempe In A Top-Of-The-Table Clash

Matchday 6 promises intriguing action as the top four sides face off against each other. While the talk of the title race may seem premature, a positive result in these fixtures could well be a catalyst on the road to success for either side. Six fixtures are spread across the weekend, with two matches on Saturday and four on Sunday.

On Saturday, St Noa Girls-Zana FC welcome Kampala Queens FC while Uganda Martyrs take on Rines SS WFC.

Debutants St Noa Girls-Zana FC who are winless in the last three matches host defending Champions Kampala Queens at Muteesa II stadium in a crucial encounter. Having won 5-0 to Olila, last time out, the queens will come into this game with much confidence. Fortunately, they have the most in form forward Kamiyati Naigaga in their ranks, who is on a five-game-scoring streak and crowned player of month for October. With his creative midfield unit in top form and firing from all cylinders, Firew Asefa who made a year at the palace on Tuesday, will be confident of securing a positive result.

However, in St Noa, the queens are going to face one of the most demanding teams in the league. Their attack has been outstanding, boasting the ability to trouble any side in the league. With forwards Dorcus Lwalisa and Patricia Nayiga leading the charge, they will be looking to get back on track. However, Coach Tonny Mawejje will need to strengthen his defense, which has been vulnerable lately.

Still on Saturday, Uganda Martyrs will look to build on their momentum and spring further up the log when they host Rines SS WFC at St Gerald’s Ground, Lubaga. The hosts, building on their impressive recent form, will hope the collective effort, spearheaded by Brenda Munyana and Nusulah Nakintu will yield their first home win.  On the other hand, Rines, familiar with the Lubaga based outfit from school football, will look to leverage that knowledge to put up a strong fight and claim their first win of the season.

Matchday six will conclude on Sunday, She Corporate FC host Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, Amus College WFC welcome Lady Doves FC, Asubo Ladies FC take on Olila H/S WFC while She Maroons entertain Makerere University WFC.

She corporate FC and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC face off in an epic top of the table clash at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. Both teams have made impressive starts, remaining unbeaten thus far. The sharks remain solid at home with maximum points but Kawempe equally has a flawless away record, racking up maximum points on the road. They are all level on 13 points, but sharks hold the edge with a superior goal difference of 8, compared to 6 of the warriors. Interestingly, both team’s attacks have been clinical and ruthless this season, making a significant impact. The forwards have been in scintillating form, with every single one of them already earning the woman of the match honors.  With the leagues meanest defenses facing off, both coaches are aware that the stakes are high.

‘We know it will be a tough game, but we have worked hard to get here, we taking it game by game, focusing on playing good football, but most importantly, getting the three points at home’ said Ininahazwe Belyse, Head Coach, She Corporate FC.

His counterpart Ayub Khalifa equally believes it will not be an easy game,

‘They have had a good start, but we are confident in our players abilities, we will stick to our game plan and aim to pick maximum points’

She corporate will hope the attacking trio Sandra Kisakye, jesca Namanda and former warrior’s player Rebecca Nakato deliver another impressive performance to unlock the visitors defense while Kawempe will rely on the firepower of Latifah Nakasi, Agnes Nabukenya and Jovia Nakagolo to secure a positive result.

At Kampala Quality Ground, Asubo Ladies FC, who have shown recent improvement, will be keen to claim their first win when they host Olila H/S WFC. The hosts will pin their hopes in Shadia Babirye and collective teamwork to trouble Olila’s defense while the visitors will look to build on promise, they have shown in the recent games to get a positive result. This match promises to be an intense affair, with both teams desperate to climb out of the drop zone.

Elsewhere, Amus college WFC will hope to steady the ship when they host Lady Doves FC who are still searching their breakthrough win at Amus College stadium. Both teams have had uneven starts to the campaign, but they will be looking to flip the script. It’s a tight contest as both teams desperately need the points.

At Prison Ground, Luzira. She Maroons FC and Makerere University WFC face off with both team’s hungry to get back on track. With individual brilliance on either side, home advantage could prove decisive in this contest.

FUFA COMM: Congratulations on your graduation. How does it feel to finally achieve this milestone?
SUMAYA: I am overwhelmed with gratitude to have achieved this milestone. It has been a challenging three-year journey but I am thankful for the experience. I thank the Almighty Allah, our Director Mr Julius Mugisha and everyone who has supported me throughout my university journey. I encourage all female footballers to prioritise education.

