The win took Lady Doves FC further from the relegation zone.

The fixture between Rines SS WFC and Lady Doves FC will get Matchday nine of the 2021/22 FUFA Women Super League underway on Friday.
Both Rines and Lady Doves come into Friday’s clash at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium seeking to improve given their sloppy start to the season.
Lady Doves who are the reigning Champions have had an indifferent campaign so far and looked a shadow of themselves given the lacklustre performance.

The League new comers are currently second from bottom and the ultimate target is to remain in the top tier.

The Sharks who are chasing their maiden league title needed to dig deep to overcome a resilient FC Tooro Queens side on Sunday in Nakawa at MUBS Arena courtesy of Phiona Nabbumba’s goal. The decisive moment came in the 43rd minute when the midfielder tucked the ball beyond onrushing goalkeeper Gloria Namakula.
Victory meant, She Corporate remained top of the log on 20 points with one game to play in the first round. They will face Kampala Queens on Saturday, 2nd April at IUIU, Kabojja in the top of the table clash.

Kampala Queens themselves earned maximum points off Olila High School WFC at Soroti Stadium on Sunday. Ever reliable Margaret Kunihira was once again to the rescue of the Football Queens scoring the solitary goal of the game which meant they moved back to second place on 15 points.
Smartly dressed in Snow white and black attire, Olila High School need to press the winning buttons again after falling to Kampala Queens FC.
This was the fifth goal for Kunihira at Kampala Queens this season and she is now the joint top scorer alongside Olila’s Grace Aluka.

Kawempe Muslim bounced back to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 away victory over defending champions Lady Doves FC at Katusabe Stadium in Masindi. Teenage striker Aziiza Amuleni Amoding scored for Kawempe Muslim to help them move to 5th position with 10 points from 6 games.

In Luzira, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC piled more pressure on off colour She Maroons FC, winning 2-1. The Kiddawalime Girls needed to come from a goal down to nick all three points. She Maroons had taken the lead through skipper Millicent Mwanzi but Uganda Martyrs rallied back through Latifa Nakasi and second half substitute Brenda Munyana.

She Corporate FC have been the most impressive so far and currently lead the log on 17 points. The runaway leaders are four points above second placed UCU Lady Cardinals FC.
The Sharks who drew goalless against She Maroons last weekend will hope to bounce to winning ways as they host FC Tooro Queens on Sunday in Nakawa.
The visitors have only won once this season. Their victory came away to Uganda Martyrs WFC but five of their seven games have ended in stalemates and losing the other.
Against She Corporate, the Fort Portal based outfit will have to dig deep inorder to secure maximum points. It should be noted that the former are the only unbeaten side in the League.

Action in the FUFA Women Super League resumed on Wednesday with two fixtures played in Kampala.
At IUIU Ground, Kabojja Kampala Queens were up against Uganda Martyrs WFC while UCU Lady Cardinals visited Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at the Valley Ground.
Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC were yet again stunned at home, suffering a 1-0 loss to the University side.
In the game where the hosts created numerous scoring opportunities, their wastefulness came back to haunt as UCU Lady Cardinals nicked victory at the very end.

Substitute Jackie Nakasi scored the lone goal of the game that came in the second minute of added time.
The result meant Kawempe Muslim suffered their third loss this season in six games and remain 6th on the table. They will return to action on Saturday away to Lady Doves FC in Masindi.

On the other side, UCU Lady Cardinals put a halt to a poor run that had seen them pick just a point from the last three outings.
Victory moved them to second place on 13 points thus reducing the gap on leaders She Corporate to four.
In the other game played on Wednesday, Kampala Queens were held at home by Uganda Martyrs WFC.
Despite taking the lead at the stroke of halftime through Margaret Kunihira, Kampala Queens failed to hold onto their lead and resilient Uganda Martyrs WFC fought back to earn at least a point.

Defender Winnie Nakanwagi headed home Elizabeth Nakigozi’s free kick delivery in the 84th minute to level matters.

The Masindi based outfit who had a sloppy start to the season have shown signs of improvement judging from the last two games that also included defeating FC Tooro Queens last weekend for their first win this season.
Action will continue on Wednesday with two games on card. Kampala Queens will be hoping to close the gap on leaders She Corporate when they host Uganda Martyrs WFC.Victory will take Kampala Queens to 14 points, three behind She Corporate FC.

Uganda’s quest for a slot at the 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup came to an end on Sunday, after getting knocked out by Ethiopia.
The return leg played at Abebe Bikila Stadium ended in a one all draw, a result that saw Ethiopia progress to the next round.

