Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) deeply mourns the demise of prominent sports journalist Andrew Patrick Luwandaga who passed on today.
The genius sports journalist who has worked as stadium announcer during Uganda cranes matches will dearly be missed.

Losing an elder in sports is not good news at all. Mr. Luwandaga served football wholeheartedly and many journalists and administrators learnt a lot from his expertise

A moment of silence was held prior to the kick off of the 92nd FUFA Ordinary General Assembly.
The Azam Uganda Premier League continued on Friday with 3 matches.
KCCA, the reigning champions overcame Police 3-0 at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
Veteran striker Geofrey Sserunkuma scored two goals on the evening. Derrick Nsibambi got the other goal on the day for Mike Mutebi’s coached side that now has 21 points from 10 games.
At Kavumba stadium, Soana and Lweza shared the spoils in a 4 goal thriller. Hassan Kikoyo and Paddy Muhumuza were on target for Lweza as Emmanuel Kalyowa and Allan Kayiwa scored for Soana.
In Jinja, Ambrose Kirya scored the match winner for visiting SC Villa past Bul F.C at the Kakindu Stadium.
The league continues on Saturday when Express F.C hosts Bright Stars at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
This fixture will be played under closed doors as ruled by the UPL after violence involving the home team during a previous match.

Oloya is a current Uganda Cranes player and Kidega is an Ex-International.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club has a chance to extend their top leadership status at the summit of the Azam Uganda Premier League when they host Police at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Kampala.
KCCA currently has 19 points, same number of points as Vipers who played and won 1-0 against Kirinya-Jinja S.S on Tuesday.
BUL will be at home to SC Villa at the Kakindu Stadium in Jinja while Soana, currently at number three on the league table will play Lweza at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium.
On Saturday, there is only one game confirmed. Express will play host to Bright Stars behind closed doors at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Mbarara based new club in the national second division league, Nyamityobora Football Club, Ndejje University, Bright Light and Masavu recorded varying victories on Thursday.
Masavu edged Kataka 1-0 in Mbale with the sole goal scored by former Arua Young midfielder Bashir Bhetto.
Nyamityobora easily overcame Boma Young 3-0 in Mbarara. At the Ndejje main play ground in Luweero, Ndejje University pipped visiting Kyambogo 4-2 in a six goal thriller.
There were three draws registered on the day.
A ten man Kireka side held Entebbe F.C to a non scoring draw at the Bugonga play ground in Entebbe.
Busia Fisheries and Artland-Katale Kamuli Park as well as Sun City and Baza Holdings also ended 0-0.
At the Masaka Recreational Stadium, Synergy rallied from a goal down to earn a home point with visitors, Airtel-Kitara in 1 all draw.
The FUFA Big League returns on Friday with one match when Sporting United hosts Kira United in Lira.

Uganda Cranes will officially return to the AFCON finals on 17th January 2017 against Ghana at Port Gentil.
This was confirmed after the draws that took place at ASMG Tent in Stade De’ L’Amitie, Libreville in Gabon on Wednesday evening.
Uganda is pooled in Group D with Ghana, Egypt and Mali.

After missing out in the last 3 finals, Egypt will come like wounded lions. Ghana want to prove a point after missing in final to Cote D’Ivoire.
Uganda Cranes will play Ghana on 17th January 2017, face Egypt on 21st January in Port Gentil before playing Mali in the last group game on the 25th January 2017 in Oyem.
The entire group D will be based in Port Gentil City on the Atlantic Ocean shores, about 150KM from the capital, Libreville.
Uganda and Ghana will share the same hotel – Hotel Du Parc. Mali is accomodated at Hotel Bamboo and Egypt at the Hotel Chez Jimmy.

Preparations for a successful FUFA General Assembly have garnered momentum with less than four days to the day long event.
Addressing the media at the FUFA Weekly press conference in Mengo Kampala, the FUFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Edgar Watson hinted on the preparations to have a successful Assembly that will accomodate delegates, invited guests and other dignitaries. All will be accredited.
Preparations for the 92nd FUFA General Assembly at Nimrod Hotel in Luwero (Buganda Regiona) are in top gear.
FUFA has invited guests from National Council of Sports (NCS), Uganda Olympic Committee, Government and former players.

The FUFA CEO also communicated that Minister of State for Luwero Triangle-Dennis Galabuzi is expected to be the Chief Guest.
Deliberations at the Assembly will rotate around the discussions of the NCS statutory instruments, 2017 FUFA budget estimates, Audited books of accounts (2015), Futsal Association of Uganda application to become a member of FUFA, process of amendments and the FUFA five year strategic plan for the period 2017-2021.
Attendance to the Assembly will be by accreditation inclusive of all the invited guests.
After the Assembly, the FUFA Staff, delegates and guests will play against FUFA President’s select team in a friendly match.

The President of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Eng. Moses Magogo has held a consultative meeting on Wednesday afternoon with special interest groups that make up the FUFA Assembly.
The FUFA President discussed various issues in regard to the beautiful game of football and its development. He reminded the delegates and chairmen of the special interest groups their cardinal roles of spreading football accross the country.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the appointment of two new staff on board.
Humphrey Mandu is now the FUFA Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Bashir Mutyaba, the FUFA Youth Development Officer.
The two appointments were announced to the media during the Wednesday weekly press conference at Mengo in Kampala.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) noted;
Humphrey Mandu is now the Deputy FUFA CEO and Bashir Mutyaba, the FUFA Youth Development Officer. They are competent personalities who will diligently serve the beautiful game of football. We wish them fruitful endeavours in their new appointments that take immediate effect.