FUFA COMM: What made you fall in love with the game, and when did you first start playing football? Which position did you play and has it changed over time?
SUMAYA: I grew up with great passion for football but I got my first chance to play during my Primary Seven vacation. That experience sparked a journey that took me to Highway SS Sironko for school football, and later to Lady Doves FC. Crested Cranes player Fazila Ikwaput’s story and achievements inspired me to start playing as well. Her name was well known in the eastern region at the time and it motivated me so much.

FUFA COMM: Can you share your most memorable moment from your football journey so far?
SUMAYA: My highlight so far was scoring in my first start for Lady Doves FC against Rines SS WFC last season, ending a long stretch of coming on as a substitute. Unfortunately, I got injured in the same game.

FUFA COMM: What is the best sporting advice you have ever received and from whom?
SUMAYA: Coach Emmanuel Boranapate of Nkumba University has been a game changer for me. He taught me to trust and believe in myself, learn from setbacks and stay focused. With his advice, I am confident I will reach my goals.

FUFA COMM: What are your goals on and off the pitch?
SUMAYA: My goal is to succeed and make an impact whenever I am given the chance to play. I will take it step by step and with hard work and determination, I will get there. Off the pitch, I have built a strong foundation with my degree in Business Administration. I am passionate about the business side of sport and I am determined to make a mark as a leading woman in sports business.

FUFA COMM: How do you think your team can turn around the current state of play?
SUMAYA: We have had a slow start but the coaches have been working closely with us, reviewing each game and guiding us on how to improve. We are learning from our mistakes and we are more determined than ever. The next game is a fresh start and we are going to start winning.

FUFA COMM: How do you keep yourself entertained on long bus trips to away matches?
SUMAYA: Our team has a good vibe but personally I usually watch movies or listen to my favourite music.

FUFA COMM: Lastly, if you could have dinner with two footballers, past or present, who would they be and why?
SUMAYA: Laughs… It would be Fazila Ikwaput and Riticia Naboosa because they have both played an important role in my career to date.

The weekend delivered stunning moments and stoppage-time drama to keep the early title race intriguing.  Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and She Corporate FC extended their winning streak to four games, while Kampala Queens returned to winning ways, and Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC registered their first win.

Here is the full round-up of the weekend’s action.

Agnes Nabukenya maintains Kawempe’s winning streak.

Captain Agnes Nabukenya netted twice as Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC coasted to a 2-0 triumph over She Maroons FC at Kawempe Muslim SS Ground.

The warriors asserted their dominance from the outset, showcasing relentless attacking intent. The payoff came in the 21st minute when Skipper Agnes Nabukenya converted from the spot after Dorcus Kisakye, who made her first start of the season, was fouled in the box. Just before halftime, Agnes sealed a 2-0 win with a thunderous free kick, her third goal of the season.

What will please Ayub Khalifa most is the influence of his key players in the different game situations. She Maroons put up a physical fight but Krusum Namutebi was up to the task. Agnes Nabukenya, the Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match, Jovia Nakagolo and Asia Nakibuuka pressed effectively. Dorcus Kisakye was a constant threat; the defensive shape held strong. Overall, it was a great team effort.

The victory marked the warriors’ fourth straight win and back-to-back clean sheets, putting them joint top with their upcoming opponents, She Corporate FC, on Sunday at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

She Corporate FC’s remarkable start continues

The Sharks announced their title credentials with a gritty fourth straight win, defying history to triumph at a venue where they had previously gone winless in their previous three visits, proving their firm determination this season. They are showing all the signs of a team that is clicking; their calm, collective mentality with strong team bonding is proving to be pivotal.

She Corporate FC staged a thrilling comeback to defeat Lady Doves FC 2-1 at Katusabe Ground. The visitors trailed after Resty Kobusobozi headed home the believers early on, but the lead was short-lived as Leticia Nakyeyune capitalised on a goalkeeper’s error to level the score.

In the second half, both teams battled fiercely, and the match remained deadlocked until stoppage time, when star player Jesca Namanda struck gold to send the away fans into raptures.

The victory kept the Sharks at the top of the table for a third consecutive week, level on thirteen points with Kawempe Muslim but with better goal advantage. For Lady Doves, its not too late to turn around the false start for the 2021 Champions. She, Corporate Winger Sandra Kisakye, was named Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match.

Kampala Queens overcome Olila H/S WFC

Kamapala Queens FC returned to winning ways in style with a resounding 5-0 victory over Olila H/S WFC at MTN Omondi Stadium. Kamiyati Naigaga, Catherine Nagadya, Zaitun Namaganda and Joanita Ainembabazi [ who scored a brace] did the damage.

The queens dominated possession from the outset, creating numerous chances, but the breakthrough came in the 42nd minute, and they scored three goals in a span of five minutes to lead 3-0 at halftime. The second half followed a similar script, with Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match Joanita Ainembabazi adding a brace to seal a comprehensive victory.