Captain Shakira Nyinagahirwa fired Uganda in the lead, scoring in the 34th minute. However, Ethiopia got the equalizer in the second half through Eyerusalem Wondemu.
The result meant Ethiopia progressed to the second round on away goals rule. It should be noted that the first leg at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende ended in a two all draw.
In that game, Hadijah Nandago had scored a brace but Ethiopia netted two late goals.
Ethiopia will therefore face South Africa at the next stage of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

The Uganda U-17 national women team head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi has named the travelling squad to Ethiopia for the return leg of the 2022 FFIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup qualifiers.
The return leg will be played on Sunday, 20th March 2022 in Addis Ababa.
A delegation of 33 people departs the Country on Friday afternoon 18th March 2022 at 2 PM aboard Ethiopian Airlines.
Kiyingi is optimistic that the team will give their best show in the return leg.

The 2021/22 FUFA Women Elite League campaign got underway over the weekend with thrilling action witnessed across different grounds.
Three teams managed to register wins on the opening matchday with the other three fixtures ending in stalemates.
In Victoria Group, Isra Soccer Academy dispatched Ajax Queens FC at Kikaaya Playground, winning the game 3-1.
Striker Jovia Nakagolo netted a hat trick to guide Isra to victory. Ajax Queens got their consolation goal through Martha Nalunkuuma.
In the same group, Bunyaruguru Girls and King of Kings from Fort Portal played out a one all draw.
Harriet Nawera scored for Bunyaruguru Girls while King of Kings scored through Carol Kobugabe.
Luweero Giant Queens salvaged a point against Asubo Gafford Ladies thanks to an equalizer from Josephine Mukungu. Teddy Nyafwono had given Gafford Ladies the lead at the star of the second half.
In Elizabeth Group, Dynamic Jjeza and Wakiso Hills WFC earned slim wins over Acholi Queens and EHCOS respectively.
Wakiso Hills had to come from behind to win 2-1 against EHCOS. Faith Namuddu and Jaridah Nanyonjo scored for Wakiso Hills to cancel out Agnes Atim’s opener.
Dynamic Jjeza fought hard to see off Acholi Queens in a five goal thriller, winning 3-2 at home.
Brenda Nandagire, Sandra Nakalya and Viola Tebitondwa scored a goal each for Jjeza while Acholi Queens had Rachael Acio and Sharipher Atimango scoring.

The round of 16 Draw for the 48th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup has been successfully conducted on Wednesday at FUFA Complex.
A total of 17 teams are still in contention for the coveted Cup and all were placed in one pot in the round of 16 draw to determine the fixtures.

The event was graced by former Uganda Cranes footballer Ibrahim Buwembo who featured for several clubs including Coffee FC, State House FC and Express FC among others.

Buwembo indicated he was honoured to be part of the draws and lauded FUFA for uplifting the status of domestic competitions.
” I’m honoured to grace this event. It is encouraging to see that this competition has continued to grow in stature and now attracts sponsors like Stanbic Bank and Plascon Paint,” he stated.

For the previous two editions we have not had the CSR campaign due to COVID-19 but I’m glad to inform you that this year, we shall have it running,” she started before adding, ” we welcome the general public to embrace this exercise by bringing clothes, shoes, soap, beddings etc that we will give out to the less privileged people in the region where the final will be held.”

Matchday Five of the FUFA Women Super League was dominated by visiting teams picking victories. She Corporate FC, Kawempe Muslim Ladies and Kampala Queens all secured maximum points on the road.
On Saturday, She Corporate overcame UCU Lady Cardinals in the top of the table clash, coming from a goal down to win 2-1 in Mukono.
The two goals for the Sharks came at the very death of the game with Favour Nambatya converting a penalty in the 88th minute while substitute Susan Atim got the winner in the second minute of added time.

FC Tooro Queens played out their fifth draw in as many games on Saturday at home to Olila High School WFC.
The game played at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal City ended goalless and Tooro’s search for the first win this season will continue. They will face Uganda Martyrs WFC on Tuesday in Lubaga.
Tooro Queens are yet to win this season. All their five games have ended in draws.
Olila High School on the other hand will remain within Kitara region to take on bottom placed Lady Doves FC at Katusabe Stadium in Masindi on Monday.

Action in the FUFA Women Super League will resume this weekend with exciting fixtures spread across the country. Key among those will be a top of the table clash between UCU Lady Cardinals FC and She Corporate FC.
The fixture slated for Saturday at UCU Ground in Mukono pits the best two clubs in the League so far, judging from their brilliant start to the new season.
UCU Lady Cardinals occupy top spot on the log with ten points from four games while visiting She Corporate follow closely in second place on the same number of points. The former however, lead because of a better goal difference.

The 2018/19 Champions have scored eight ans conceded one while She Corporate on the other hand have netted six times and conceded once.
The recent engagements between the two sides have provided thrilling moments and closely contested. For instance the last two games have ended in draws.

In 2019 at UCU Ground, a one all draw was registered while the most recent encounter at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru ended with no goal registered.

Olila returned to winning ways last weekend, defeating She Maroons and will hugely rely on versatile Grace Aluka who leads the scoring charts with four goals in the three games she has played.

Kampala Queens and Rines SS WFC who were out of action last weekend will face off in Wakiso with the former hoping to capitalize on their victory over She Maroons on Matchday three.

