The Federation of Uganda Football Associations would like to bring to your attention that the early Monday morning raid of our offices in Mengo by a group of some of the former players is now under control following the intervention of DPC Old Kampala Charles Nsaba and his team.
The group was led by George Semwogerere, Philip Obwinyi, Polly Ouma, Dan Walusimbi, Issa Sekatawa, Mathias Kawesa, Qudus, Dan Mubiru, Obadiah Semakula and Nanik Muzamil.
The group vandalized the main door at the reception that leads to various offices.
The matter is being handled by Police.

The 2016 Airtel FUFA Awards will be officially launched on Monday, 14th November 2016 at Serena Hotel in Kampala.
According to the FUFA communications manager Ahmed Hussein, the awards will be launched at Achwa Hall starting at 10 a.m.

Uganda Cranes has overcome Congo Brazzaville 1-0 during the group E of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier played at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Saturday.
Standard Liege midfielder Faruku Miya scored the lone strike of the day in the 19th minute of the game slightly marred by a head injury to central defender Murushid Jjuuko in the 10th minute.
William Luwagga Kizito, who plays at Rio Ave in Portugal replaced the injuried Jjuuko which pushed Hassan Wasswa Mawanda to the central defence department.
In the second half Michael Azira replaced the injured Tonny Mawejje in the 60th minute before Godfrey Walusimbi came in for Moses Oloya with less than 10 minutes to play.

The President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday afternoon hosted the National team, Uganda Cranes to a state banquet at Entebbe State House.
The President was appreciating the Uganda Cranes for flying the country’s flag high after qualification to the 2017 AFCON Finals in Gabon. Uganda beat Comoros 1-0 on 4th September at Namboole to return to the Finals for the first time in 38 years.
The luncheon was attended by First Lady Hon. Janet Museveni who is also the Minister of Sports and Education, State minister for Sports Hon Charles Bakkabulindi, State minister for Higher Education John Chrysestom Muyingo, Minister for Kampala Affairs Betty Kamya, FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo, FUFA Executive members,Secretariat staff and Uganda Cranes players.
It was the first time The President was meeting the Uganda Cranes players after beating Comoros.
The President was in a jovial mood dropping light jokes about sports in his speech.
‘I am a very good footballer. I have a lot of stamina gathered from my days of cattle keeping. You know cattle keepers move a lot and are always fit’ said the President and he sent his guests into laughter.

On Cranes success, the President congratulated the players.
‘Let me congratulate upon taking the country back to the AFCON finals. I know FUFA President Magogo has challenges with raising finances for the players but we can work out something together for the team’ added the President.
The President promised to clear the 2017 AFCON qualification bonuses for players and technical team as was requested by FUFA in the 3bn shillings budget presented to him before Uganda Cranes played Comoros.
Museveni also promised to fund the training programme for the 2017 AFCON Finals. Details will be worked on between the two parties FUFA, Ministry of Education and Sports as well as State House.
As he concluded his speech the President also noted the disparity in allowances and bonuses paid to other countries as highlighted by the FUFA President in his speech.
‘I have listened to the FUFA President Magogo talking about the allowances and bonuses paid to the Zambia National team and other countries. We shall match those figures. In fact i will meet the First Lady to work about a bonus scheme that should match that of Zambia added the President.
During his speech, the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo highlighted to HE the role football plays in uniting the populace and also being a big foreign exchange earner. Magogo also thanked the President for his great support towards the Cranes.
‘We do appreciate the financial and moral support you have given to the Uganda Cranes every time we have approached you for help. You have never let us down. The players who are here are always committed to representing the country at international level. However we have challenges especially in regard to the remuneration of the players and technical team including the huge salary paid to the Cranes coach every month’ said Magogo.

Swedish based defender Ronald Mukiibi reported to camp on Wednesday evening and trained with the team for the firs time at Mandela National Stadium, Nambole.

The development was communicated by the FUFA International Match Organizing Committee chairman, Dr. Bernard Patrick Ogwel on Wednesday morning during the weekly press conference held at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.
Soccer fans have been urged to purchase the match tickets at the official released selling points to avoid buying fake tickets.

Defender Ronald Mukiibi who plays for Swedish topflight side Östersunds FK has jetted into the country ahead of Saturday’s 2018 FIFA World cup qualifier at Namboole stadium. Uganda Cranes fell 1-0 to Zambia Chipolopolo Stars on Tuesday during the international build up match at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.
Chisamba Lungu scored the lone goal on the day in the first half of the well balanced game handed by FIFA Referee Dennis Batte.

Miya who scored a memrobale goal on 4th September 2016 at Namboole to take Uganda back to the table of men at the AFCON finals arrived at 11pm on Monday and went straight to camp at Sky Hotel in Nalya.
Denis Onyango who plays his club football in South Africa with Mamelodi Sundowns and became the first Ugandan to win the CAF Champions League medal joined also the camp after jetting in last night. Onyango will be a beneficiary of a land title from Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) for his exemplary performance during the CAF Champions League.

Fresh from winning the Kenya Premier League title, Shafik Batambuze wasted little time as he joined the camp on Monday morning and was part of the training session at Namboole stadium. he was joined by historic captain Geoffrey Massa as well as Aucho Khalid, William Luwagga Kizito, Yassar Mugerwa, Isaac Isinde and Robert Odongkara.
Mike Azira will jet in tomorrow night while Ronald Mukiibi on Tuesday at 10pm.
There was a moment of brotherhood as both sets of players (Uganda and Zambia) gathered in the middle of the Namboole turf for a group photo. Zambia has just completed their traning session to pave way for Uganda Cranes.

It was nearly a full house as the Uganda Cranes team trained on Monday evening ahead of Zambia’s international friendly match at Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Eight professionals joined the team training under the coaches, Moses Basena (assistant coach), goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba and head tactician Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic.
These were Yassar Mugerwa, Shafiq Batambuze, William Luwagga Kizito, Geofrey Massa, Khalid Aucho, Dennis Iguma, Isaac Isinde and Robert Odongkara all reported on Monday evening and trained as well.

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic says that the players reduced from the camp are still part of future plans laid out for Uganda Cranes. The Serbian coach is busy planning for two international fixtures starting with Tuesday’s friendly with Zambia before taking on Congo Brazzaville in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifier at Mandela National stadium on Saturday.
As Micho welcomes more players in camp, he has had to reduce the numbers in camp to accommodate the 19 foreign based stars he summoned last week.
On Monday afternoon, Micho reduced his squad by 8 players and these are; Okoth Denis, Kassaga Richard, Lwaliwa Khalid, Kizito Keziron, Erisa Sekisambu, Lwesibawa Godfrey, Kayiwa Allan, Kagimu Shafik.
‘The players reduced from camp are still part of the future plans with Uganda Cranes. We have the CECAFA tournament coming up and other international engagements for the National team before the close of the year’ Micho told fufa.co.ug
‘I will engage these players after the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville’ added Micho who led Uganda Cranes to the AFCON Finals for the first time since 1978.
The rest of the players who have been in camp since Friday will continue with training on Monday evening at 5pm at Namboole stadium.
