It was defender Peace Aloyo who scored the lone goal of the game, coming twenty minutes from time.

Nalule opened the scores as early as the 5th minute firing home from close range after goalkeeper Rose Bamaniriza fumbled with a cross.

When the shot stopper failed to have a firm grip on the ball, Evan Nagayi was quick to play it into Nalule’s path and the latter did no mistake to fire home.

Town View SS seemed to have recollected from the early fears and were the better side in terms of possession but lacked efficiency in front of goal on a number of occasions.

Nantume put the game beyond reach in the 69th minute, capitalizing on yet another blopper by goalkeeper Bamaniriza.

UCU Lady Cardinals 3-0 Isra Soccer Academy

Hasifa Nassuna was instrumental as UCU Lady Cardinals dug deep to overcome a resilient Isra Soccer Academy side in the first game on Friday.

The lethal forward and skipper of the 2019 Winners scored a brace while Teddy Najjuma added the other to guide their team to a 3-0 win.

The brace took Nassuna’s goal tally in the League to 91 since 2015 while she was at Kawempe Muslim Ladies.

Isra Soccer Academy proved a hard nut to crack and marched UCU Lady Cardinals for the larger part of the game.

However, their resolve was broken in the 79th minute when defender Flavia Nalwanga failed to clear the ball and instead gifted to Nassuna who did no mistake to fire home.

Three minutes later, midfielder Teddy Najjuma jumped high to node home from a corner thus doubling UCU Lady Cardinals’ lead.

Nassuna once again appeared on the score sheet, scoring at the death of the clock as the team marched to victory.

UCU Lady Cardinals now move to 6 points in three games and will face Olila High School on Saturday for their final group game.

On the other hand, Isra Soccer Academy who have conceded 11 goals will end the group fixtures against She Corporate.

Lady Doves 2-1 UCU Lady Cardinals

Fazila Ikwaput continued with her brilliant performance at the ongoing FUFA Women Super League with yet another individual show.

The striker netted twice as Lady Doves staged a comeback against UCU Lady Cardinals in the first game played on Wednesday.

The 2019 League Champions had taken the lead in the 18th minute through skipper Hasifa Nassuna but Ikwaput came to the party scoring a goal in either half.

Nassuna struck home from the spot after Rashida Nankya had brought down Harriet Muwugumya in the area.

UCU Lady Cardinals started on the front foot and had several opportunities but failed to stretch their lead.

Ikwaput who was silent in the opening stages of the game made a perfect running to capitalize on a miscommunication between defender Shadia Nankya and goalkeeper Ruth Aturo to poke home.

Nankya and Aturo failed to clear the ball and the lethal forward ran in between to round off the goalkeeper and slot into an empty net.

Madam Christine and Nabirah Nakitto close down Sandra Kisakye.

In the second half, Lady Doves greatly improved with Riticia Nabbosa taking charge of the midfield and always looking for Ikwaput with long balls.

Lady Doves were awarded a penalty in the 75th minute when Nankya fouled Ikwaput in the box. The striker took the resultant penalty to fire her team into the lead.

They eventually held on to secure maximum points and maintain their grip at the top of the table in group 2 with 7 points.

Joweria Nagadya goes into a challenge with Joan Kwagala.

Lady Doves will play their final game on Friday against She Corporate while UCU Lady Cardinals still have two games to play (Olila High School and Isra Soccer Academy).

UCU Lady Cardinals 1-0 She Corporate

UCU Lady Cardinals had to dig deep to overcome She Corporate as the two teams faced off on Tuesday in the FUFA Women Super League.

The 2018/19 winners began their quest for a second title with a 1-0 win over Nakawa based She Corporate.

Defender Shadia Nankya struck home early into the game, capitalizing on a mistake by goalkeeper Vanessa Karungi.

UCU Lady Cardinals began on the front foot and made several inroads in the opening minutes.

Sandra Kisakye had the first attempt at goal in the 3rd minute but her strike just outside the area sailed over.

Two minutes later, Nankya struck home direct from a free kick with her powerful shot at the near post beating goalkeeper Karungi.

The towering defender also executed her defensive duties well denying Favour Nambatya who had gone through goal at the quarter hour mark.

She Corporate keep surging forward in an attempt to get the equalizer but all in vain.

Jauharah Nabaggala holds off Phiona Nabbumba.

In the 26th minute Nantege made a good run on the left flank but her feeble cross was easily collected by goalkeeper Ruth Aturo.

On the other hand, UCU Lady Cardinals nearly doubled their lead in the 38th minute capitalising on yet another blooper by goalkeeper Karungi.

She Corporate returned recharged after the break and got several chances to score but lacked efficiency in front.

Cissy Nakate of UCU Lady Cardinals takes on two She Corporate plyers.

Despite losing defender Bridget Nabisaalu who picked up an injury, they looked composed and kept asking questions.

Nantege had two clear cut chances to fire home but chose to lay up Nambatya. She was later withdrawn and replaced by Susan Atim.

Atim was unlucky after coming on with her ferocious strike ricocheting off the upright.

Phoebe Banura (with the ball) takes off Noeline Namiiro.

UCU Lady Cardinals eventually held on to scoop three points in their opening game. They will return to action on Wednesday against Lady Doves.

She Corporate on the other hand will rest for two days and play Lady Doves on Friday.