Coming into this game, the queens were still searching for their first clean sheet. Coach Firew Asefa made a tactical change in goal, starting Namakula Gloria instead of Sharon Kaidu, which paid off as they secured their first clean sheet. What stood out was the impressive combination play among the queen’s forwards, who were involved in all five goals. They now have the best goal advantage in the league, which could prove pivotal in their title defence.

Uganda Martyrs get off the mark

Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC had shown promise in previous games, despite failing to yield positive results. Their goalkeeper Joan Namusisi has been outstanding, and forwards have been creating chances in front of the goal.

However, all that changed when they cruised to 1-0 victory over Makerere University WFC at Makerere University Ground, registering their first win and clean sheet of the season. Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match Brenda Munyana scored the decisive goal in the final five minutes. The victory provides the Uganda Martyrs with the much-needed momentum to steady the ship.

Elsewhere, Asubo Ladies FC earned a crucial point away from home, drawing 0-0 against Amus College WFC at Amus College Stadium. This marks a notable improvement for Asubo Ladies, following up last week’s point against the defending champions. Their promising player Namataka Jemima earned the Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match.

At Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Rines SS WFC and St Noa Girls-Zana settled for a 1-1 draw, sharing the spoils. Patricia Nanyanzi’s penalty kick cancelled out Esther Babirye’s early strike. The result leaves Rines still searching for their breakthrough win. Their player Ayerango Justine was named the Finance Trust Bank Woman of the Match.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC who have set the tone early this season with high intensity attacking footballhost She Maroons FC at Kawempe Muslim SS Ground.

For the warriors to extend their winning run, the trio of Jovia Nakagolo, Asia Nakibuuka and Latifah Nakasi will need to be more clinical in tight spaces, leveraging their recent form to overcome an opponent that makes it physically uncomfortable to frustrate high ranking opposition. The warriors strong form and home advantage will give them a boost but they’ll we need to kill off games more decisively to avoid a repeat of their last two nail-biting finishes. She Maroons on the other hand will need to capitalize on the scoring opportunities as they arise, Norah Alupo and Lillian Kasuubo possess the attacking threat but they will face a stern test against the warriors’ defense, which has been improving game by game.

Still on Saturday, Amus College WFC will be eager to get back to winning ways when they host Asubo Ladies FC at Amus College Stadium. With a resilient style that can grind out results, and quality firepower upfront, they will be confident of a positive outcome, especially with the return of star player Shayline Opisa, who missed the last two games due to national team duties with the Harambe Starlets. Playing at home, the hosts will aim to be compact and solid to secure a much-needed victory. However, they won’t have an easy ride, as the visitors are riding high on confidence after a spirited 2-2 draw against the defending champions. Asubo Ladies FC will build on that momentum to cause an upset again. Playmaker Shadia Babirye is in good form and will ready to drive the team forward.

Matchday 5 will conclude on Sunday with three fixtures, Kampala Queens FC host Olila High School FC, St Noa Girls-Zana welcome Rines SS WFC while Makerere University WFC take on Uganda Martyrs High School WFC.

Defending champions Kampala Queens FC aim to get back on track when they host Olila High WFC at Omondi stadium. A is slight problem is beginning to develop for Firew Asefa, the queens are not looking solid defensively and that could prove costly. However, their goal-scoring ability is impressive, with the highest number of goals scored this season. The creative midfield duo of Catherine Nagadya and Kamiyati Naigaga will be key, using their progressive passing to Olila’s defense and give the Queens the edge they need. Top scorer Kamiyati Naigaga will be keen to extend her scoring streak to five games. Olila H/S WFC on the hand, will need to press well and defend in numbers, if they succeed in suppressing space between the lines. They might frustrate the defending champions.

Makerere University WFC, who have had a mixed start to the season host Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC at Makerere University Ground. The visitors are yet to taste victory this season but have shown attacking promise in the previous games. Its not too late to turn things around, they need to solidify their defense and capitalize on scoring opportunities as they arrive. Wingers Nusulah Nakintu and Brenda Munyana will be crucial in driving the team forward. Makerere will rely on moments of individual brilliance to secure a positive result at home.

At kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Rines SS WFC who are seeking their first win of the season, host debutants St Noa Girls-Zana FC who are having a good season so far, will go all out to close the gap on the leaders, with Dorcas Lwalisa, Esther Babirye and Patricia Nayiga leading the charge in attack to unlock the host’s defense. Rines on the other hand will likely adopt a more conservative approach, looking to exploit spaces on the counter-attack.