New comers Rines SS WFC on the other hand have two points to show this season, both coming at home against Tooro Queens and She Corporate.
On Sunday, Kawempe Muslim Ladies who have had a sloppy start to the season with just three points from three games will hope to get back on the rails against winless She Maroons in Luzira.

FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2022 First Round, First Leg Uganda 2-2 Ethiopia
Uganda and Ethiopia played out a two all draw in the first leg of the first round in the 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
Despite Uganda leading 2-0 midway through the second half, Ethiopia fought hard to score two goals inside the final ten minutes.

Hadijah Nandago netted twice for Uganda but Ethiopia salvaged a point through Emush Daniel Dandamo and substitute Semira Kedir Ahmed.
Uganda started the better side and captain Shakira Nyinagahirwa got the first attempt on goal in the sixth minute from a free kick but her effort sailed just wide.
The first chance for the Ethiopians came in the 15th minute when Meseret Mamo Wolde attempted to lobe the ball past on rushing goalkeeper Sharon Kaidu but her attempt went off target.
Coach Ayub Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi was forced into making an early change when defender Patience Nabulobi suffered a head injury and was replaced by Esther Namusoke.
There were further changes upon resumption with Sumaya Nalumu and Shamusa Najjuma coming on for Brenda Munyana and Kamiyati Naigaga respectively.
Nalumu nearly opened the scores a minute after coming on with her delivery from the corner kick nearly beating goalkeeper Abeba Ajibo Afa.
It was Nandego who broke the deadlock in the 66th minute. The forward was quick to lash onto the ball ahead of the goalkeeper who had moved off her line.

Six minutes, Nandego netted her second of the day, capitalizing on a defence lapse, with her effort outside the box going into the back of the net.
The visitors however kept the belief and continued to make attempts. The pressure eventually paid off dividends with Dandamo scoring in the 79th minute.

Deep into stoppage time, Ethiopia found the equalizer when Semir found space in the box and lobed the ball beyond the goalkeeper’ reach.
The two teams will face off two weeks from now in the second round with the winner on aggregate taking on South Africa.

Uganda U17 Women’s National Team is set to face rivals Ethiopia in the first leg of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende this Friday.
Head Coach Ayub Khalifa and Captain Shakira Nyinagahirwa expressed their readiness to take on the horn of Africa rivals.
At the press briefing held on Thursday morning at FUFA Complex in Mengo, Coach Ayub Khalifa said that although his team majorly comprises of inexperienced players, they have prepared them in all aspects to get positive results.

”The team is mainly comprised of young players who are not exposed. We have done our best to prepare them in all aspects of the game. We are glad that the team also has some experienced players who have been with the U20 whom we shall build the team on.” Said the coach.
He also added that they have done enough homework against the opponents, building from the previous encounters both at the U17 and U20 level.

”We have played against Ethiopia in the U20 and it is a good team but we have done our homework and certain that we shall register positive results at home before we go for the return leg.”

”Players are ready to take on Ethiopia because the coaches have done their best during the training sessions and the time we have spent in camp and we are ready to get the best results. Our main objective is to eliminate Ethiopia but we have to focus on each game starting with this one.” She indicated.
The FUFA Competitions Department has confirmed that twelve (12) teams will take part in the 2021/2022 season of the FUFA Women Elite League after meeting the club licensing requirements. The league will kick off on 13th March 2022.
The teams have been pooled into two groups under brand names; Elizabeth and Victoria with each comprising of six teams.
The grouping has been done based on the location of teams to ease the burden of transport during the league that will be played on home and away basis.
The top placed team in each group at the end of the season will join the FUFA Women Super League.

FC Tooro Queens put a halt to UCU Lady Cardinals’ winning start to the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League season after playing to a draw on Sunday.
In the game played on Sunday at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal City, the Country Queens came from a goal down to deny visiting UCU Lady Cardinals maximum points.
The Mukono based outfit had won their first three games and were destined to a fourth straight victory following Sandra Kisakye’s early goal in the 15th minute.
The hosts however, levelled matters through Ruth Nyakato to salvage a point and thus register their fourth straight draw.
Despite not getting all three points, UCU Lady Cardinals moved back to the top of the table with ten points, same as She Corporate but the former have a superior goal difference.
FC Tooro Queens on the other hand moved to sixth place on 4 points and their next game will be at home to Olila High School WFC on Saturday, 5th March.
In the other games played on matchday four, She Corporate FC bounced back to winning ways with a 2-1 win over troubled Lady Doves FC.
Fazila Ikwaput gave Lady Doves the lead at MUBS Arena on Saturday but a spirited second half performance saw She Corporate stage a comeback thanks to goals from second half substitute Ronah Regina Nantege and Phiona Nabbumba.
In Soroti Olila High School WFC who had lost to Uganda Martyrs WFC in the previous round made quick recovery by edging past She Maroons thanks to Grace Aluka’s solitary goal.