Edgar Watson clarified on their roles at the Federation;
Mutyaba will help in the monitoring of all the FUFA youth football activities, capturing data within areas of youth football. This is all under the youth department of FUFA and he will directly report to the FUFA Technical Director, Asuman Lubowa.
Mandu will handle the department of human resource and all the other general duties under the office of the Chief Executive Officer.
The duo’s appointment and work tasks take immediate effect.

FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo has fulfilled his pledge and handed over 40 balls to Busoga Kingdom officials to aid in the development of the game of football in the region on Wednesday.
At the onset of the inaugural Busoga Masaza competition the FUFA President on top of offering wise counsel in regard to organizing a successful completion, he also promised to give balls to the organisers of the competition.
On Wednesday, he handed over to the Busoga Kingdom Sports minister Owek. Amin Bbosa who was in the company of Issa Magoola, a FUFA delegate representing the Eastern region who is also the chairman Local Organizing Committee of the Busoga Masaza tournament at FUFA house in Mengo.
Bbosa was full of praise for the FUFA president after the offer. He said the competition will go a very long way in helping the tournament achieve its major objective of promoting talents in the Kingdom.
I thank the FUFA President for this offer. This is a very good gesture and on behalf of Busoga kingdom I want to say thank you so much, we are so grateful
We are going to give these balls to the teams right away such that they embark on preparations for next year’s competition
Magoola added his voice to Bbosa’s by applauding the President’s kind heart.
I want to thank FUFA for guiding us when we were still in the planning stages of this compettion. They have also supported us by giving us registered referees who have officiated our games adding substance to the competition. This moment by the FUFA President has crowned it all. We pray that this working relationship continues.
The final of the competition that kicked off on July 23rd is set to be played on October 29th at Bugembe stadium Jinja with Bunya county taking on Bukooli a game that will be graced by His Majesty the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Wilberforce Nadiope Gabula IV.
Earlier on the the same day for the final, Buzaaya will take on Kigulu in the 3rd place playoff.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations expresses deep shock at the death of former Uganda Cricket officials Mr Azuba Chris, Mr Justine Ligyalingi and his wife-both parents of the current Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Cricket Association Mr. Justine Ligyalingi.
Mr. and Mrs. Ligyalingi died following a car accident on Monday 17thOctober, 2016 while Azuba also died on the same day.
FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo mourned the depatrted officials.
‘It is very sad for the entire sports fraternity in Uganda and especially those in the cricket circles to lose such important people who have groomed very many talents’.
Ligyalingi’s contribution in sports disciplines like Netball, football (where he was a referee), Athletics and cricket left an indelible mark on many young talents. Our beloved mother who also passed away gave birth to the Current CEO of Uganda Cricket Association. We shall dearly miss them’

Uganda Revenue Authority football club won 2-0 away to Th Saints at the Bombo Military Stadium.
Peter Lwasa and Bokota Labama got the two away goals for Kefa Kisala’s side coming days after their 3-1 home win against Onduparaka at the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.
At the Betway Stadium in Arua, Onduparaka and visiting Jinja Municipal Council Hippos played to a one all draw.
Mustapha Mugoye got a stunning 28th minute opener for the visitors before ‘the Caterpillars‘ equalized through Gadaffi Gadihno with five minutes to the end of the first half.

The FUFA Referees standing Committee (FRSC) has suspended Oloya William who handled the Azam Uganda Premier League match no.66 between Kirinya Jinja SS and KCCA FC on 11th October, 2016 at Bugembe stadium.
The suspension takes immediate effect and for the remainder of the 2016/17 season.
On 13th October, 2016 the FRSC met and took a decision to suspend Oloya who handled the above mentioned match.
The other officials of the mentioned match will not be affected by this decision.
The decision by the FRSC was taken after reviewing the Referees Assessor’s report and the video of the match.
The draw of the 2017 AFCON finals to be hosted by Gabon is set for this Wednesday 19th October, 2016.
Uganda is among the 16 finalists and will be heavily represented during the ceremony in Libreville at the ASMG Tent in Stade de l’Amitie.
FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein confirmed the latest developments.
‘FUFA will be represented by both Cranes Head coach Milutin Sredojevic and Commissioner for physical Education in the Ministry of Education and Sports Omara Apita in Gabon.
Apita and Sredojevic will fly out on Monday evening.
Hussein added;
‘Delegations of the 16 finalists at the draw will also conduct a familiarisation tour of the four cities where stadium, Hotel and training grounds are located for 2017 AFCON Finals’.
Uganda Cranes qualified for the finals for the first time since 1978. The Cranes edged Comoros 1-0 at Namboole to secure the result that sent them back to the table of African football giants.

Dennis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns have a 3 goal cushion ahead of the finals for CAF Champions league return leg.
During the first leg played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in South Africa on Saturday, they comfortably won 3-0.
Anthony Laffor, Tebogo Langerman and Percy Tau scored for the Brazilians.
As usual, goalkeeper Onyango staged a solid performance throughout the match ahead of the return leg in Egypt at the Borg El Arab Stadium next Sunday in Egypt.

Uganda Cranes first choice goalkeeper Dennis Onyango will on Saturday evening play in the CAF Champions league final when his club Mamelodi Sundowns take on Zamalek from Egypt in the first leg at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Being the only ambassador from Uganda in the match, FUFA and the rest of the country wish Onyango the very best in the game.
